Even when I couldn't call in after school I would wave through the window. After not being in for a while, when I finally did I was made to feel very special. I got a cream-filled coconut finger with the traditional radioactive red jam blob on the top and it was MASSIVE and it was only 60p!!! I had to stop myself from buying anything else. I also took a few of the sugary treats home n my last trip. Giant dark chocolate cookies (when I say large I mean 7-8inches) and Turkish baklava. Both were fantastic but the baklava was possibly the most unhealthy thing I've eaten. Buttery oily soaked thin layers of pastry with walnuts and honey. Delicious but very very filling. I also got the sun-dried tomato pesto, which I nearly ate in one sitting. If I lived here, I would be at this stall every week! There were some cute stalls with local vendors selling souvenirs, artwork, and jewellery. There were also quite a few stands with cookies, pastries and sweet treats. These all looked really good. On the other side of the market, there was a lot more hot food. They had everything from tacos, mac and cheese and large portions of fries with various toppings. Everything looked really good and the beef taco from Med Mex was delicious! The sauce was to die for. Definitely worth the visit and might pop back in before I leave!

Maybe one day I'll build up enough will power.

But never fear the staff here are well trained and they get queues moving at a frightening pace. There's a good seated area inside here, but every time I've been in it's sadly been occupied. I know people say Greggs is the death of the indie bakery but you really can't fault what they do - great pastries and lunch options - what's not to love?! Big love to one of the counter staff today who was a machine getting through the lunchtime rush whilst still being impeccably polite!

For this reason alone I quite like Greggs in general, but I thought I'd give this one a mention as the staff in here tend to be pretty friendly and helpful and get you in and out the door quickly and efficiently even when it's really busy.
