I'll be clear and upfront: Hiring Artistic Lighting and Michael Kusmierek based in Punta Gorda was the biggest mistake of my life! They scammed me out of $35,000 and if you hire them you're going to be scammed too. I hired this company less than a year ago to do a landscape lighting project for my home in Fort Myers, Florida. Michael Kusmierek is the owner of Artistic Lighting and came to my home to sell me on his services. Things were good at first. Mike was very knowledgeable and helpful. He went the extra mile to get the business and that was appreciated. Michael Kusmierek drafted a proposal to do my lights at $35,000. It was a lot of money but I felt he was the man for the job. Mike said he would give me a discount if I paid in cash so that he didn't have to pay sales tax or federal tax. Now I realize he wasn't just trying to avoid taxes but limit my recourse in the event of a dispute. They did the install about a month later and at first it seemed like exactly what I was looking for. But, then within days lights started going out. It was a big project over 65 lights were installed. So, I figured there could be some issues and when I brought them to their attention they came out and fixed it promptly. Then a month goes by and about 15 more lights failed around the property. The app they gave me to work the lights wouldn't work and when it did it didn't change all the colors of the lights as it was supposed to. I had lights installed in my brick pavers as well and after about a month I had to hire a paver company to come fix all the damage they caused because they didn't reinstall the pavers properly after pulling them up to run their lines. The damage they caused cost me $1,500 to fix! This is when the charming sales guy Michael Kusmierek true colors started to show. Instead of standing behind his product and service Artistic Landscape Lighting installed he started accusing me of being the issue. How exactly I had any control of the light itself failing or the app not working was beyond me, but Mike was convinced I was the issue. After threatening legal action against Mike Kusmierek, Artistic Lighting and the manufacturer of the lights he installed came to my house to try and figure out why the product was failing. They never advised me to the reason but they fixed it. The lights worked for about 2 weeks and then 3 went out, 5 went out, 10 went out and eventually all my lights went out. I contacted Michael at Artistic Vision and his mother Kathy that also owns this company in November 2023 and told them I have had enough and wanted them to remove the product and replace it with a new company or refund my money. If the failure rate was so high less than 6 months in I knew these lights would be a complete loss within 2 years. Therefore, I had only one option get them replaced with a new brand or get a full refund before I lost all of my money and had to pay another company to do new lights. I have had these lights for less than 6 months and I have had over 30 of the 65 lights installed fail. One after the other they go out and Michael became combative and decided that I must be the problem because he said no one else has these issues. Or so he claims. But, the fact of the matter is this was the largest job Artistic Landscape Lighting ever had an emission directly from Michael's mouth. He was in over his head and rather than fix the job he attacked me as being the problem. Now, we are in February of 2024 and I had to hire an attorney to take legal action against Artistic Lighting, its owners and the manufacturer of the light in my yard to get them to do the right thing. Now I want to warn anyone considering Artistic Lighting and Michael and Kathy Kusmierek with my review of this company as someone that has been scammed for $35,000 and now has to pay an attorney to get my money back from these scammers. If you have already hired this company I recommended you cancel. If this company already did your install then I recommend you do not leave a review until you find out if you're going to be living the same nightmare as I am. read more
