Popped in for a quick shop before dinner and there wasn't much of a wow factor other then coming in in November they already have a lot of the holiday decors out. They don't have a lot of stores that would stop in for, pretty much what was appealing to me was things that I was looking for. I live a 15 minute drive from lakeside and I am happy to drive through traffic to go too lakeside. It has all the shops you could ever imagine from Holland and barrette too Thai food. But on the down side it can get quite crowded. But I love the little stands that are there. My favourite place to eat hear is the Thai restaurant. They have subway McDonald's kfc Ed's diner five guys and much more. read more

I'm going there. WHY am I giving someplace in the middle of nowhere, were Anti-social behaviour takes place regularly, where teenagers walk around in stilettos and miniskirts and you can't understand a DAM thing people are saying around you? Two words, my friend: Taco.Bell. Lakeside has a Taco Bell. Which means that this little tex-mex addicted American hauls her rear end alllll the way out here every couple months to assauge that deep down desire for a tortilla filled with fake meat and spices. I do actually enjoy coming to this mall though, because 1) well,....see above and 2) the people watching. My idea of a perfect day is to people watch couples fighting, whilest shouting 'Oy brov, innit!' while happily munching on my Chicken Quesadilla. So much fun, and on the cheap too! You haven't prperly lived til you've survived a trip to Lakeside shopping centre. PS...we once screwed up the train ride and got off a stop early and had to bus to the next stop. Which took almost half an hour. Through fields. past serial-killer houses. Do NOT do this. Stay on the tracks and wait for an hour if you have to but DO.NOT.take the bus system!!! When I was a kid, I liked Lakeside. Why?. Because it had a really cool arcade. My parents could shop all they wanted, it didn't matter - cause I'd spend the time between McDonalds and the arcade, throwing money away. It was great. And then they closed the arcade, meaning all that was left in Lakeside was shopping. I don't like shopping. The ocassional shop is okay but when they cram heaps of them into one place, along with customers, it makes me want to go absolutely mental. I hate it. Who invented shopping malls and what did he have against me?. That's what I want to know. There are many painful phrases in life, i.e. "You're fired" or "it's malignant". But by far the worst phrase has to be "let's go to Lakeside". Endless pointless shops, annoying people and nowhere decent to eat. Famously a few years back there was news that to stop anti-social behaviour they would no longer allow people wearing hoodies to shop there. Not one to miss an opportunity I immediately invested in a hoodie and desperately tried to get kicked out, but it never happened. Lakeside; if you like shopping, and queueing and eating food court food, then you'll have a ball here. But personally, I'd recommend watching paint re-moisten. read more

Lakeside is a big standalone shopping centre and used to be the Bluewater of east London/Essex shopping before Bluewater came along and out-Bluewatered Lakeside! It's a shame that Bluewater is so close by, just across the Thames river because Lakeside is a decent shopping centre with over 250 shops, a Vue cinema and lots of eating options. I came here a fair bit when I used to work close by but these days, if I'm going to travel round the M25 specifically to shop, I would go to Bluewater just because it's a bit bigger and slightly closer to my side of London read more

Lakeside Shopping Centre is just my the Dartford Crossing (J30/31) of the M25 which makes it easily accessible to people from all over London. Lakeside consists of a main shopping centre and several separate retail parks in the surrounding area. The retail parks are within walking distance from the main centre but if you don't fancy that then there are plenty of spaces to make driving a viable option. Almost every shop you could imagine is within reach once you are inside the Lakeside area. It has everything from DIY stores to furniture stores to kit out and decorate your home, clothes stores, book shops large electronics shops too. It is a one stop place for all your needs. There is an equal spread of budget shops such as Primark and Ikea at Lakeside as well as higher end stores such as Hugo Boss and Habitat. Parking is not a problem, after all there are over 13,000 spaces however being so close to the Dartford Crossing means that on days where there is an accident on the M25, the approach to Lakeside can get very congested. It is almost essential to check the travel news before venturing out. The same applies to Christmas and bank holidays where even 13,000 spaces can seem like not enough. Chafford Hundred station is nearby for those travelling by train. Cinemas. restaurants and bars are in the centre should you wish to take a break from shopping or if you wish to make an evening of your trip. read more

Lakeside is a good place to go for most things. All types of shops and good selection of restaurants and entertainment (cinema). Lakeside has given itself a revamp to stand up against the competition near by - bluewater and Westfield. I much prefer going in the evening as it is a lot quieter and I would avoid at the weekend or school holidays. read more

I personally much prefer shopping in Oxford Circus than I do shopping centres. However, there are those few occasions when it's far too cold to be roaming up and down Regent street to shop and on such days - Lakeside is the perfect solution. A great wealth of stores spread out from one end [House of Fraser] to the other [Debenhams], Lakeside is definitely worth a visit. For those of you who love a bargain, Lakeside is home to one of the largest Primark's [according to my mother!] and though it's not a personal fave of mine, I know many enjoy the kindness that Primark bestows upon their personal credit crunch! Recent additions to the centre include an All Saints and a Levis store - both on the 2nd floor. My personal favourite is the 'Build-a-Bear-Factory' - 2nd floor, opposite The Body Shop, besides HMV. Lakeside is a huge shopping centre with over 300 stores located in the middle of a retail park between Essex and East London. Lakeside is similar to Bluewater, but with the vibe of being its poorer cousin. This is not a negative though because it gives you stores like Woolworths, Argos and BHS. Alongside these you still have a huge variety of high street fashion stores and boutique style outlets. There is a Vue cinema and a great array of places to dine, either on a budget or a little more fancy. It would be easy to spend a whole day here, with one of its biggest draws being an Ikea in the same retail park. Lakeside is a great place to shop. read more

I like Lakeside shopping centre but it's got a bit boring where I go there so often. It's convenient, you can take the train, the bus or drive. There are plenty of buses that stop at Lakeside and if you're driving there are more than enough parking spaces and parking is free. Lakeside isn't a designer shopping outlet like Bluewater, the shops at Lakeside are more reasonable with your everyday high street shops such as H&M, Newlook, Topman, Topshop etc. But the only problem with these kind of shops is that they get so boring! If you're feeling hungry there's plenty of places to eat at Lakeside. My favourite places to eat here are Cafe Rouge and La Tasca but if you fancy something more fast then there's a choice of places like McDonald's and KFC etc. In all, it's a good and convenient place to go but could do with a better and more diverse selection of shops. read more

I expected it to be a bit bigger, but the pool of shops is good enough; you'll find all the basics, plus some. The M&S is huge, House of Fraser is a great addition and it has the best Primark branch I've seen in the Uk to date - very well organized, clean and not overcrowded. Parking is plentiful and free, which is more than I can say about Westfield. The restaurants on the Boardwalk are okay - mostly chains, though. Lakeside isn't the place for fine dining, but you'll get cheap, reliable options that please most people, like Wagamama, Taco Bell, La Tasca and Nando's; Miller and Carter is actually a decent steakhouse. Eating by the lake can be very pleasant in summer, but mind the occasional mosquitoes. :) Also the boardwalk shakes a little when people walk past your table - it will take a few minutes untill you get used to it and stop fearing the whole thing will collapse under your feet. The food court upstairs is small, but nicely formed; not a great selection, but there is a good Wasabi, Five Guys and others. Grab your "take away" grub in a bag and enjoy it sitting on the surprisingly comfy green rubber seats at the quiet end. Also, rest assured the wi-fi WILL work on this mall. Again, more than I can say about Westfield... That place needs better signs as the maps actually suck. More toilets (clearly signed) also would be a plus. I am not really sure a branch of Hamley's was needed here, and the staff is quite shouty, jumpy and keen on pulling all sorts of ridiculous acts to try and appear "friendly" to customers/children. Surely it's "house policies" to emulate CBeebies, but not what I needed while trying to enjoy a cappuccino sitting at a café nearby. :) read more

I have to rave about lakeside, i love it. I prefer it to bluewater as i find Bluewater is alot more snobby. Which I dont really understand why, but there are alot more higher class shops at bluewater, and not enough variety - although that is changing now. Lakeside has got shops for everyone, from Choice and Cecil Gee right through to Primark etc. I find everything i need there and thats what i love, that you dont have to keep running around in different areas. Yes at xmas it is packed, but most places are. Many people park in the outside car parks, but if you drive round the back and go in the multi story there is plenty of room - and you can get access into debenhams straight away from level 3 so no need to go outside in the bad weather!! There are loads of different places to eat, and even a cinema if you fancy it. I do not think it is showing its age personally, i have been to MK city center and its shops are practically the same - only difference is MK has about 3 different shops of the same thing (There are h samuels everywhere!!) Think the layout is practically the same there, as in the style - all cream marble style flooring. Defo a good place to shop!! read more

Huge shopping centre set on a giant retail park in Thurrock. Easily reached by car on the A13 or by train - go to the Chafford Hundred railway station and just walk across the bridge. Full of hundreds of shops including favourites such as Topshop, Oasis, Primark, New Look and so many more. There is a food court on the third level which is full of fast food outlets or, if you prefer a nicer, sit down meal, try the boardwalk outside by the lake. There you cna find Wagamamas, Bella Italia, Las Iguanas, Nandos and more. If you get bored with shopping, there's a Vue cinema to entertain you into the evening. Gets very busy at weekends and is unbearable near Christmas. read more

Good range of shops some one which are a bit down market Primark, BHS, woolies etc. but there is nothing wrong with that sometimes that is what you want. I think it badly needs a wilkinsons. They put on good activities for children in the holidays. I have friends who like to shop I'm not a huge fan myself, but I'm not adverse to a day out somewhere, and so I have on occasion gone to some of these big shopping centres for the day. It's actually a lot better for me than a high street basically because it's all flat and it's inside and when you use a wheelchair, that makes life SO much easier! I have to admit that probably because I don't like shopping as much as some people I'm not as enamoured with these big places as others are. It also maybe has to do with living practically on top of one of the best shopping centres in the country so my view point is maybe a little different. I find Lakeside a bit over the top in some ways, it's got a lovely setting, but no one ever really looks at it because most people drive in, park go into the shopping centre and then drive out again when they're done so no one seems to sit out and enjoy the lakes and trees and so on which does seem a shame. There are masses of shops, I have no idea how many, but I reckon you could spend several days in the place and still not have time to really look at everything in every store. Good if you like that sort of thing, but maybe not as good as The Centre MK or BlueWater. read more

Lakeside is one of those places that you have a love hate relationship with. The number of shops and the ease of shopping there is great. Getting there is not so great. You do have the C2C trains to Chafford Hundred, but it's still a ride out from inner London. Bus access is better for local people and even reaches as far out as the Rainham area. Another hate thing is that it gets busy. This is just a fact of all shopping centres, so it can be disregarded, the only place you are not going to have this problem is on the internet with your credit card number! read more

Lakeside at Thurrock, Essex is a massive shopping complex with all your favourite stores and provides an excellent shopping experience. All the shops are under cover on three huge floors. All your favourite high street names are there and the prices are very competetive. There are some huge department stores Debenhams and John Lewis as well as smaller shops and kiosks in the lower deck. You will always find a bargain to be had in the variety of shops which all offer a ' Price Promise Scheme' should you find the goods cheaper elsewhere. Facilities are excellent with plenty of toilets and washing facilities and there are plenty of places to eat offering various styles of cuisine. Lakeside is a wonderful shopping experience for all. Go early or late to beat the worst of the Christmas Rush which incidentally starts about November time. read more

I like Lakeside. A lot. It's showing its age a bit now but its still a good place to go shopping for all kinds of things. They have most high street shops here and a few different ones, especially in the 'market hall' thing downstairs. When you've had enough of shopping there's a fairly decent, if run of the mill, foodhall and the mini pizza hut is cool! Parking can be a nightmare, especially at Christmas, so if you live near-ish then a bus might be a good call. read more

In recent times, intu have revamped Lakeside and I must say that there is a noticeable difference over the past few years. I had arrived by train in the C2C line, and with the walkway from directly from Chafford Hundred station, over a bridge and straight into the shops, it's very good for those who don't drive. A very wide selection of shops, ranging from cheap £ shops to extravagant jewellery shops. Plenty of places to eat too in the food court. read more

I go lakeside a lot I like the fact that it stays open till 10pm in the week which means I can leave my house at about 7.30 pm and it takes me 20 mins to get there also it's a lot less busy that time at night, it has most stores you need for for all occasions but does lack a good range of mens clothes shops, over all the they have a good choice of places to eat and places to get gifts for people but if I'm going to buy clothes for my self I will go to bluewater. read more

Lakeside is absolutely massive, with 2 floors for shopping and the top floor for food. I enjoy going there as the shops have much more variety as they are bigger and there are so many different shops you are spoilt for choic. Definetly worth a visit, especially for getting your xmas shopping done. read more

Lakeside is OK, has all the shops you'd expect to see but I don't know what it is about the place it just seems to have something missing. I can't put my finger on what it is but I always feel uncomfortable there and much prefer Bluewater plus I hate having to come home over that scary Dartford bridge. I always remember the first time I went here - I couldn't believe the sheer size of the centre. Lakeside (and it's surrounding retail park) has virtually everything you need in one place. Can, and does, get busy at peak time but you can usually find parking somewhere within the complex. Recommended. read more

Looking a bit dated now, but everything you need is here and it's free and easy to park. But where has Gap gone? The boardwalk is nice for food, love Wagamamma. It's really well laid out and you can pretty much find any high st name in the centre. Marks and Spencer have a really big store, as do Debenhams and House of Fraser. Lakeside shopping centre is Essex's largest shopping centre. Set just off the M25 motorway (very easy access from all directions) just before the QE2 bridge / Dartford tunnel. There is a phenomenal amount of shops all set in an undercover warm and comfy environment, as well as the verity of shops Lakeside also hosts a very large multi-screen cinema and many different types of restaurants and bars for a full day out experience, that coupled with free parking makes lakeside a very good day out without the need of the car (apart from getting there that is) there is even a train station nearby so you can even get there from central and east London. read more

This Shopping Centre at West Thurrock Essex is just towards the eastern boundary of London. On a swarming 200 acres of land, it has several shops with department stores, restaurants and 33 cafes. Apart from that there is a lake named Alexandra which stands on 26 acres with a diving school. About 500,000 visitors visit this Lakeside per week. The centre has a large and spacious car parking facility where you can park about 14, 000 cars and multi-store car park is also available for the peak hours of the day. This shopping centre has direct link towards the railway station, to M25 motorway and to the road which connects the east London. With myriad ranges, this place is a pleasure to visit. The new development of this shopping centre is its new lighting, flooring, ceiling and the glass roofs which add an extra gleam to the complex. The centre has also introduced faster lifts and 4 escalators. The Lakeside area is connected to the shopping centre which gives a market look. I live 5 minutes away from Bluewater, so I only go to Lakeside a few times a year. I went last week, and it was packed! Managed to eventually find a space on the top level of one of the carparks after 30 minutes driving round, and round, and round! The restaurant area is lovely, plently of choice. Plenty of shops to browse and spend your money. read more

Lakeside is close to where we live therefore it is the most convenient shopping centre to attend to. I am recommending spending the summer time weekends drinking a beer at any of the restaurants near the lake. read more

I love lakeside. Don't really have anything bad to say about it. It has many parking space. Doesn't matter when you come there will be space even though you make take time to look for it which is rare. Maximum it will take 5 mins to find parking space. That's not really that long, maybe even less. Lakeside has a total of 13,000 car par spaces. Every single one of car park spaces are FREE. I love that word, anything free I jump at it. For those who are disabled or find it hard to walk you can rent out mobility scooters and wheelchairs free of charge. There are many big named shops like House of Fraser, Debenhams, Primark and M&S. Also Next, BHS, Boots, Woolworths and Argos. Primark is a big favourite of mine you can get such good prices. I got two pairs of gloves for 2 pound I think it was. There also many different types of shops to suit you're fancy. There are so many different types of shops you are spoilt for choice. Lakeside is quite large but all that walking is tiring. There little places to eat on level 1 and level 2. But a whole section dedicated to different foods. On level 3, from KFC, to an Indian. Level 3 has many seats so it is idea for families. So you never really end up standing. So many places to eat in lakeside. You can Choose from La Tasca, Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Giraffe, Cafe Rouge, Bella Italia, Wagamama, Strada, Old Orleans, Nando's and Spur. Plus Hannah Banana - a new concept in entertainment of children! Lakeside offers pure variety with food and shopping. There also baby changing facilities for both mom and dad. The baby changing facilities can be found on level 3. Also in M&S, Next and Debenhams and house of Frasier by the toilet. There also shopping locker were one can keep his or her valuables. There is a charge of 3.50 pound an hour. This is paid when you come back to collect valuables. These lockers are secure. These can be used to store heavy shopping bags instead of carrying them around. There is also a Vue cinema inside Lakeside. This can keep the whole family entertained. I live in Chafford Hundred and Lakeside to me is local shops and amenities. To be honest the shops are a bit bland but it is really convenient if you live near it. You cant really beat the late evening shopping (the banks open until 7-8pm and some of the department stores open until 11pm!) read more

I really like going to lakeside, as I live close by, the only thing I would say is either go during the evening (week days) or early on at the weekend, as the place is usually heaving. The traffic is always really congested around lakeside on a weekend too, so always leave time for that before you even get to shop! The car parking is free though, and I have never really had a problem finding a space. There is Chafford Hundred station close by, if you dont fancy driving there. I personally prefer Lakeside as I think there are a variety of shops there, that suit everybody, Bluewater (across the dartford bridge) is a more upmarket version of lakeside, but I feel more comfortable walking around Lakeside. There is now a great new parade of restaurants there called the Boardwalk, they have something for all tastes, they also have a Vue Cinema there, which has really comfortable seating and is very spacious. read more
