We have been taking our 4 children to Dr. Dave for over 10yrs now. Dr. Dave is the best! He's so friendly and easy going with all the kids. He takes his time explaining things to the parents and makes sure everyone is comfortable. A while back our son with autism that was seen in a different ER for an illness and was brushed off as "not too sick" yet as soon as we got back home and Dr. Dave saw him, he knew immediately my son needed to be admitted. My boy was severely dehydrated from a nasty virus and if Dr. Dave didn't catch that I don't know where we'd be today. All my kids love Dr. Dave and they are getting to know the newest addition, Dr. Ellie, Dr. Dave's son. Dr. Ellie seems just as caring and friendly as his father. Dr. Ellie took the extra time to give my older typical son a "fake check up" to help my son with autism not be scared for his turn to be examined. I know people who have since moved and the will drive over an hour to keep Dr. Dave as their doctor. I must agree.

The DAY before his 2-month checkup, the billing department calls to tell me they won't see him anymore until it becomes active. I explained the situation, reminded them my older child is insured through the same plan, and even offered to PAY OUT OF POCKET. Their answer? "We can't see him without active insurance." For a WELLNESS visit. For a newborn. I couldn't believe how little they cared. No options, no effort to help, nothing. Just "no insurance, no visit." Thankfully my baby wasn't sick, because apparently they wouldn't have seen him anyway. This whole situation was completely out of my control, and the lack of compassion or common sense was unbelievable. I've never felt so dismissed by a medical office. I've already switched to a new pediatrician who actually prioritizes patient care instead of hiding behind insurance policies.

We had found ourselves ignored at larger city pediatric groups and were recommended to Dr. Weems, a decision that we are thankful for every single day. Dr. Weems is incredibly caring, compassionate, forthright, knowledgeable and brings a down-to-earth, parent-to-parent approach to our daughter's care. Plus, it is unbelievably apparent how much she truly cares about our little one on a personal level. There are very few days where we don't talk, check-in and just connect on the happenings in our complicated medical situation. We often rely on her as a pillar of support and to help us when we don't know where to turn. She is truly the backbone of our greater support team and she works with all of our doctors at Lurie's, visits our daughter in the hospital and does ANYTHING she can to provide world-class care. As a parent, the most important thing is the health and well-being of our children and to feel like we have a partner in this convoluted healthcare system that has our best interests in mind. She is always responsive and available no matter the hour. She is the most well networked doctor I've ever met. My daughter needed to see a plastic surgeon for a birthmark removal and I had trouble getting an appointment. Dr. Weems called the surgeon directly and I had an appointment the next day. I have many more stories like this highlighting the ways she's saved us. Best investment and decision we've made! We only have the best things to say!

She offers great advice and she is always well informed. The other Doctor here is Doctor Han, who is a good Pediatric doc, but he has an accent so it is a bit more difficult communicating. Although, kudos to him, he does take the time to get his point across. I remember during an early baby appointment he drew us a diagram on the bed tissue paper, hehe. It was very helpful. The office is clean and the rooms are kid friendly with wall stickers everywhere (different theme per room). They usually have some cartoons or kid show playing in the lobby. The hours are good, open Weekdays and Saturdays. Kids can get a sticker on the way out, and getting an appointment is generally pretty quick. The staff is friendly and great with kids.

Before I could even sit down to fill out the paperwork they were bringing me back to an exam room. So I waited like, zero minutes! The nurse doing the vitals was very friendly and very fun to work with. She took all the stress out of the appointment. Dr. Steve was awesome! Very calming, and listened to my issues. Dr. Steve and I talked about my problem and generated a solution, more like we were a team working together. I liked that. And they have the My Chart App. that was awesome because the flu shots that I've gotten an Walgreens were automatically loaded into the app. That's pretty cool. I was out of the office probably in less than a half an hour. This will sound weird, but I can't wait to get sick again to go back. They gave me better service that I've gotten in some five star restaurants.

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this pediatric clinic…read more At my newborn's first appointment, just two days after being discharged from the hospital, Dr. Michael O'Donnell examined my baby. My baby had been delivered with vacuum assistance after a difficult labor lasting more than two hours, which resulted in a small scalp abrasion and some temporary head molding. Every doctor and nurse at the hospital had reassured us that the injury was healing normally and that everything looked fine. However, Dr. O'Donnell told us that our baby needed to go to the emergency room immediately and suggested the situation could be very serious. As new parents, this caused enormous stress and panic. We dropped everything, rushed to the ER, and after a full evaluation, we were told that there was nothing seriously wrong with our baby. The entire ordeal felt unnecessary and created significant anxiety during an already difficult postpartum period. What was even more frustrating was the behavior of the front desk staff. When we brought our newborn in for an early pediatric visit, the staff refused to allow the appointment because our baby did not yet have insurance (she did not have Social Security Number as she was not even a month old baby at that time). Any parent of a newborn knows that obtaining a Social Security Number takes time. Despite this, the staff insisted that our baby could not be seen. Only after escalating the situation did a doctor step in and confirm that the appointment could proceed normally. This experience made me feel that the staff either lacked proper training or did not understand standard newborn insurance procedures. The doctors may be knowledgeable, but the unnecessary emergency referral and the extremely poor handling by the front desk left me with little confidence in this clinic. New parents deserve accurate guidance, professionalism, and compassion! NOT confusion, stress, and obstacles to receiving care.

We typically see the nurse practitioners and they have all been awesome. I've seen two doctors and one was fantastic- the other I'll make sure to never schedule my kids with again. They're great at same day appointments. They fit my kids in quickly, and they also work to schedule them for same day visits. I'm very impressed with how our kids are talked to and taken care of by majority of the providers at this office.

She was having a difficult time with some sounds making it hard for people outside the family to understand her. Lacie did an evaluation and started working with her once a week.
