This was quite different from any school I've dealt with before but because of what they teach it's actually an excellent venue. They have multiple parts to their building, including a small theater where they put on performances. We were here for a couple of hours while the one cofounder talked us through everything the school does. We got a full tour and quite the education on how things will work. We also got to introduce to several of the existing students who came to help answer questions from the potential students and their guests. I can definitely see where pretty much anyone could benefit from going to school here.

I didn't expect it to change my entire thinking on humans, emotions and life in general- and all for the better! I had been acting for years, but always felt a little wobbly in my process and authenticity- Marco and Robb helped me transform my ways and I feel like I can deliver more substantive performances now. Plus, I have started booking roles other than just commercials! The curriculum is well-structured, thoughtful and challenging. The instructors are incredibly knowledgeable and supportive, offering clear explanations and helpful strategies to approaching roles using the Meisner technique. One of the most valuable aspects of the course of course is meeting the other students and finding a safe inclusive environment. Encouragement to be ourselves, commitment to being present helps even the shyest among us shine. Positive immediate feedback helps us progress while homework and serious study leads to success. This is not a passive education- this is a hands on, what you put in is what you get out type conservatory, In addition to Meisner acting, the school provides useful resources and information like job boards, how to audition, write a resume, headshots, find an agent and more. Marco and Robb and Sam are the most gracious and open people so no question is denied. I am looking forward to continuing my studies with Truthful as the courses are always progressing with changes in the industry. Do yourself a favor and attend an open house at least and feel the welcome. I bet you will meet alumni and current student who show up just to hang out- because Truthful is their home away from home- where we feel our true selves.

I love how beautiful the stairwell is going up to two. I love how much they have expanded their food and beverage line up over the years. The sound tends to be pretty good, the communication from the theatre is always amazing. They waive fees if you come to the box office to buy your tickets. The seats are comfy and almost every seat has a solid view. The box seats are the exception so be warned. The volunteers are always amazing and they are so nice. It would be cool if they opened a second location that served coffee because that line for espresso beverages is always really long. I love the breadth of show types. There's always something for everyone.

Swan Lake October 2025…read more This is one of those performances that stays with you long after the curtain comes down. I saw Swan Lake back in October 2025, and somehow I'm only just now sitting down to write about it.... I apologize for not getting this review out sooner. The last time I had seen this ballet... I was in my twenties, which feels like another lifetime ago. Swan Lake sits right up there with The Nutcracker in terms of recognition. You grow up knowing it, even if you've never actually seen it live. As a little girl, it lives in your imagination. The costumes, the movement, the elegance, and that quiet belief that maybe one day you could be that dancer. For a lot of people, that dream gets planted early and never fully leaves. Walking into this performance, I felt that history. Not just personal, but cultural. Swan Lake carries weight because it's about illusion versus truth, about wanting something you can't quite have and mistaking appearances for reality. Tension is built into every movement. Swan Lake is not the same experience as The Nutcracker. The Nutcracker is festive and structured more like a showcase. Swan Lake is continuous, demanding, and far more intense. The lead roles require stamina, precision, and emotional control from start to finish, and the corps de ballet has to move in perfect synchronization with no room for error. It really is the Olympics of ballet. This performance delivered. It was polished, immersive, and held my attention the entire time. I found myself watching not just the choreography, but the control, the discipline, and the way each dancer carried themselves on stage. One dancer in particular stood out to me, Bernardo Betancor. He was exactly what you imagine when you think of a leading male ballerina. He carried a statuesque presence on stage and was, without question, easy on the eyes. More than that, he had command. The kind that makes your eyes go back to him whether you mean to or not. I'm glad I finally made it back to Swan Lake after all these years, and even more glad I didn't miss this one. Huge thanks to Ronnald M. for pulling me into this night, because let's be honest... this is not exactly a bad way to spend an evening.

I highly recommend each one…read more As a relative beginner, CAST took me step by step, week by week, into what it takes to be CAST in commercials. This class prepares you to walk (or ZOOM!) into any audition feeling confident in your knowledge of the protocols, etiquette and expectations... no matter if you're required to "just react", eat on camera, actually speak - or possibly all 3! You learn that you may be CAST solely on your look, your age range or a host of other things that have very little to do with actual talent. Your professionalism, or lack thereof, can really stand out in the CASTing process. ACT exposes you to the process of developing your ACTing skills. You'll learn how to examine a script, develop a character and bring LIFE to a scene. Numerous class exercises demonstrate how your internal work and reACTions result in different outcomes, connections & moments on camera. A few things, I specifically appreciate: - Shauna was and IS a booking/working actor. - You see "on-camera" feedback ~every class. - Shauna is well prepared & starts class on time. (Believe it or not, it's an issue @other schools) - Although very interactive, she respects your investment & maintains control of the class. - She has endless antidotes to share and is humble enough to include her own "teachable moments" along with her success stories. Last, but not least, Shauna is well respected among area casting directors and agents, as well as other actors. As a result of her sharing video of our final class assignment AND my efforts to follow up - TWO agents asked to meet with me AND offered to sign me. Of course, no class or coach can guarantee any level of success for you... but I am proud to say, as someone who got a VERY late start, I am officially a working actor with an agent who believes in me... AND I continue to work with Shauna as an audition coach/videographer. Shauna delights in seeing her students grow & succeed... not only because of who we are... but because of who SHE is.

Most of the kids there were aged from about 3 yrs to 8 years old. It's a small class of about 13 kids. The instructor is very high energy, like she was not only in plays in school, but also a cheerleader. The teacher would set up a story and then show the kids how to use their body language and voices in that stories setting. She kept it very fun, lighthearted, and entertaining for everyone. For example she would say something like; how do you react if you walked in the kitchen and saw the pet dog had made a mess with the trash which is now all over the floor. And they would reply back some like like, "Oh no!" And the teach would have them verbally say it very loud, and use their hands, arms, and body movement to also express that type of emotion from the kids. I think the classes are about 3 times per week, and about 1 hour each session, and they are held normally about 4pm or 5pm. The teacher also has another adult assistant there to help the kids learn the art of acting. The teacher also has the parents get involved and assist their kids was needed. So the whole family has a fun, silly time learning drama. Part of the class the parents are not needed, so most of them go next door to the bar and eat some snacks or get a drink while they're waiting on the class to end. This seems like a very nice class for young kids to take.

The evening shimmered with energy--a perfect overture to the season. From the first note to the final bow, the cast carried us on a journey that pulsed with rhythm, harmony, and heart. Their voices soared, their timing danced, and their presence filled the stage with a brilliance that could rival any marquee in New York or London. Theatre, at its best, is a living symphony--dialogue weaving into song, song flowing into story--and this production captured that cadence flawlessly. As the curtain fell, I was struck by the artistry that thrives here in our own backyard. Having lived in Dubai, Las Vegas, London, and New York, I know the grandeur of global stages. Yet nowhere have I found such a steady stream of performances, each one crafted with care, directed with vision, and performed with soul, as I do here in the world's vacation capital. Heather Alexander and Roy Alan, the founders, discovered a rare niche: a theatre that doesn't rely on spectacle or technology, but on the timeless power of human talent. While Dr. Phillips Center dazzles with scale, the Winter Park Playhouse enchants with intimacy--family spirit, authenticity, and artistry that stands the test of time. This was more than entertainment; it was a celebration of craft, community, and pure theatrical joy. Honky Tonk Angels is a salute to the season and a reminder that the greatest value in Central Florida theatre lies not in spectacle, but in the artistry of performers who give themselves fully to the stage. Don't miss this production--it's a standing ovation waiting to happen.
