Currently I think of Pawtucket as "the place where Slater Mill and the DMV and Kafe Lila and Machines With Magnets are," but if I spend enough time at KL and MWM, my view will undoubtedly become more nuanced. Machines With Magnets is a recording studio, art gallery, and performance space that has fast become my favorite music venue and possibly one of my favorite places in Rhode Island. The inside is beautiful, with two large rooms decked out in cool white paint and beautiful hardwood flooring (one floor is stenciled with an absolutely stunning pattern). Art of varied quality adorns the walls. I have now had the pleasure of attending two shows here--an electronic music performance and Quintron + Miss Pussycat--and I enjoyed them both. Watching bands perform with art as a backdrop is a pleasure. The sound is good and the venue is run fairly efficiently. At the latter show, they quickly cycled through four bands by alternating the rooms in which each band performed. Very smart. The crowds are fun and interesting. Drinks, Dunkin' Donuts coffee, and even pizza are sold for reasonable prices. During my first visit, a friend turned to me and said, "I wish I lived here." "I wish I could DJ here," I replied. Until either of these things happens, I'll be stopping in periodically for more music and art. You should, too.

When I asked if they had fries I got "Fries? We have the best fries in the state" and I was skeptical but ok, we got a couple of baskets. They were devoured. Hand cut and perfectly salted. I think they have seasoned fries too - but I haven't ever tried them. I don't stray. My other fav there is the chicken caesar pizza. They also have a great beer selection, and when I asked if they had Peanut Butter Whiskey they did within a few hours. Mondays they have a comedy open mic - I enjoy watching a friend of mine go and try out new material. And the variety of other performers. I am a sap and I love the support from comedians to each other that you sometimes see. On weekends they have live music and I have unexpectedly seen some fun local musicians. Between it's close proximity to my house and the comfortable atmosphere I am always down for a Pub on Park night. And the fries.

CUSTOMERS BEWARE - The Event Factory, Warwick, RI I want to…read moreshare my experience regarding the cancellation of the Cumberland High School Class Reunion that was scheduled for August 14, 2026, at The Event Factory in Warwick, RI. Since the event was canceled, multiple attendees have been seeking information regarding ticket refunds. Despite numerous emails and follow-up attempts, we have received little to no communication regarding the status of those refunds. I also went to The Event Factory in person to try to address the matter directly with owner Hugo R. Adames. I was told that Mr. Adames was not on the premises and was unavailable to speak with me. I was subsequently told that he was actually in the back of the building. I left my contact information with an employee and was told that Mr. Adames would contact me to address the matter. To date, I have received absolutely no response. There are also other circumstances that have raised serious concerns for me about the current operation of this business: * The phone number associated with the business is reportedly no longer in operation. * The business's website lists specific business hours, yet the establishment appears to be rarely open during those advertised hours. * I have spoken with an alcohol distributor who told me that they are no longer supplying The Event Factory because money is allegedly owed to them. Taken together with the lack of communication regarding refunds for a canceled event, these circumstances raise serious questions about the current status and operation of the business. People paid money for an event that was canceled. Those customers deserve communication, transparency, and the return of money owed to them. CUSTOMERS BEWARE. Before booking an event or purchasing tickets through The Event Factory, I strongly encourage you to do your own research and consider the experiences of previous customers. If you purchased tickets for the Cumberland Class Reunion and are still waiting for your refund, please share your experience. The more information affected customers have, the better informed everyone can be about doing business with this venue.

This is a great place to come hang out with or without friends.

We ended up taking The Jake lounge, which worked out perfect for us. We had our own bathrooms and had our own bartender and servers. Highly recommend it if you are throwing an event!
