I have been a customer of Arvada Appliance for 10 years. Today we had a service call to repair the washing machine. What a disappointing experience. After the tech diagnosed the problem, he informed that he needed to order the part, and he would be back tomor.ow. He then informed me that he needed full payment before he orders the part??? I was not happy, in my previous dealings with this company, payment was due when the job was finished, even if they had to order a part. The tech spoke to the owner, and the owner said yes he wanted payment before the part was ordered, and the job was done. It did not matter that I was an established customer. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I used to recommend this company to people, NOT EVER AGAIN. This wasn't a one-off mistake. It was a pattern of blame-shifting and changing terms. Arvada Appliance improperly installed both a dishwasher and a stove. When the problems were reported, they charged a second install/service fee to come back and fix their own work. After 1.5 hours, the stove was still unstable and not level. From there, the narrative changed: * The issue was reframed as a manufacturer problem, not installation. * I was encouraged to replace the appliance instead. * A 25% restocking fee was introduced. * Then a pickup fee. * Then the refund was only valid if I purchased a new appliance from them. These conditions were introduced incrementally, not upfront. The most telling part: an independent technician fixed the issue in 5 minutes. No parts. No replacement. The realtor paid for it. If you read the owner's responses to negative reviews, expect customers to be mischaracterized instead of professional accountability. That approach continued through a BBB complaint, which closed procedurally--not because the issue was resolved. Arvada Appliance -- Buyer Beware We purchased a washing machine from Arvada Appliance over 13 weeks ago with a promised lead time of 8-10 weeks. Still no machine. I've called four separate times, and every single time I'm told the same story: "It's on the truck; it'll be here tomorrow, and we'll call you to schedule delivery." That call has never once happened. Not one. When I finally called again, I was told it was "in town" and we'd be scheduled for a Friday install with a call that morning to confirm a window. You guessed it -- no call. When we called at 11 a.m., we were told they "weren't sure when it could come" and should push to Monday. Well, it's now Monday at 11 a.m., and -- surprise -- still no call. When we called again, they claimed they still didn't have a window and would "call us back." To make matters worse, the woman who answers the phone most of the time is shockingly rude and completely unhelpful. It's like customer service training doesn't exist there. At this point, this isn't just poor communication -- it's borderline theft. We paid in full over three months ago and have yet to receive a product or a single honest update. A lot of horrible reviews that we should have read before scheduling, however a 2.8 rating tells you something about this business, heed its warning! For context of my review: I am a retired 35 yr career in the service industry and in particular at home service. My wife called asked for service on washing machine leaking water and to rehang a dryer vent tube in the basement ( unfinished basement) Well we weren't told until the tech (Brian) showed up to say they don't hang associated duct work-red flag #1. It's like saying you're an auto mechanic, but you only work on the engine but not the rest of the car. Brian asks to see the duct downstairs, take home down there (mind u, already have work area cleared, ladders up and supplies/tools available) he looks at it and tells me "well no guarantees, cause that's beyond my knowledge".....really dude? That's easier than anything you can repair on the machine itself....red flag #2! Additionally, I'm a senior citizen with a broken shoulder in a sling, Brian is 20-30 ish, so certainly more capable than I am. So I send him back upstairs to address our machine. Meanwhile the senior with a broken shoulder, hung, taped and insulated the dryer duct in the basement.....that was beyond Brian's knowledge level. When I come upstairs, Brian is gone, did absolutely nothing to the machine either and my wife paid him $140! Brian is not only a horrible technician, but also has 0 customer service skills and 0 personality (both of which are about 50% of your job while performing in home service) Summary....go elsewhere, plenty of options.....check the reviews first....if they don't work on the entire system then don't hire them.....finally, FIRE Brian.....I should have done it for them. As I always trained my staff: if you provide iconic service, keep customer engaged with what your doing and clean up well when your done, customers' will pay very well for that and return to you....Arvada Appliance and Brian provided none of that other than the bill! I called from out of state looking for coin OP washer and dryer for our apt building since I couldn't find anything in our area. Salesperson who answered, Christian, was amazing on the phone. Told me what he had, sent pics and specs, and a good price for equipment that they refurbished in-house. Christian answered the phone every time I called until I arrived to pick up the units. I was told he was away for lunch, and so the staff loaded the machines into my van. Twelve hours later, I unload and plug in the washer and dryer. The dryer's timer didn't work (stayed on for 24 hours), and the coin slot in the washer didn't work. I called the store and was told Christian was still out, i sent several messages, but he never called back. I ended up repairing the machines myself. They have a nice store with nice quality appliances but unless you live in Denver, I'd stay away. Their after sales service is abysmal. read more

Has service set for Friday of last week. Was told that somebody would be texting us to give us a two hour timeframe of when they will be there to service. It was past 1 o'clock and I had still not received a text so I called the company and they apologized, but were unable to send a service repair person out because two people had called in sick. It would've been nice to have received a phone call to made us aware of their situation so I didn't waste my entire day waiting for them. The next time they could get me on the schedule was Tuesday of this following week. I called back to ask if there was anyway possible that somebody could come on Monday because Tuesday wasn't going to work out. He said that he would check with the repair person and call me right back. Never received a phone call. Tuesday I get a phone call from the repair person saying that he was going to be at our house between 10 and 12 and I explained to them that I had already talked to somebody and left a message for somebody at the shop that Tuesday wasn't going to work and I would appreciate somebody calling me back to get it rescheduled. Still no phone call. I grew up working for my families restaurant business and I know that customer service and clear communication is and should be top priority. Had a great experience working with Brad and Marion and really grateful for them for helping deliver a replacement fridge to us when we needed to use our manufacturer's warranty. The manufacturer was extremely slow and difficult to deal with, but Arvada Appliance was responsive and professional throughout. I highly respect the upfront, honest way which Brad and Marian communicate. I always felt they were looking out for me when we were in a tough situation without a working fridge for months. I wanted to purchase my refrigerator local, as I had purchased all of my other appliances from the big box retailers - dishwasher, washing machine, dryer, freezer, commercial oven. Our refrigerator quit and we were desperate to get a replacement ASAP. The salesperson Marion took my order and said since they go to the supply warehouse more often than big box retailers, I'd probably get my refrigerator delivered in a few days, instead of the 1 week the big box retailer quoted for delivery time. The following week (7 days later) I still had not received the refrigerator, so I sent an email to ask when I would receive it. No answer from email. So I called and spoke to Marion and he said the warehouse was shorthanded and would take a few days to fulfill the order. After calling once a week, after THREE WEEKS, I finally got the refrigerator delivered. I deducted 1 star for the lack of communication on the delivery delay. The delivery went great - about 15 minutes until the deliver guys told me I'd have to dispose the refrigerator box myself. Have you ever had to put a refrigerator box and all the styrofoam in a small trash recepticle? I had to cut the cardboard into small pieces and the styrofoam into small pieces and I still have a stack of cardboard and styrofoam stacked in my garage that won't fit into the trash. (deducted another star for trash removal) Issue #2 was the delivery cost. I could have the refrigerator delivered and old fridge hauled away for $79 (50 haul fee + 29 delivery fee) - and the big box guys take all the trash away. Arvada Appliance charged me $150 for delivery and haul-away. I wish I could have given a better review, but I would have to not recommend this company and will never order another appliance from them again. read more

My 89 year old neighbor (Bill) purchased a new refrigerator from Arvada Appliance this week with a recommendation from another neighbor (Bob). Bob feels bad for recommending AA because the owner will not return calls from Bill with concerns about his purchase. I'm surprised this business has been around so long with this type of non service. I'm reporting because my elderly and credible neighbors do not use the Internet well, they just report to the BBB. ASK FOR CHUCK! We returned from a weekend camping to find our freezer had died (a big puddle of water stood where ice should have been) and puddles of water all over the bottom of the freezer floor. A few hours after that, our fridge stopped working as well. I have heard horror stories of people coming home to flooded floors and thankfully that didn't happen! We called Arvada Appliance per a referral from a friend. Not only could they send someone out the very next day, Chuck diagnosed the issue within 10 minutes. He was very knowledgeable about our GE appliance and knew exactly which part to order. He recommended using dry ice to tie us over and explained how to use dry ice so it would not shatter the glass shelving. The part was ordered that day and arrived a few days later. Arvada Appliance scheduled a follow up appointment to replace the part. It took another 10 minutes for him to install the part and verify it worked. It started cooling immediately just in time for the 4th of July shenanigans! THANK YOU CHUCK!!! You're the best!! I would definitely call them again and ask for Chuck! He was very professional, knowledgeable, courteous and prompt. He did what he said he was going to do and saved us a ton of money diagnosing and fixing the fridge instead of us having to buy a new one! A++!!!! read more

These guys, and their "family" over at Corn Appliance are unreliable, unprofessional, and will not take care of you beyond "the sale" if you have a problem. And don't call them for a service repair. I made that mistake once. After waiting two weeks for their guy to show up, I found out that they don't service my appliance, even though they asked for all the details when I set the appointment. It was not surprise to discover they were family with Corn appliance (where I got ripped off on a used appliance.) I called Arvada appliance because several people on Nextdoor recommend them for appliance repair. Israel came out and wasn't totally sure what was wrong but thought It might be the control board. He quoted me 456 for the control board and since the oven is only 3 years old I really wanted to fix It instead of buying a new one so soon. Two days later Israel returned with the part. He never checked if It was working and my husband had to make him come back in to check It. When he did everything seemed to be fine. Later that evening when I came home from work I noticed that the oven wasn't working again. I called Arvada the next day and let them know It wasn't working and to please send someone. Instead of calling back or sending anyone they just charged my card, even though the stove was not working. 2 days later the service lady addressed my concern, apologized for charging me while my oven was still broken and assured me that Israel would be back. Israel came back out and fiddled and It worked. I never checked the broiler which a few days later during thanksgiving learned It wasn't working either. When I called to complain, a man claiming to be the owner bob told me he was going to teach me a lesson. As a woman, having a man "teach me a lesson" is one of my favorite lines. What a pandering joke. So anyway, "bob" said I could come in and the money I spent repairing my oven would go toward a new oven if purchased in their store. Ummm no. I don't want to give a company business that talks to me like I should be grateful that I'm even on the phone with them. My oven is broken, I paid you to fix It, you didn't, then you were rude to me why would I give you my business? The next day my husband called and "bob" picked up the phone. However the man that said he was bob was actually Brad and Brad said yeah that was me that told your wife that. He then proceeded to threaten my husband and requested he come into their STORE to fight. Needless to say, we will never use Arvada appliance to purchase or repair anything ever. This is why these types of companies have such poor opinions from the public. And our credit card company gave us a full refund after we all laughed about this crazy experience. read more

So waited two weeks, called them back and they said the parts were in and then we needed to schedule a visit by the technician. I had called seeking a diagnostic text of a dishwasher that was stuck on a cycle. When the technician came out I began explaining the issue and what the manual said. He completely ignored everything stating that I should look for a code telling me the problem. I showed him the controls and stated there is no panel for letters to show. He repeated himself. After turning on the water he began filling the dishwasher multiple times. The sensor was wet so he wiped it down and said it is fixed. I refuted with his statement saying we needed to find the root cause. He looked put out that I was asking him to do his job. Needless to say he found the leak. The part was quoted $525, which is not accurate as you can buy it from the distributer for $125. This was not even for technician charges. I said no thank you and he left. 2 days later the room below the dishwasher had water in the walls. When the own, as another review said Mafia-like individual, finally showed up he was an arrogant misogynist. When I showed him pictures of how the kitchen was wet and the damage he proceeded to deny that their company could even make such an error. He berated me with a lecture of being a homeowner and why it was my responsibility to turn the water off although the tech is the one who turned it on. I love these guys for so many reasons. First, and most importantly, they beat the prices of any big box store out of the water, and their customer services is infinitely better. They deliver quickly, and professionally, and their install team rocks. I purchased a brand new refrigerator from them and I was so happy that I decided to use them to outfit my rental property with new and lightly used appliances from Arvada Appliance. Another reason I love them: I have an old Hotpoint refrigerator from the 1940's that I am very attached to, and it stopped working. I looked high and low for a repair company to come out and take a look at it, even going as far as to call GE directly and I kept getting laughed at, and told no, or quoted extremely high prices for parts that were on backorder indefinitely. I finally called Arvada Appliance, and they had it fixed in 2 days for less than half the price of the other company. I can't recommend these guys highly enough. Our drop in downdraft stove showed signs of giving up after 26 years of hard service. Chuck of Arvada Appliance diagnosed our problem and let us know that parts were no longer available. We contacted Megan who helped us select a replacement slide in range that appeared to be likely to fit in our existing kitchen island and they recommended Tiny's Granite Works to help us with modifications to the island. Our new stove was delivered on Thursday and the Arvada Appliance technicians removed the old unit. They were helpful, efficient and very pleasant. Tiny came the following morning and we now have a beautiful new stove that looks as though it was designed to be in our island. I had Arvada Appliance out to see if my washing machine was able to be repaired or if I was suspecting correctly that it needed to be replaced. It was only 5 years old but had never been a very good machine. I couldn't find a good reliable company that would guide and direct me through the purchase process so did online research. Unfortunately, that machine did not perform well. So even though I was disappointed that I will have to purchase a new one, I was so appreciative that they helped guide me to a good machine. They came to install the machine today and it went very smoothly. The delivery people were super helpful. I will keep them in mind for future purchases and repairs. Be warned: They advertise being family owned but then they act like the other kind of family, ie..Mafia-like behavior:( and they are probably going out of business look at their reviews! My advice is: don't buy anything at Arvada Appliance. Our homeowners association bought a coin operated washer and dryer here and the week after that, we were burglarized for the coins. This was the only theft type crime we have ever experienced in our building. As the president of our building, I am very suspicious of the timing of this burglary. When I called them about it, they said the delivery people/installers were relatives of theirs and it couldn't be them. I wonder, do they background check their relatives? I would guess they don't. Well, we won't be using this company for any type of service since that just seems very strange. Then, when we needed a key to access the machines to change a setting. I called to verify they had the keys we needed, and told the salesperson repeatedly what they were for, and after verifying that they did, I ordered two replacement keys be mailed to our building from Arvada Appliance and neither worked. When I called, Scott told me he doesn't care that this is a problem cost me time and money and didn't offer to help me one bit. He offered to send a repairperson, at my cost, gee thanks I really do not want to do that after what happened the last time your installers came out! Scott then told me that changing the setting isn't DIY job even though I was told by both the installers and the salesperson who sold me the keys that it was...Okay, well since Arvada appliance doesn't want to refund my money. I will be doing a chargeback on my credit card for this defective set of keys. Called for service as my gas dryer wasn't heating. The service person diagnosed that a thermal fuse was blown. A quick replacement and all was good until the bill. So a $40 fuse, and 20 minutes of service. Total $174.74. That's 20 minutes of labor for about $130. Think I'll try another service next time. read more

My in-laws' oven died with little warning. They were interested in purchasing an oven with a dual oven capacity, without getting the typical wall mounted double oven (no space). You know the type with a "pizza oven" style on top and larger oven below. After reviewing units with consumer reports, they decided on the specific range they wanted. They priced the oven at various appliance stores, including the big box retailers. Arvada Appliance was nit only able to get it in sooner (by a week, sometimes 2), they undercut the price if big box retailers. Then, they delivered the range, set it up, and showed them how to use it. Delivery cost less and was better. A year later, my oven's thermostat burnt out. I called Arvada Appliance because if the positive experience from my in-laws. They came next day, diagnosed the problem quickly, ordered the part, and had me working again in 3 days. Friendly, professional, and competitively priced. (I called around) Now, my washing machine's drain pump died. I called a parts store closer to my home (near Lowe's in Westminster). They wanted $95 for a new pump (generic) and it would take a week to come in. I called Arvada Appliance, $52 for the part, and it came in the next day. I recommend Arvada Appliance. My experience has been great, and they have been honest and professional the whole time. read more

I called them for an igniter switch for my gas oven. They actually answered their phone and the receptionist was friendly. (I got voice messages at all the other stores I called). They ordered the part for me and had it ready by that afternoon for pick up. The price was comparable to the online prices I had seen and about $25 cheaper than Home Depot. Update: So the problem on my appliance was actually bigger than we thought. We needed a different part. No returns on parts like Home Depot... it might have been better to pay the extra $25 bucks knowing they take back anything for any reason. Now I have a part I do need and I'm out cash. :( read more

Staff is nice enough but they sell trash. Just bought a GE washer and dryer from them less than a year ago and already having problems with both. The washer doesn't complete the entire wash cycle. This happens maybe once ever 4 or 5 washes. The dryer's heating element is failing. Really disappointed in this business because I've bought from them before a handful of times and never had a problem. But looks like they began doing like the big boys and buying wholesale from the cheapest vendors. read more
