First - let me start by saying / writing that Cindy - the tech (and owner / manager I think) is friendly - and speaks better English than I do). Other than that - I had a less than stellar experience. Found them using the Minx Nails website - called to confirm that they still do Minx nails - because apparently a lot of salons listed on the site no longer do. Only to drive all the way there - and discover that the 1) didn't have the Minx pattern / color (metallic red) I wanted and 2) in my second choice (Minx / metallic gold) they only had the forms to do hands - not feet. Argh. I went on to have the most lackluster pedicure I've had in my entire life. 1) Massage chair too old and padding too thin to make it an enjoyable experience - I had to shut it off after about five minutes. 2) No points lost for this - but the clients next to me (who apparently are BFFS) were INSANELY loud and chatty and boisterous - I'm all for girl power - would love to be that happy at the salon - but today - I was just not in the mood. These chicks were clearly the type that even though they talk to one another all day - every day - they never run out of effing words to say! Argh! I don't care what anyone says - even in my youth - I was NEVER that inconsiderate at a salon. There's such a thing as an excited whisper. Look it up. 3) My nail tech, an older Asian lady, was determined to give me the vampy arched French pedicure - thick white bands with extra high arcs - when I insisted at the onset - and during - that I wanted white tips / edges painted - thin and straight. 4) Goopy nail polish. Enough said. I don't think they get a lot of request for French pedicures here. I think the polish was VERY old. Not being racist / stereotypical - this is based on a) shop name, b) clientele and c) comments from both techs. (Comments like: Awww. No design? No color? Plain Jane! Teeheehee) The manager / Cindy - had to re-do one of my 'big' toes. And because she had to stop working on her client to do it - she half-@ssed it and left me with a discernible ridge of much thicker polish that will clearly smudge if I put a shoe on within the next 48 hours. Trust me - this isn't my first time at the rodeo. 5) Apparently two technicians failed to show up today - so three people walked out while I was there - two were actually soaking their feet - for nearly twenty minutes before they just got up slipped their wet feet into flip-flops and walked out. My tech's response, "So impatient - I guess they couldn't wait," coupled with a shoulder shrug. Not that I expected her to chase after them or anything. 6) It was warm in the salon - and there were fruit flies - but I think I know why. See pics. 7) No latex gloves available. My tech didn't give me a proper calf or foot massage - and she left my toes messy. And yes - I realize the white smudges come off in the shower - but guess what - that's not how its supposed to look walking out the door. 8) The basic pedicure includes hot towels - but what they do is pull ONE thin, mildly warm towel out of a warming 'oven' and 'slap' it on top of both of your legs - then drag it off quickly - then dry your legs off. There is no warm, steaming wrap of both calves. It was truly comical. But Cindy said they have been in business for 16 years - so they must be doing something right. Once again - I think they specialize in doing a lot of nail art. At this point - I think I'm going to have to purchase my own Minx nails - then pay a tech to apply them. In my 20+ years of getting a pedicure - this marks the second time I have failed to tip. I just couldn't.

It is terrible to walk in a place and all you is three people that only know how to do specific things. I won't be back!
