Clean, fresh, warm and welcoming with a huge choice, a good sized portion and a very decent price. The shop itself reminds me of a French deli with all the gorgeous cheeses on display and the shelves which are home to dips, spreads and chutneys! Seriously this is my kind of place! I once had a white chocolate cheesecake in here many moons ago and the image and taste are well engraved in my memory - it looked like something out of a magazine and the taste was thick, creamy yet melting and amazing. I sound like a freak but I will never forget it - haven't tasted one like it since. I can't rave about this place and the food enough - just go, you'll love it!

This makes for a very exciting smell upon entering here in the morning! Fresh baked bread...nothing better! I come here for lunch whenever I'm in the area and sometimes when I'm not! I'm told they also cater for functions and although have never experienced this side of the business if the food here is anything to go by it'll be a win win combination!!

Panic ensued as I worried if my local branch of this deli had met the same fate, but I'm pleased to report that it hasn't as yet - phew! La Cuisine have been in Glengormley since I was really young, and I always loved their food. It used to be a real treat to go there for lunch, and in truth, it still is! The food is all cooked on-site that day, so it's beautifully fresh and properly tasty. Highlights are definitely the pies and the vol-au-vents (very 80s, but who cares when they're so yummy??) The cafe is really tiny, so there are only a few tables. This can cause a bit of traffic at lunchtime as people wait for tables, but don't think this means you'll be rushed through your meal. The staff are always patient (I know this because I've gone on several occasions with my 18 month old nephew - patience is definitely required!) and willing to accommodate whatever request you may make of them.

La Cuisine is a lovely place to go for lunch.. and I would visit quite often - although word of…read morewarning - it may be easier to carry out than to sit in, as the cafe itself is very small. I'll start with the bad points, to get them out of the way. Firstly, the cafe is a little hidden and may be hard to find for someone who is not used to the area. The car parking around it isn't adequate and you can never get a parking space. The cafe itself is also very small.. you may be waiting for a table for a very long time, so it is better to take away. Even if you do sit in, you will notice you are sitting very close to people who are taking away, so it doesn't feel very private. Anyway, good points. Food is absolutely fantastic. I'm a huge fan of the large hot cajun baguettes.. they are like heaven in your mouth. Their food always looks nice and fresh in the counter and they offer a wide range of lunch time dishes that caters for everybody. It's always very good value for money compared to some cafes and sandwich bars that will charge a fortune for a baguette - especially for how much you get. They are very generous with their portions, which is a factor that I love to see in a food place. Also, staff are very friendly, always smiling no matter how busy the cafe is. Overall, with the number of bad points you'd expect a 3 star rating, but this climbs up to a 4 star, simply because their food is amazing and you can't get much better.

Crowded at lunchtime on a weekday, we managed to nab a table when another couple finished their meal. It's super busy and inside, it's full of gourmet delights. Anyone who thinks Northern Ireland doesn't have good good needs to come here. Smoked salmon on toasted bread, hard Irish cheese, crunchy baguette, sliced turkey, even chilli sauce and something called "black butter." Oh, and wine. You can't have a midday snack without wine, right? Much/most of the food here is quite local (the wine is Spanish) and the staff are helpful. Check the "sandwich board" out front for specials. The Spanish Board for £25 would be my choice! [Review 1893 of 2024 - 871 in United Kingdom - 22915 overall]

An Italian section with lots of varieties of pastas and sauces. Cookies from Italy and limoncello! There is a very small Mexican section, which in my opinion was pretty darn good for being in Ireland! They had tortillas, various dry chilies and hot sauces. Lots of cookies, candies, jams and jelly's and a very large tea selection. The cheese case and deli were loaded with so many choices, it was hard to choose! You can order food and eat at tables that are just outside the front of the store. A definite recommend but if you're a foodie, be prepared to be dazzled!

This company has gone from strength to strength in recent years opening multiple new shops across Northern Ireland and that's testament to their produce. This is the place to go if you're preparing a special meal and looking for fine food. They sell. My mouth was watering when I saw the Dry Aged Meat section - it looked truly divine! They sell chicken breast in bulk at a good price, something that might appeal to gym buffs that are looking to put on some mass. There are chalkboards all over the place advertising special deals - if you're looking for some inspiration you should pop in here for a wee look - you'll probably come out wanting to write a cook book. Yes, you heard right. Well, it is a 'fine food' of sorts... Basically that was the only reason myself and my two siblings wandered into this cute deli - the ice cream. We had spotted a display just under the archway for Take Thyme, and a small sign had caught my brother's eye in the process. "Ohhh, Ben and Jerry's!" No questions asked...the three of us practically sprinted over to the right and corner to further investigate. Take Thyme does have a really good range of food stuffs for such a small shop, and apparently these small tubs of the delectable Ben and Jerry's for £1.99 are the latest edition. Despite the protests of "Oh my word, I'm stuffed!" and "I'm not eating any more" a mere hour before, both siblings were super eager to purchase their own little pot of Caramel Choo Choo (my sis) and Chocolate Fudge Brownie (the bro). I was happy enough to remain ice creamless. For the finer foods in life, Take Thyme is a fab little find. That apparently includes Ben and Jerry's. I happen to agree...
