You go in pay go up some stairs are you are in main area. There's a slightly raised dance floor which is small and crowded. The rest of the area is carpeted which is a stupid idea for a nightclub. The place is also covered in mirrors but the decor is still dated. This is generally the place for older people who like to re-live their youth in here. The music is quite bad too apart from a few well known recent hits it tends to be cheasy things from a couple of years ago.

When I came for the first time, I was loving it, but my second visit last week left me a bit disappointed. Yeah it's a brilliant club - I fell in love with it then they played the theme tune to Fresh Prince of Bell Air. ahh .... Saying that, they played 'football's coming home' at least 4 times throughout the night - I couldn't help but count. It got a bit annoying. They had brilliant drinks offers though, I got 4 shots and a vodka + mixer for £6, so I was pleased (and tipsy). The club itself was a bit messy and the floor was sticky, but it's a nightclub afterall. The men were particularly sleazy - I was invited back to numerous house parties, but that's not the clubs fault. I would definitely come back here, I loved my first night and was maybe too sober for the second night, but the best things come in three's, right?

The building is gorgeous Victoriana music hall in style but each room is different. The main downstairs hall is ideal for gigs with a high stage and holds I would guess about 500 without any of the upstairs being open. the rest is a bit of a maze of stairways, bars, elegance, but with a indie crowd used to dingy places this was quite OTT. There was different DJs on each dancefloor on at least 3 levels of the building and other side rooms from what I can remember, with my favourite being the one on the 1st floor with a grandiose chandelier. The Saturday night shindig I went to is a regular thing and the people who went were a great mix of students and locals. The smoking area is on the street unfortunately, but I could not care less about that slight downside as it matched expectation and if after reading this I have just raised yours, then goodyou will enjoy it too my friends!

It's housed in a Grade II listed building and inside they've spared little expense. We're talking four bars surrounded by multiple rooms and a mad mix up of music as well. You'll get anything from disco to Hip Hop. It is beautiful, it really is. A special mention goes out the centre piece chandelier and quite awesome (not to mention comfortable) leather sofas throughout. To get you in the mood and your disco shoes raring the drinks menu will blow you away. It beats some clubs I've been to with a huge selection of cocktails, wines, fizz and beer. This is grade A stuff. It may be a little mainstream for some people's tastes but just go with the flow and enjoy the venue if nothing else.

When I got to the club they asked me for my ID to which I handed it over but to my surprise didn't let me in, the reason being that my ID didn't show my date of birth. I didn't bring my passport for obvious safety reasons thinking it wouldn't be a problem showing my ID as long as I am of age. 'Purple Bar' which, believe it or not, has a lot of purple lights, is your 'seen it all before' pseudo-trendy bar. 'Arizona' is next on the list. As the name implies it has a western theme to it and plays the type of music everyone knows the words and can sing a long too. The last of the bars is called 'Velvet Lounge' I've never seen it open and apparently you need to be a member. A VIP room lacking in VIPs perhaps? The decor inside looks like something from a Beyonce video... full of, or lacking in, taste. Depending on who you ask. The nightclub is called 'Union' and it's a fairly large venue. It plays the usual selection of dance and chart stuff with the exotically named DJs 'Liam' and 'Craig' putting itunes on shuffle all night long!
