Get one of these in here and I'd be tempted to drive down from London to do my grocery shopping every month!

There are a few French boutiques, gift shops and shoe shops, but generally they are average to over priced, especially the electrical store Darty. I can only suppose that they pay a premium in rent that they have to pass on. If you're gasping for a pint there is an English pub in the food court, which is a bizarre faux French street cafe affair (see photo). If you do go, make sure you make a careful note of where you've parked and which entrance you use (it's easy to get turned around).

They are currently building more units, due to open in time for Christmas, which will include a toyshop. This is one of the few retail parks where you can buy most things, eat, go to the bank/cinema/casino, even go to the supermarket (theres 2 within walking distance) and even stay at the hotel overnight - all without being charged to park! Fremlin Walk is a fairly new development in the middle of Maidstone town centre. My only advice to people shopping here is NOT to park in the underground car park - they charge extortionate prices to park the car. There are oodles of places to get a snack on the way round, like Starbucks etc. and there is a giant foodhall with choices for the discerning and not so discerning among you. On that note, a trip to Bluewater isn't complete without a trip to Ed's Diner - have one of their awesome burgers and a spectacular milkshake to find out why. Just make sure you eat when you're finished shopping though as you will just about be able to stagger to your car afterwards with the feeling in your belly. If you go at Christmas there are some superb lights outside as you approach the car parks - giant deers are among the best ones, but be warned, it can get super busy there too. Ample parking means it's not such a chore to go and the whole place is big enough that you don't feel crammed in - it's akin to a lot of the big malls in the States, and one of the best shopping trips (if there is such a thing) you can make in this country.
