I had a tree installed over two years ago that seemed to stop growing. I gave Artistic Trees a call and asked if they could come out and take a look. They came out and evaluated the tree. It had a bug infestation that they treated and sealed the bark.. I was very pleased with the service. They provided not only when they installed the tree, but the fact that they were willing to come out and take a look at it. They assured me that if there were any further problems, they'd be happy to come out and take care of it. read more

I used Artistic, Trees for tree trimming and extensive Landscaping. They did a wonderful job on both. The clean up was also excellent I will definitely use them again read more

I submitted a review for Artistic Trees in February, providing an abbreviated history of ~ 10 years. They were onsite in mid-February, light-trimming the citrus and one oak, raising and topping another old Live Oak. They then planted two (each) Arbequina and Koroneiki olive trees. I reached out again on short-notice for Rene and his team to build 3 grape vine trellises. We set up the date; ~ one week out -- they were on-site as scheduled, completed the trellis' build, applied wood sealant, and planted four (white Muscadine) vines (I'm still waiting for two concord grape vines to arrive). They also pre-dug holes for the soon-to-arrive vines, so it will be easy planting once they arrive. I'll continue to hire and recommend Artistic Trees long as I remain in my home. My continued thanks to Rene' and his Artistic Trees crews! Neal S read more

I recently had a large heritage Oak collapse posing a threat to my property. I contacted Artistic Trees and they quickly came out to assess the situation and go over options with me. Rene and his staff clearly went through the options and answered every question I had in detail. After coming to a conclusion of what I wanted they went to work immediately and saved my property from any additional damage. I would use them again without any hesitation. Thank you for a job well done! read more

We usually have our trees trimmed every two years or so. The last few times we have used Artistic Trees. They did an absolutely outstanding job again this time. They showed up promptly every morning and worked so hard in this unusual heat. They also ground stumps and shrubs we lost during the last two winters. We were very pleased with the grinding job they did. Rene's employees are very good and hard working. He usually stops by at least twice a day and works along side them until he needs to go check another property. He wants the customer to be totally satisfied. We certainly were and highly recommend Artistic Trees. read more

We live in an area with many oak trees. I highly recommend Artistic Trees. They are prompt, dependable & prune the trees as nature intended. They do not leave the branches looking like they were stripped & left with a puff like a poodle dog tail. They thoroughly paint all cuts to avoid oak wilt & protect your property. They are reliable abiding by the HOA guidelines & required permit. Total, excellent cleanup. Informed, intelligent, thoughtful office manager. When they depart, there is no evidence they've been there other than your trees appear to have been pruned like an A+ haircut. Thank you, Artistic Trees, for your professionalism. ARTISTIC TREES DID AN AMAZING JOB AT MY HOME TODAY!!!! I wanted to hire a local tree cutting company with a great reputation and one that had a certified arborist at the helm so it was a great decision hiring ARTISTIC TREES. The owner came out quickly to give me an estimate and my job was scheduled promptly and today the crews showed up at the agreed upon time and began my tree work. They did a wonderful job and cleaned up nicely after all the cutting was complete. I GOT EXACTLY WHAT I HOPED FOR....ARTISTICLY CUT TREES! The trees are shaped beautifully and sculpted in a way that is exceptionally done and aestetically appealing. I am very particular and ARTISTIC TREES exceeded my expectations. The owner, Rene Pina was hands on at the jobsite and followed up with me after completion of my work to make sure I was completely satisfied. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ARTISTIC TREE COMPANY, they won't let you down! read more

Artistic Trees (AT) worked their magic on our 50 year old ash trees, live oaks, Mt Laurel and transformed our scraggly, mossy trees into a picture perfect canopy. AT Crew was on time, professional and  appeared to enjoy their work, even in 36° weather.  Our landscaping, as well as our neighbors, was covered and well protected. The AT crew brought a bucket truck for our 40 ft trees and their trimming tools were sterilized to prevent spreading TTDs (Tree Transmitted Disease - my acronym not AT's). I greatly appreciated, the respectful and knowledgeable manner our questions were answered by Rene Pina, owner/arborist, and AT crew, aka No BS.  Cleanup was meticulous. There was no tree fallout debris laying around our home. The only sign of Artistic Trees being on our property, is that our trees are brochure beautiful. read more

Our trees were trimmed and de-mossed and their beauty is very clear. The crew is very professional, courteous and skillful. As they trimmed the trees, they cleared and disposed the debris and sprayed the cut tree limbs to prevent insect damage. Strongly recommend this company. read more

A team came to install two small trees and performed it with no effort. Rene came by the day before to survey and offer a slight suggestion, which I took. I would use this company in the future should it arise. read more

This is the 2nd time we've used Artistic Trees to prune and remove moss for a very large live oak tree. Both times they did a wonderful job. This past time we also had Artistic Trees clean and trim our gardens and put river rock in the garden beds. Everything was done exactly as we discussed and the price was very reasonable for all of the work that was done. The crew was very professional and we are extremely pleased with the work that was done. read more

I have used Artistic Trees for several years, for trees as well as landscaping . The grass in my front yard had taken a beating from the Texas sun and poor soil. Rene Pina suggested planting El Toro Zoysia since the area is so sunny. His crew came out and did a great job! Now I have a yard to be proud of. Thank you, Rene and crew! read more

After recent rains I had huge oak tree limbs saging very close to the roof and one giant limb against the side of the roof. After talking to a neighbor she gave me the name of Artistic Tree trimmers. I called them and got a bid. The owner and several men with needed equipment came and took care of all my tree problems and cleaned everything up like he said. I was very pleased with the job and the proffessional way the men went about their work. I have already recommended them to some friends. read more

I had a 40ft. tree in my back yard this week that was split right down the middle and in danger of falling on 2 of my neighbor's homes. I called Mr. Rene Pena at Artistic Tree's and someone came to my house within the hour. The price was reasonable so I asked them when they could start and was told"right now". Within 30 minutes there were 6 men working on my tree. Benjamin who was cutting up in the tree is a real "Tree Ninja". All of the guys were polite and professional and clean! They removed the entire tree and raked my back yard for residual debris. I would highly recommend Artistic Tree's for any tree work! Thank you Mr. Rene and fellow tree Ninjas! read more

EDIT: I recently discovered that Rene (the owner) may be mis-representing himself, and he may not be a licensed arborist. If you choose to use his services, I HIGHLY suggest you ask for proof of his license. After reading reviews through several sites, I opted to go with Artistic Tree & Landscape. I wanted a trained Arborist, familiar with the area and sought out the company. When Rene, the owner didn't return my call, I actually went looking for his store front (which isn't on Grissom rd anymore). However, the owner of the Auto Body shop offered to contact him for me. I should have stopped right there. My requests were quite simple; trim the trees for health, and to avoid a CPS line, remove the ivy, and grind the stumps (quite a few of them), and make sure that a licensed Arborist was on site while the work was being done. He said it would be 1 or 2 day job, agreed to my requests and gave me a price without an itemized estimate. The cost was high, but he seemed to understand what I wanted, and assured me the work would be done as requested. I won't go into too much detail, but will give the following: Only half the ivy was removed, and most of the roots were not pulled. Rene tried to convince me to leave the remaining half - without reducing the cost of the estimate. One large stump was ground, but not in it's entirety and it will need to be redone. A couple of other stumps were addressed, and a couple of trees removed, but the majority of stumps were left behind. The excuse given, was that there was no access through the easement area, because my neighbors weren't available to let them through. The grinder was in my yard on the first day, and there was no reason the stumps couldn't have been done at that time. Trees were not properly trimmed, and several branches have broken, and fallen into my yard. And the one tree I was told wouldn't need to be removed for potential issues with a CPS line (he assured me it would be fine) - it was cut down by CPS. Had Rene (the only trained Arborist) been on site, I think most of these things could have been taken care of correctly and professionally. His crews were on site 3x and still couldn't get it right. Rene asked for full payment before the job was finished (which didn't happen). When he was late for the 4th attempt to correct errors, I told him I didn't want him on my property and to consider himself paid in full. I paid just over 60% of the original estimate. In my opinion, I paid an exorbitant sum and am considering litigation. read more

Rene is very knowledgeable about trees and proper tree care. He had a crew of 5 giving our 140 year old live oak tree a once over. Crew was very thorough and did a great job. Tree looks great and now much healthier! Pricing I feel was fair as a 2 person crew might have taken them 2 days to get job completed. Thanks Rene! read more

Artistic Trees, owned by Renee who employs a large team of workers, has worked with me in San Antonio for at least 15 years, with my Ash, Loquat, Hedge Roses, and more. He will give you ideas as well as learn your ideas with ease. Initially, before his business took off, he stayed with each crew till the job was done to perfection. He, himself, is a master at not only pruning, but, seasonal feeding, arbor pest control, and landscaping. He had my trees absolutely gorgeous, while I decorated them with ground cover flowers. He is very cordial, and will listen intently to your desires, while discussing with you what would be the best for the type tree, and how to "spruce" up the house with beautiful trees that set the stage. I had people stop in the street just to tell me how beautiful my yard and trees were. His company has grown, yes, and now really has so many crews, he can't oversee them all like before, which is truly a shame. Nonetheless, he is a man to his word, if you are not satisfied, call him, and he WILL do the job to not only your expectations, but, his, with no extra call fee. I will never have another landscaper/ tree trimmer than Renee and his business, Artistic Trees, but, again, he is not always on site, and his workers have done some really idiotic things, but, all it takes is a call to Renee, and it's back to the growth and glory of your trees and landscape. For Renee I give 5/5..........just make sure to check your trees after the visit, and CALL Renee directly.......he will personally make sure of your satisfaction! He is not cheap, his prices are mid high, but, worth every dime! You will be more than satisfied, and likely will make him your permanent tree sculptor, as well as landscaping designer. read more
