Everything was decent, the Cuban sandwich was missing the roast pork, only had ham and for some reason both sandwiches came out room temp, cheese was still cold which was a little disappointing. I think I'll try this place again when they are up and fully running and have the menu figured out.

The decor and ambiance are truly unmatched. It's such a fun, tropical escape right here in the Midwest. I honestly wish Omaha had more spots like this. I'd love to come back when they have live music and dancing because I can only imagine how fun the energy would be. Most of the table ordered the Despelote to share, and it was perfect for a group. So many meats and sides, and plenty to go around. I ordered the Cuban Sandwich for myself and was really happy with it. The flavors were spot on, and the fries were super crispy and fresh. My husband ordered the Jibarito sandwich with chicken and really enjoyed it. He doesn't usually go for fried plantains, but he was pleasantly surprised by how much he liked them in the sandwich. We'll definitely be back again soon!

I was greeted warmly and taken care of as a solo diner. The space is decorated beautifully, clean, with lots of color and representation. They start you off with complimentary toasted bread. I started with a chicken empanadilla which was juicy and sooo flavorful. It was hot and you could tell it was fresh out the frier. My entree was the Camarones Platos which did not disappoint. All the food items were full of flavor and really delicious. I had a great time here for lunch and highly recommend

I was informed that it's street food and to eat it with my hands... I tried friends. I really did. One bite and it not only was all over my hands and face, half the contents were back on my plate. (I suggest tackling the fillings with a fork first to make the sandwich more manageable.) Food was messily delicious and that dark green sauce made it even better. Huge portions... The interior is fun and bright, with Venezuelan flags hung everywhere, nice wooden chairs and tables, and cute signs on the walls about their beer options and desserts. We spoke with the owner a lot, and he was so friendly and cheerful. He definitely wanted to be sure we all loved our food (which we did!) I started with the Papas Rellenas to share with the table, and they were HEAVENLY. Perfectly seasoned beef and mashed potatoes all fried up in a giant ball. Really good with any of their amazing sauces. And definitely ask for a bottle of each of the sauces, because they are all fantastic in their own ways! I tried an Arepa as well as a bit of a starter, and it was also very tasty! I had tried many arepas in Colombia, and this took me right back there. I had the Catira Arepa, and it was so delicately fried up and then filled with scrumptious chicken, shredded cheese, and some of the amazing house sauce (that's one of the amazing sauces mentioned previously). For my entree, I had the Pastichio, which is a Venezuela "lasagna" dish, with tomato, smoked ham, béchamel sauce, and lots of cheese all melted on top. It was extremely decadent in its richness, and the portion size was huge, so you may have some to take home as leftovers and enjoy later! My husband had the Pepito, which was a giant sandwich full of sliced sausage, carne asade (or another protein of your choice), cabbage, potato chips, and tons of their delicious sauces on top. I got to try it, and it was SO flavorful and satisfying! Another giant portion that will leave you with leftovers, too. We ended the meal with two desserts - the flan and the churros: -The flan was great and super sweet, especially with the added chocolate sauce on top - yum. -The churros were my favorite of the two, as they were soft, warm (obviously freshly made) and also came with a few dips to dunk them in like chocolate and caramel. I'm still dreaming about those churros. With a great owner/staff, fun atmosphere, and out of this world amazing food, I definitely recommend you check out El Arepon for yourself!

Portions are generous; the online menu says that you get 4 empanadas; I'm almost certain I got 6. My companion got the caldo de res (beef stew), which came in probably a quart bowl. We got the medium drinks and they were probably 12-16 ounce. The empanadas are fried; they came with some kind of finely chopped vegetable topping and 2 salsa options. They were tasty but basic. The beef soup had huge chunks of meat (some on the bone) and orange bell pepper, another salsa option, and chopped onion, etc. to sprinkle over. My companion seemed happy with it. I also got a horchata, and I can't agree with whoever was complaining about it - it was fine. Service was friendly and quick. I probably won't be back as I like more vegetarian options, but if you eat meat, check it out!

The menu was a little smaller than I had hoped, and I was looking for more traditional meals but this offers appetizer and sandwich options. I ordered the carne asada with beans, eggs, and plantains and it really hit the spot. I am a tiny bit picky about my beans and these were great. My colleagues hadn't ever tried this type of food before so they were a little nervous, but overall very pleased. I thought the plantains were a bit too soft and could have used a little more cooking. And I wasn't too convinced that the hotdog sandwiches were good, but they seem to enjoy them.
