Highly recommended! I needed help and guidance in cleaning the filter for our septic. As I made…read moremy appointment, the nice lady said that they normally don't just come out to do this and would if they were emptying my tank. We've lived here less than a year, and I knew that wasn't needed, but I agreed to it since I needed the knowledge for cleaning the filter. Matt came out to educate me on the type of septic we have and how it works. He showed me how and cleaned the filter. He said the septic did not need to be emptied and could have easily taken advantage of the situation. He was honest and did not. He spent the time with me to be sure I knew what and how to clean the filter. Upon doing this, there were a few things overlooked from the builder's POV. Great company from this first time user and will be calling them from now on. Sue

When I complained about their pricing I was told they use the national average, and I could have had a free estimate done, if I'd asked. I didn't ask because I expected fair pricing. But to have the tech come was $109.00 unrefundable service fee. He was there, I needed water, so I said okay. I will never use them or recommend them again. Their name is appropriate, Advantage takes Advantage. I want Michigan pricing, not some National Average they dreamed up.

TL;dr Johnson Septic…read morewas helpful, knowledgeable, and prompt (early!). They charged a reasonable price. Long version Brown water was rising from tenants' bathtubs, and toilets wouldn't flush, despite regular septic servicing. Called my regular company (now previous) in the morning requesting emergency service, but was told all their appointments were emergencies and it would be a few days. I understand that this is the beginning of peak season, but I've been a faithful client. Maybe they were having a bad day, but I doubt there was fecal matter in their tub. I called and emailed over a dozen companies, most did not reply. A few replied, saying they couldn't help, one very kindly recommended other companies, including Johnson Septic. Johnson agreed to make room in their schedule the next day, and told me their prices, which are based on the volume removed. I did not feel that I was up-charged for the emergency nature. I called for my service window this morning, and received a call when the truck was 25 minutes away. The techs were extremely polite ("Sir/Ma'am" polite) and answered all my questions, even though I asked some twice. They found the problem (a wipesburg), removed it, and flushed the tanks. My tenants are happy, I'm happy. I hope you will be happy with their service too.
