Burgundy might be great for some women, but not for me, I have a very conservative look. As soon as I was able, I had Darci correct the horrible dye job so I could look and feel like myself again. After that mess with the other "stylist", I began seeing Darci for all my haircuts. Darci does an amazing job with my thick, naturally curly, red hair, she even gives me great styling tricks to make taming my unruly mane quick and easy. Darci moved to a salon a bit farther from us and a few months back my boyfriend made the mistake of going to some barber who butchered his hair giving him the worst hair cut I have ever seen. I was horrified and promptly scheduled an emergency appointment with Darci to try and fix it before an event the next night. Let me tell you, Darci performed a miracle on that hack job and although it took two cuts for it to grow out, Darci did an amazing job making him look presentable again. He will never make the mistake of going to anyone else and now we make the short trip to Auburn every few weeks to get the best cut for my mans great hair. Not being familiar with the area or knowing anyone, I looked on YELP and I found my stylist forever! Darci is AMAZING! She was able to match my hair color perfectly as if I had gone to her for years. The cut was stylish and she takes time to listen to what you want (something most hairsylists fail to do once they have their scissors in hand). I made an appointment with Jaimie, initially planning to get a perm because I thought adding body might solve my hair issues. During my appointment, Jaimie took the time to discuss my concerns, how I typically styled my hair, the products I used, and the time I spent on my daily routine. After carefully evaluating my hair and listening to my goals, she recommended against a perm. Instead, she suggested a cut that would better suit my hair and texturize the heavier, unmanageable areas. Using AI, I sent messages to three salons -- including Lox & Hue. I heard back from another salon first, but first thing Monday morning I received a message from Jaimie, the owner of Lox & Hue. She told me she was on her way into the salon and would let me know if they had any openings that day. She was immediately on it. When I explained in my message how upset and devastated I was about my hair, Jaimie went out of her way to work me in. I was already so grateful before I even walked through the door. I ended up seeing Kathleen, and the second she smiled and said hello, I just knew I had found my salon. She is so sweet, incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and so easy to talk to. She took the time to go over everything with me before doing anything at all -- explaining the plan, asking questions, and making sure I was comfortable and confident with every step. The salon has multiple products I've tried & Carola has tried on my hair. They keep up to date on new styles, colors, cuts, & products. Currently I'm really liking the Leaf & Flower volume for my fine wavy hair. When I bring in my 11 y/o boys for a haircut, my 9 y/o daughter comes too. If it's not time for her to get a haircut, sometimes Carola will do a cute braid with sparkle tencel in it. Carola has always been professional, kind, caring, & gentle. I've watched her over the years cut many kids hair. I've been most impressed by her cutting the kids hair that either have special needs or are noise adverse to the clippers used on the boys. Her calmness, patience, & being able to switch to different methods when one isn't working to get a child through a haircut, is highly impressive as a nurse! Many that can do kids haircuts don't have that stamina or patience.
