I played at Hollywood sports Park my first time after 6 years and it wasn't that great , just seemed unorganized and the staff weren't that helpful . Today I went to ASG and I had a great time . The refs were really good and you can tell everyone here really cares about the game . I played walk on rec ball and pretty much played non stop for 4 hours with maybe 5 minute breaks in between games . Definitely good vibes all around . I would highly recommend ASG . read more

ASG is awesome! One of the best places in Southern California for paintball. If you want to play a lot of games come here!!!! Games go non stop all day, never have to go and wait for games to get started back up like other places. Only time you stop playing is if you need to fill up or you get tired yourself. Great especially if you have some newcomers. They do a 50 yard line you can't pass to prevent people from getting to close. Usually a ton of people so they will split off into beginners and advanced groups so if you want you can go with the advanced and play regular rules so the out 50 yard line rule. Everything went well! The staff was amazing, super on top of making sure we get the most play out of the day. I mean we'd be sitting down and they ask " are you ready " 2 sips of water later " ok, you ready now?! " but not in a pushy manner if that's how this comes across. A big THANK YOU to the staff at Action Star Games Paintball Park!! I had a great 55th birthday with my kids this past Sunday!! Since I haven't played in a while, I chose to rent one along with two sets for my kids. The rental equipment(marker, mask, and chest/back protector) was an easy process. Instructions how to use the marker along with a safety briefing. We headed over to the air station where we were greeted by friendly staff who did/taught my kids how to air up their tanks. So awesome! We then made sure that the markers were shooting under the 280fps limit and were on our way to start our first game. Soon it was game on! My son, who is a few years older than the last time he played(hated it), was starting to look comfortable out there. I stayed back and helped my daughter figure things out. Which she did. The can't pass the 50 yard line format along with no rapid fire was ideal for this old man. It was also great for my kids who are looking to fire a few paintballs without getting shot from behind by players wrapping around. I believe it's still a challenge for more advanced players because it makes them take longer shots and many times they are still getting shot at even at the end of the game. The combination of the staff staying out in the fields to turn games quickly, the friendly "air up and get some water here if you need", the banter between the friendly players, the food offered, and the let us know if you need anything attitude here is welcoming!! Within a half day here, you can easily play more rec games here than at other fields. The ability to bring your own paint is awesome too! Talking and playing with Holguin, who is a staff member, was awesome! I worked behind him one game to get the feel of how an experienced player plays. He pointed out to me that I could upgrade my marker if I wanted to. I didn't because I wasn't sure how long my kids wanted to play. The rental marker was working fine and I shot up as much paint as I could. As we left and thanked the staff for the day, it was impressive that Holguin remembered our names! Come here almost every Sunday for speed ball and sometimes play rec ball. Not a huge fan of woods ball here the guys see women playing and they are just asses. The maps are not great either I like the more open nature feel like Alpine paintball field has. Owner is super nice, bathrooms are clean and maintained. They have two fields for tournaments pretty spacious for set up. Overall, pretty decent place to come check out at least once. read more

My first time visit was awesome. As a drove up, it really felt like the middle of nowhere, low key thought the maps were wrong. Just keep going till 2 giant dinos are in view. Staff here are so helpful, and chill. Registration was a breeze and straightforward. Please don't be shy to ask all the questions, they will answer all, no sweat. Tip: please take lots of water, it does get super hot, especially with the gear on. I even took a few bandanas to capture sweat from entering my eyes. If you're in the Orange County area and you're looking for a great place to paintball (experienced or not), this is it! It is definitely a drive from OC, but it is the best spot you will find with the best staff. It's worth it! Seriously, the staff is so patient and kind and their top priority is everyone's safety while having fun. We went for my brothers bday (10 of us) and we are all rookies-- some of us had never paintballed, majority of us had been twice before to a different location. The staff was helpful, patient, always explained the rules and made our time real fun. We paid about $80-$85/person which includes a vest, safety helmet, paintballs, gun, paintball bullet holder (don't know the actual name) and entry for the entire day. Let me start off by saying I've been playing paintball for 20 years. I've been to just about all the parks in SoCal, and ASG blows them ALL out of the water, bar none! Every paintball park in operation today should take note. One of my biggest pet peeves on parks is the wait. 30-45 minute wait to play one game. I've even waited up to an hour to play one game. At ASG there is NO wait to play. Games are constantly in process. When you need to refill, you do. When you need to eat or get some water, you do. Then you come back in and play some more. My 12 and 10 year-old had a blast today. We drove up from Oceanside and we will do it again. I called in advance several days before to get more info and the gentleman on the phone was very polite, patient and informative. Carmen helped us get registered and she was great. A+ in customer service. I wish the bathrooms had paper seat covers, however the toilets were clean, it seems someone is routinely cleaning. We brought our own canopy for shade. read more

First time here, paintball was fun while it lasted, but the service for food and water was terrible for me. I literally stood in front of the line for 20 minutes while the owner catered to people that just arrived behind me. Perhaps he was only giving service to people he knew, but I kept standing there and realized I'm gonna be waiting for another 20 minutes. I would never give business to that food and water tent and I don't recommend anyone buying from there. Bring your own food so you don't have to deal with any negativity. read more

We love it here! Great fields and clean bathrooms and professional staff with a focus on safety with fun. I bring a group of 6-10 teen boys often and gave a great time! The office is very courteous and helpful. Just a note, while we were here today some show-off insecure chick thought she was cool by pealing out a truck in the gravel parking lot. So stupid. There's open dirt fields all around for donuts and she decides to be a noob in a gravel parking lot flipping up rocks around people and cars. Brainless. My first time paintballing EVER! I've heard stories from friends about how it's going to hurt, people are ruthless, the better gun (marker) will win, the fields suck, the refs suck, and so on about all the places in SD. Luckily my recently SD transplanted Menifee buddy found this place. He takes his 14 yo kid here and if he can take it, I could take it. Let's start from the beginning. Getting here is interesting because I typically drive a lowered car and the entrance is a "paved" road with lots of pot holes turned into a dirt road/parking area. Luckily I took my off-road ready Land Rover LR4 and had zero issues. So for all the low-riders, you'll make it through, but it'll be a little more challenging. Once you park, get on over to registration. There are 2 separate registration areas, one for paintball (on the left) and one for air soft (on the right). We're there for paintball and the people in the registration area are phenomenal. For $50 it included all-day field access, unlimited compressed air, paintball gun and mask rental. They got us checked in, rental fitted, quick safety overview, and made sure we know what we're doing. After suiting up, we walked over to the filling station to top-off the tanks, (mandatory; make sure you put on your mask before entering the field) get the gun chrono'd (it's chronograph or velocity check or pressure check to be within their safety guidelines [I think, 280??]), and then off to the field. There are several fields out there and "they" typically tell you as you walk on. Oh one big thing, they separate mechanical and electronic markers so that people play fairly. Basically a mechanical gun operator won't get demolished by a fully automatic gun that can fire 15 rounds within a second. The fields are pretty cool, granted this is the first time I've been to ANY paintball fields. There are lots of obstacles and they rotate each game by switching sides or fields. So it's constantly changing and you don't feel like you're on the same map every time. Most players play fair. Meaning if you're hit, you're out. There are some that just don't like the fact that they got hit within the first 30 seconds of the 10 minute game. IF you're hit, just raise your gun in the air and the ref will grant you a safe passage out. I recall my last game where I was out of balls and there were 4 opposing players advancing on me. I popped my hopper lid open and signaled to the ref that I was out and he got out of there safely. As you walk on or off the field let the refs know how many of you are there. Each game has players coming and going. You start/stop whenever you want to. The games keep rotating players, teams, and fields. I must have played roughly 15 games with my 5 buddies. We had a blast. Here's some of my recommendations, bring a case of water (good for 6 guys all day), bring snacks (they have a hot dog/beverage cart here), wear layers of clothing, get extra paintballs (we went through 3 cases of 2000 count + 3 bags of 500 count between 6 guys all day), bring a change of clothes (change before you get in your car, my buddy was on the s#!t list for sitting in his dirty paint-filled clothes in my LR4), bags for the dirty clothes, bring extra paintball pods, and a good attitude. Everyone here had a pretty positive attitude and is very cool. The player in the car next to us was practically lending his gear out to us, we declined, but that's the attitude here. The owner came out to the truck and made sure we were having fun and that we (beginners) should go into the speedball cage and go 3 vs 3, we also declined, but that's what makes this place so special. Again, granted this is my FIRST time paintballing EVER and everyone here made the trip worthwhile. FYI, yeah I got tagged a few times and yeah it hurts and still stings a little after 2 days. What really hurts are my legs from squatting, kneeling, running, and sitting. 2 days later, my legs are still hurting. The only way to build my endurance is to keep doing this. Now, I'm suckered in and will pick up my own gear. Thanks a lot guys at ASG for "making" me pick up a new hobby and pouring out more money from my pockets. read more

What would've been a great day of first time paintballing and celebrating a birthday was ruined by a rude employee name Adrian. He said if I had a problem I should tell his boss or go fight him so I'm here instead of going to jail. I was frustrated that he shot me from beyond the boundary as explained by the refs many times. First, he said he knew better because he worked there and the refs are new. Ok? So I got to sideline and started telling my friend what happened. He began intervening repeating his arguments, he only shot me once, and that he was talking trash because I was talking about him. I began getting angry and he instigated "If you wanna come get me I'm right here." He acted very entitled to treat a cusomer this way. Perhaps even worse than this punk was the ref standing right next to me not saying one word. I stopped myself from escalating and played the next game. This time he sniped me from the back as I began walking out with the gun high up in the air. At this point I had to leave the game before I went to "get him" as he requested. I was a very happy customer until mighty Adrian came to play. I was already planning to come here regularly. Just how entitled is your rude employee? Everyone else was great, but how does your company continue to thrive with mighty Adrian mistreating newcomers in the name of being your employee? read more

This is my first time coming to Action Star Games with my friends! I want to give five stars review to this place because they took good care of us! They have a great Costumer Service! I had issues with My O2 tank because is been leaking air for a while! Mario one of the workers Took initiative and he noticed that my air tank was damaged and not safe! He detected the problem on time and he redirected me with Carmen! Carmen was amazing she told me that she was able to help me by fixing my air tank! She sold me the piece that I need and she didn't overpricing with that little valve! She even told me that if there was any other problem she would give me my money back! I have been in both the Marine Corps or Law Enforcement for almost 30 years. Today my son and I ventured into ASG for a little paint ball. I have been to only one other park in the area and found this location to have a faster turn around, more staff and a serious concern for player safety. I cannot say enough great things about this paintball park!! They allowed me to paintball my wedding dress to use as a Halloween costume (obviously. I'm divorced now). All of the men assisting me with the task were beyond helpful, one even held the dress for me so I could get it at better while putting himself at risk of being hit. Went to asg for the first time on Sunday with my son. (It was his first time playing) the entire staff was extremely helpful. They make sure the little ones are safe at all times. I had my sons party here after Jungle Island canceled my party unexpectedly the Thursday before our scheduled party. I called here in a panic. From the first phone call a different experience. They handle their own appointments/ party details! Our party time was twice as long and we actually even stayed longer. Kids eat water breaks (other place they don't it's 1 1/2 hour party deal and it's rushed and straight through Boone told us as a guest to bring water so kids were all hot and thirsty) here no the case you play and take breaks as you like and the reff "the wolf" so sweet played w kids. He made up games and we used prizes. He was actually involved w out kids. We played ate lunch played more had cake and played more after that. So it was a much much better experience. All the parents agreed as we were the same group of parents that were at the previous party at Jungle Island a couple months ago. I totally recommend this place kids had a great great time. Price is same as there is 8 for 300 here is 12 for 450 however there each additional kid is about 38-40 so same pricing. read more
