Decided to stop here after checking out the to grab some supplies and the design of the parking lot and flow is a nightmare. It wasn't even that busy, but how the walkway is the designed creates a gridlock at the entrance. Vehicles have to wait for pedestrians getting off their car and are waking towards the entrance while people who are done shopping are simultaneously rolling their carts the other direction into the parked vehicle creating a clusterfuck. I know pedestrians have the right of way, but holey cannoli. It's like these people don't even drive themselves and are just taking their sweet time walking back-and-forth without a care for traffic backing up from the entrance. I wish I had known about the other entrance and exit located further down the street, but it was already too late. Once inside, this location doesn't carry that many items, and I was particularly looking for some motor oil and they didn't have any. I grabbed some supplies for my dogs, and some laundry items and decided to end my shopping while I proceeded towards the cash registers. All the lines were busy backing up into the aisles and I decided to head to the line closest to the entrance. While waiting in line, there were some other shoppers who decided to cut in the middle of the aisle and while I was nice enough to let one through, two others behind the guy I let through thought they had the right-of-way and took advantage of my generosity and said they were there first. Um....no. The lines to the cash registers are going straight, but if you're on the sides, then we must go in an alternate order similar to merging into traffic like a zipper. But no, they weren't playing nice, so I abandoned my cart and left. Didn't have the energy or time of day to start arguing so I left it as is to keep my peace. This location also doesn't have a gas station so boohoo.

Then he got a few trapezoidal diamonds I can choose from of different sizes so we knew what the ring would look like. I also added nubs in the ring so it didn't fall and a European shank as he suggested because I hate when rings fall between your fingers from weight. My aquarium lights' ballast died. I'd buy a whole new lid but the tank is an odd shape, so I gotta keep that lid and replace the ballast, right? I did this same thing the previous time the ballast died in this lid by buying the part from the lone company in all of the Bay Area that carried this brand of aquarium but no go this year: the retail arm of that aquarium store closed down and I didn't know what kind of alternative replacement I should look for plus I'm all the way up by SFO and not down south in my home town because like a fool I drove all the way up to the now-closed aquarium store without calling first. Did I mention I needed to get lights back over that aquarium ASAP? It's a planted tank, not a goldfish bowl with rainbow gravel and plastic plants. My real plants need light. Enter Siri, who told me All Industrial Electric Supply was near by. I start driving over and then think "With that kind of name, they probably don't sell to the public." So I call, and explain my predicament to the incredibly nice woman who answered the phone and she tells me, "Not a problem, just come over." So I wander into their will-call area, there's a counter back there and Tony is manning the counter and wow, he's also incredibly nice. He took a look at the lid and the light and the busted ballast, figured out what would work (and even more importantly, what would fit because we're talking about a tiny narrow space in an aquarium lid for this ballast), printed out a wiring diagram for me, put all my bits and pieces of my aquarium lid into a nice sturdy box and even carried it all out to my car. On top of all that, I was blown away that they had this part in stock, right there and waiting for me to buy and take home today. The previous time that the ballast died in this lid, I took it to a local high end lamp shop for repair. The lamp shop had my lid on their repair bench for two months trying to locate the right part before I gave up on waiting and took the lid back, still with its dead ballast. While Tony was pulling the part from their cavernous warehouse (seriously, envision the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark) and later while he was printing out the diagram, no fewer than 6 other employees walked by the counter and every single one of them smiled and asked me if I was being taken care of. To which I can only say, yes, you all took very good care of me. Thank you Tony and the rest of the crew at All Industrial Electric, you is good people.

Sometimes an update is deserving when something exemplary happens…read more It actually stems from a disappointing experience with a pop-up vendor that makes auto key copies, sometimes on site or, more often than not, takes orders before making another appointment to make the key(s) when they are at the location again. I placed an order in March and waited until late May to check on my order for a key for my brother's 2011 Toyota Sienna that we intended to sell. Because of the time lapse, we decided to cancel the order and ask for a refund. One of the Costco managers asked me about my situation and called the company in trying to get an immediate approval for my refund but we hit a roadblock as they, being east coast based, asked us to call them back. The manager took my info and told me he'd call me after working on this with them. The next day, he called me and told me the seller insisted that I be present for the call before they'd approve it so I may an appointment to return a week later during my regular Costco shopping day. We met up again and he explained the process before heading to their office and speaking with them on their landline speaker phone. A short time later, we walked to the returns counter and my refund was completed. Big thanks to David for his patience and attention to details in helping me resolve this complicated situation. As with the other veteran staff there, he is friendly and helpful in making my shopping experience seamless.
