We went to Arvo Café for my birthday breakfast, and everything really hit the spot. The egg salad open-face sandwich was super flavorful -- in addition to the standard egg salad fixings, they add capers! So good! Their chia seed pudding cup was also really satisfying with great texture. And the Arvo Green Salad is always a favorite of mine; it's fresh, bright, and full of flavor every time. Since Arvo is such a popular spot, the wait can be a little unpredictable depending on when you go, but it's always worth it. The service is welcoming, and my chai latte was refreshing without being too sweet. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in the SALT Barn, which made the whole breakfast feel relaxed and easy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] And with SALT's parking structure, finding parking is usually not an issue at all. Overall, Arvo is one of those places that we visit when we're out early on a Saturday or Sunday on the hunt for breakfast -- perfect for a casual breakfast or something a little more special.

Arvo Café is an outdoorsy cafe perfect for breakfast and coffee with friends. I always get their Loaded Avocado Toast, which is good but a little hard to eat neatly. The iced americano was also a nice treat. Vibe: [[HIGHLIGHT]]They only offer outdoor seating and get pretty busy, but usually there's always tables available.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The wait for food isn't that long and it's a nice spot to sit and chat over brunch. Parking: Salt Kaka'ako has a paid parking lot with lots of stalls. There's also metered street parking throughout the area.
I tried every matcha latte at every cafe at Salt and within 1 mile radius of Salt. In my opinion, Arvo's matcha latte tastes the best. I get it iced with soy milk. Arvo's matcha is on the sweeter side but still has the umami and grassiness of matcha with a deep green color. I also love their charcoal latte and loaded avo toast. Everything tastes great. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Located right in the middle of SALT At Our Kaka'ako is Arvo Cafe, a cute little cafe that sells very aesthetic-looking food and drinks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I've been wanting to try this place out but always ended up being in the Kaka'ako area hours after Arvo Cafe closes. I originally wanted to get the egg salad toast but they were sold out by the time I got to Arvo Cafe - I still want to try this out the next time I come here. I ordered the Meatballs and Toast ($15) and it felt like a simple yet filling dish. The tomatoes and the ricotta really boosted the flavor and mouthfeel of the dish. The two pieces of bread were bigger than I thought. Both pieces had a nice crunch on the outside and a fluffy center. The presentation of the food was very pretty! I also got the Iced Chocolate ($5.50) which just tasted like an improved chocolate milk. Not overly sweet and fulfilled my chocolate cravings. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The overall presentation of Arvo Cafe is cute and perfect for individuals and small groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I also really like how they have umbrellas over the tables to provide shade.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]My one gripe that Arvo Cafe has no control over is the fact that customers may get bothered by birds a lot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I fortunately didn't have any birds bothering me while I ate but there were two different tables nearby that had to constantly shoo away birds.
Staff: Vibrant, friendly, helpful young people Location: set back off the street in the SALT mall. Outdoor seating. DIY water station. Food: Interesting menu. Vegetarian and non vegetarian options. For the veggies I recommend the haloumi "burger" slab of cheese grilled and served in a good bun with toppings. Egg salad with capers was good but mild. Ricotta toast was mellow and came with fresh fruit on top. All servings were large. Coffee with the ash was good, except the last sip, which was gritty.
Thanks for the puppuccino!! I had a small iced dirty chai, it was gone too soon next time I'm ordering a large because it was so good. I appreciated how light it felt and the sweetness was just right, nothing tasted too overwhelming. I didn't have the opportunity to order any of the toast options available, but I will be sure to come back for them. The avocado toast and the egg salad toast I saw other people getting looked too good to miss out on.

Truly obsessed with Arvo Cafe. I came for an Iced Matcha Latte for the first time here in 2022 and remembered it being delicious - flavorful, not bitter, not too sweet, and creamy. So, when visiting Oahu again, Arvo was 100% on my list and it sooooo exceeded my expectations even then! I came back twice in 3 days and only wished I could have gone more often during my stay! I got their Lilikoi Cream Top Iced Matcha Latte, and it is seriously so good. The Lilikoi Cream gives the Matcha a fruity tartness that balances the strong matcha flavor really well and feels super refreshing! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cafe space itself is really cute. They have pretty limited seating, with less inside than outside. But their outdoor tables do have umbrellas covering them to help with the sun.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The cafe also had a clothing rack out with some second-hand items they were selling at honestly very fair prices. I even ended up picking up a swimsuit on my second visit here!

I would also say that as far as drinks, I would actually prefer hot over ice because I feel like the foam and flavoring are stronger. Workers are always pretty friendly lines could get long, but they are able to turn around the food a pretty quick. Order up at the front, take a seat, then they will call your name to pick up. The price prices are higher, but I think it's totally worth it because I feel like the quality ingredients they use are top-notch. Very simple food but everything works together so well.
To start with the good... The service was fine. Not over the top friendly but just efficient which I appreciate. The location is a small little space with outdoor seating at SALT kakaako. The place and food are aesthetically pleasing. I got the matcha chia pudding (hyped from social media) and to put it bluntly- it's overhyped and mid. It's $12 for a mediocre dish liked only for the "presentation." The fruit wasn't good, the matcha cream on top was literally matcha whipped cream, and the chia pudding at the bottom tasted like nothing. No it's not filling and no it isn't AMAZING like these influencers say. The coffee as well... got an ice latte and cold brew- both weirdly sour and very acidic. And for $5 for a small cup? No. No thank you. Won't be returning.

Okay let's explain why I rated 3 stars. The matcha was a bit watered down. The salmon toast was lacking cream cheese for the price & my friends meat ball plate only came with two meatballs. When there is moku kitchen across the street for happy hour, you regret not just waiting to go there. ARVO is a cool coffee shop offering a fresh variety of espresso drinks, tees, sandwiches and toasts. It's typically my first stop when I arrive in Honolulu. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Great for coffee, breakfast and/or lunch, they offer a mix of great menu items you can eat right there in the spacious open-air food court.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you cannot decide what to order, the staff is friendly so they'll steer you toward something delicious. I'm a big fan of the Halloumi Burger (more of a Haloumi "sandwich" in my opinion) which is packed with a fusion of flavor. It pairs great with their fresh potato chips that come on the side. The espresso is also some of the best, so don't skip ordering a beverage! read more

Parking is easy in the Salt Kakaako lot. I always passed by here but never when they were open. Finally was able to make it in the morning and they had a long line whoa. I opted for one of their signature drinks - the Charcoal Latte. The charcoal gave it a black look which I absolutely loved. It looked very sleek and chic. Upon trying it definitely had a bit of a grainier texture that sort of resembled how I would imagine charcoal to taste - except it blended perfectly with the rest of the flavors in the drink. I would definitely get this again! Did I also mention that their decor is super cute. I love the live plants and outdoor seating tables with umbrellas that they have propped up. I never realized that this place gets so busy so definitely be prepared to stand in line. read more

I really wanted to love Arvo Café, but unfortunately my first visit was underwhelming. I ordered a matcha, two of their food items (the avocado toast and smoked salmon toast), plus a slice of banana bread. Everything looked nice when served, but the flavors just didn't stand out -- nothing felt particularly special or memorable. The matcha especially was a letdown, lacking the richness I was hoping for. That being said, I do want to give this place another chance. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is cute, and I know some spots just require finding the right drink or dish.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I'll be back to try something different next time, especially since I love the Salt District and was excited to see what Arco had to offer. read more

Pretty Place, But the Drink Missed the Mark Arvo has a cute vibe and definitely looks like the kind of place you'd expect quality, handcrafted drinks--but that wasn't my experience. I ordered the ombré lemonade, which they advertise as handmade and artisanal. Honestly? It tasted just like Country Time powder mix. No freshness, no depth--just sugary, artificial-tasting lemonade with layered coloring to make it look good on Instagram. I took one sip and that was it--it was that bad. For the price and the branding, I expected way better. It's frustrating when a place puts more effort into the aesthetic than the actual product. If you're just there for the photos, sure. But if you're looking for flavor and quality, I'd pass on the drinks. read more

Second time back and we love it here. We came towards end of time so it wasn't as busy. Word of advice if you come after 12pm they will be sold out of a lot of the menu items. Came around 1pm and there was no egg salad or meatballs. The worker was super friendly and let us know we they were out and what are option were. The salmon with capers is super fresh and big portion. Trendy area with lots around it. Lots of seating with umbrellas. read more

Sunday fun-day! Decided to come and enjoy some toast since it's been a minute since my last visit. Party of 2, we ordered the tried and true avocado toast and Nutella toast! Delicious and worth every penny! I finally got the matcha chia seeds to try too and it was pretty good. I'd get it again but it's not my all time favorite. I was able to find street parking but they do have a covered parking lot; ample parking. Their service is alright, there's a little bit of an off vibe but maybe that's just how the younger generation is nowadays. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, they still helped out and since it's a self seating/outdoor tables type of thing their off vibes didn't bother us so much.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Other than that, Arvo's is still a really good spot for breakfast and brunch! My friend had a meeting nearby so I walked over to SALT to get some coffee. I wasn't going to eat as I was trying to pick up coffee from another place but when I walked by Arvo and saw the amazing toasts they offered, I had to get one too. I ordered a smoked salmon toast and grabbed a table nearby to get some work done. There are quite a bit of tables to eat from and since it was early in the morning, it was relatively quiet with some soft music in the background. The girl at the counter was really nice and quick with my order. The toast is AMAZING. The bread itself was thick and toasty and slathered with a thick layer of cream cheese and then topped with some spinach, smoked salmon, capers, and purple onions. It's a simple meal but every bite was perfect! I was thoroughly happy with my meal. I'm definitely recommending this place to all my friends and i'll definitely be back again if i'm in the area! read more
i love arvo!!! such a cute location, the ambiance and whole seating area is so so cute!! such nice workers the girl that took my order was so sweet and not to mention gorgeous. i got the avocado toast and a side of the meatballs. love that they are grass fed and seriously they are so so good. better than some i've had at authentic italian restaurants. the avocado toast was sooooo good. i LOVE avocado toast and this one is a good one! the bread is so nice and thick and perfectly toasted. i can't wait to go back and try different toasts!! read more

First time here, I got the matcha chia pudding and the loaded Avacado toast. 7/10 for the matcha pudding I loved the topping but the fruit was a bit tart and the chia pudding didn't really have a matcha taste to it even after combining all the components I get kept this almost acidic after taste. Will try again 5/10 for the loaded Avacado toast it's pretty basic and doesn't have really much flavor to it I added smoke salmon but otherwise it was mid in my opinion. Overall I came pretty early so parking was easy to find and there was no line or wait to grab my stuff to go. The ambiance is cute mostly outside with shade. I will definitely come by again to try some of their other menu items :) read more

While galavanting through Honolulu, we stumbled across Arvo Cafe. A cute little cafe located in a busy shopping center. The ambiance was very tranquil with the business offering both an indoor and outdoor experience. The menu was fun with great-looking drinks and food options. They also had a special menu. As one of their specialty drinks was catching my eye, I had to retract and go with their charcoal latte. Can you believe, I have NEVER had a charcoal latte before. Since I was in Hawaii, I figured this would be the best time to try it. I'm glad I did! It was great! The color was fun and it was definitely giving. It was delicious! With a central spot in SALT, Arvo can be spotted as you walk into the area. There are tables surrounding the cafe and, each time I have been, there is also a line. After ordering at the counter, you wait for your order and can sit around the area. There are a few tables but not a ton so you might end up sitting elsewhere around SALT. The service has been pretty fast in the past. While I have had the nutella toast, smoked salmon toast, and avocado toast in the past, this time we got the egg salad toast. The toasts are all solid. While a bit pricey, they are a decent size and if you are craving any of these toasts, Arvo is definitely good to satisfy those cravings. The egg salad toast was on a thick slice of bread with a healthy amount of egg on top. The egg had a stronger-than-expected dill flavor, which was not unfavorable. It was a bit different though. It added a bit more of an edge to the toast flavor. With a rise in aesthetic cafes around the island, Arvo was one of the first that I remember becoming popular.
