I was sold into the lie that functional health medicine would help me with my gut health issues…read more Mind you I was paying a lot of money to purchase supplement after supplement. My last straw was months later my issue still wasn't resolved and was charged $350 for a stool test that told me nothing and told to take more supplements. I finally went to my primary and got things figured out. I also didn't realize the functional health medicine doctors are actually chiropractors. These are not the people who should be telling you what you should be taking orally. I did more research and found out that none of these practices were scientifically backed and supplements are not FDA approved. I was also told to wear a castor oil pack around my stomach to help with the gut. Again, no scientific proof that stuff works. Lastly, after asking if all I had to pay out of pocket was $350 for the test I was the billed months later for an extra charge after I stopped their services for "extended time, coordination with other providers, lab work, other care related research and coordination" Gimme a break!! I called to question and was told my insurance should cover and I guess it did not. Just sounds like an extra added charge to squeeze more money. My card was automatically charged and I will be disputing that nonsense. Beware to find a real doctor and take what they tell you with a grain of salt.

This was after my appointment had to be rescheduled because the chiropractor was in an alleged car accident. They also tried to get me to sign up for a subscription for multiple follow up visits, which I refused. When I asked how much I was going to be charged, I was told that it would be fully covered by my insurance, only to find out that that unilaterally charged my credit card $389. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, UNLESS YOU WANT TO GET RIPPED OFF!!

So in additional to Physical Therapy, I'm also going to Dr. Luban for chiropractic adjustments. Dr. Luban is great. He is kind, helpful, and adjustments seem to make an enormous difference even though they do not long. He adjusts my neck in addition to my wrist. (Separate issue for me, so it's nice to have 2 things fixed in 1 visit!) I find everything about visiting him easy, and I find that remarkable. Most things in life are not easy.

I tried two physical therapists for my tennis and golfer's elbow and I still couldn't swing a club for 90 days. After the treatment that included stretching , adjustments and rapid tapping treatment) from Dr Luban, I started feeling relief after one visit and back to normal after two treatments. If you are experiencing hip, back or pain in any extremity, save yourself a lot of pain and downtime by getting excellent, experienced care from Dr. Luban. You will thank me for letting you know about his office. Beyond always bringing a pleasant, caring and positive demeanor, I really appreciate how Dr Luban is able to clearly explain, in layman's terms, exactly what he is doing and why. Because of all of this, Dr Luban receives my highest recommendation.

So, skin cancer runs in my family. I had a spot on my ankle. My mom made me PROMISE to go to a…read moredermatologist to get it checked out. When I make promises to my momma, gotta keep 'em, even if it means going to the dermatologist which tends to be a scary prospect for me. Dr. Wier was (a) covered by my insurance and (b) semi-close to my office. Oh yeah, and I was able to get an appointment within a week. Nice. Appointment-time comes, and I walk over for my afternoon appointment. I filled out the new-patient paperwork and proceeded to wait. And wait. And wait. In the meanwhile, the receptionist yells at me because my employer had inverted my date of birth and advised me that she had to do extra work and make extra phone calls to make my insurance go through. Thank you, lady. I appreciate you doing your job. No less than an hour and a half later, I get called back into the examining room. Dr. Wier was very matter-of-fact, and definitely spent a good deal of time talking to me about skin issues. She did a thorough check over my skin for an pre-cancerous cells and gave me pamphlets on the warning signs. And the spot on my ankle? Nothing to fret. So, yeah, the wait was atrocious, but I imagine that is due to her being very thorough with each patient. A necessary evil I suppose. In the future, I'd try to get an early morning appointment before she gets off-schedule. I appreciated her listening to my issues, recommendations for how to take better care of my skin, and her careful explanations. And in addition to learning the ABCs of melanoma, I also learned another valuable lesson: Do NOT wear a thong on a day you are going to get a full-body exam for melanoma. It's awkward.

Had my first visit with Dr. Wier, and felt the need to review. After having a spot on my face I…read morewanted to have checked out by a dermatologist, Dr. Wier ended up being one of the few on my PPO plan that seemed to have great reviews. Overall, I'm glad I found her, and will stay a regular patient. First off, the two receptionists I have met at her office were nothing but friendly. Super nice on the telephone, which is VERY rare. In fact, it was SUPER EASY to make an appointment, and I didn't have to wait for weeks and weeks. When I came in for my visit, they engaged me in conversation, and made me feel very welcome. The same can be said about the nurse. Just super nice people. Meeting Dr. Wier for the first time wasn't exactly the same experience. She doesn't quite go out of her way to be over-friendly, and clearly it's not her style. She is VERY knowledgeable, I mean beyond impressive. I've seen other dermatologists before, but Dr. Wier clearly knows her stuff more. I can see how some may see it arrogant, but it's also kind of comforting. While I was there, I decided to ask about a couple other issues I've noticed. I have an issue on my arms, that my past primary care doctor advised me to use salt scrubs on. Apparently, that was completely wrong, and Dr. Wier let me know it. Also, I noticed some spots on my legs that she looks at, and she told me that I am just clearly allergic to fragrances and dyes in soaps and detergents. Next thing I know, Dr. Wier is taking away everything I use. I always have used expensive soaps and creams from Lush and Origins, and Dr. Wier made sure to tell me that not only are they aggravating my skin, but it was a huge waste of my money. Apparently, no 'age defying' product, like eye creams, work, in her eyes at least. I am now on a regiment of only the most basic and gentle of soaps, with the fewest of ingredients. It's taking some getting used to, but in the end, I'm certain it's helping. In the end, as I said, I will stay a regular patient. I'm comfortable with Dr. Wier, and feel I could come to her with anything and she would be the right person to treat it. Even more impressive, she sent me home with almost ten pages of informational sheets, so I wouldn't forget what we talked about. Who does that? That's awesome! There's no way for me to screw anything up! Is it fair that I am taking one star off because of her bedside manner? That's debatable. Maybe at my next visit, she will end up getting the fifth star. For now, I'll leave it at four, but still say, she's worth a visit!
