About a year ago, I walked into this store out of curiosity while they were hosting an event. It…read morewas packed with tables full of people playing different tabletop games I didn't recognize. Immediately, a staff member greeted me and introduced me to a group of people, encouraging me to exchange information with them. I was a bit too shy to join in that night, but I really appreciated the effort. You gotta love a place that goes that far to make a "noob" feel included. During a more recent visit without all the tables of people, it's still a cozy store with a warm and inviting environment. Upon walking in, I could tell the staff genuinely enjoyed being there. As I was browsing, a staff member told me about their puzzle trade. For a few bucks, you can trade the old puzzles you own with a selection of their used puzzles. I'll definitely be making the most of this deal. This is an Oakland gem that I can't recommend enough. If you're looking for a kind and welcoming community, this is a great one. I'll definitely be returning.

I liked seeing part of a shelf that highlighted local California games. Seems like a great community spot as the Friday night had some sort of Magic the Gathering tournament and they were open pretty late. There are around 5-6 folding tables of seating across the store. We spent some time browsing but no staff members approached us. It was a little stuffy inside but better away from the used games in the back. The used games in the back shelves were organized alphabetically -- but it was unclear if they were to play or for purchase The chalkboard has some weekly information of their events

Second to none customer service!…read more Best bulk TGC cards! Only 10 for a $1! I was there from 11am-1:30, searching for Yuka Morii and Asako Ito created Pokémon cards, I found a great collection of Yuka Morii cards, but only a few Asako Ito cards in the bulk boxes, but I only searched two boxes lol. I'll be back to search for more! Also don't forget to sign up with their rewards program, you earn points with every $1 spent! I spent about 13 bucks, so I earned some great points today! Always a class act, at DVY, great environment and very knowledgeable people. Overall: 20/10 on that Jonny Rating!

Being relatively new to collecting basketball cards, we had visited a few other shops and often found the customer service lacking. However, at DVY, we were welcomed the moment we stepped in. The staff was not only friendly but also happy to chat while we browsed, making us feel like regulars right away. One thing that really stood out was the value of the experience. We were able to sit comfortably and go through their enormous selection of cards, covering almost every sport you could think of. When it came to pricing, their singles were beyond reasonable, allowing us to add a great number of cards to our collection without breaking the bank. In short, if you're in the area--or even if you need to make a little trip--DVY Collectibles is absolutely worth a visit. We left with fantastic additions to our growing collection and a very happy feeling about the whole experience. Thanks again to the wonderful team there!

My child loves pokemon card. So, we have been visited to several pokemon card stores (and collectibles stores as well) in bay area. We love this store the most. On occasion, they will have their giant inflated Pikachu right out in front of the little shopping center area, so you can't miss it when that happens. What do they sell here? Kind of a little bit of everything really. There's toys, plushies, video games, models, figures, and of course Pokemon cards along with other stuff. Lots of fun stuff for all, and for all ages too as they have quite a bit of retro stuff floating around here. The place does remind me quite a bit of the kind of set-up I would see in Japan and stuff, where display cases are all over, with stuff just sprawled out inside of them for people to look and peruse over. There really aren't too many of these places like this anywhere nowadays. Good nostalgia just from that perspective. Makes it fun. How is the pricing of everything? Actually reasonable for most things I saw here. There were some things that seemed to be fairly overpriced, but it was mainly for the rarer stuff which is understandable, but still pretty far over the market price elsewhere (online and such). But the general stuff sold here were all fair enough for a physical store. The service here, I actually didn't really interact with them much. While I was walking around the store I did hear customers converse with the staff and it seemed friendly enough, so I assume it's fine. They seemed eager to help when people walked up to the counter-adjacent areas, so there's that. Though I didn't walk out with anything the first time I visited the place, finally, I certainly almost wanted to grab something quite a few times as I was making my way through there. Will definitely be back at some point later.
