I recently collaborated with Kristin McRae on my kitchen cabinet design. We selected Sollera cabinets from a Canadian company. I am probably one of the most difficult clients because my requirements are not typical: - Schedule: I wanted my cabinets delivered in 3 months, right before Thanksgiving. - Precision: The cabinet design should be error-free to save time during install. They must fit into existing plumbing and electrical. - Style: I need a designer who can understand my aesthetics and overall vision for the design. You can see from the pictures that my cabinets are not typical ones that are trending on Pinterest. I want the design to be artistically balanced, personalized to my taste and decor, timeless, and have vintage vibes. - Cost: I need a designer who can understand trade-offs between cost and functionality. I know my kitchen and how to use it. I don't need fancy features. For example, I made a conscious decision NOT to include 2 Lazy Susans that not only impacted the aesthetic of the overall design but also increased cost and appeared to be useless for my application (my kitchen is big. I don't need optimize every little space.). Instead I added 6 big drawers as focal points. They provide plenty of useful space. - Practicality: I need a designer who understands what it takes to keep a kitchen clean and functional. She should be able to communicate and advise with logical reasoning. - Flexible: I like to explore design options until I am satisfied with the final version. I need to understand pros/cons and visualize design choices until I am happy with the results. I don't like to be rushed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Kristin turned out to be THE dream designer, who met all my requirements. I lost counts of how many times we restarted from scratch. Her flexibility, patience, and experience allowed me to come up with a design that is not only practical but also aesthetically pleasing[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just to show how patient and flexible she was: when I presented a new vent hood spec at the last minute, she changed her design to accommodate it because she understood I had been searching for an ideal hood throughout the design phase.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] She also spent an extra week validating the entire design to ensure everything is perfect. Her attention to details is even more than mine so I trusted her completely. After care: Kristin not only ordered VIP delivery service (making the experience stress-free for me: I didn't have to account for all the boxes delivered), she provided a diagram mapping cabinet ids to her design (making the installation easy), she made herself available for questions to my installers, and when there were damages during installation, she facilitated immediate reorder of the cabinet doors replacement at cost. Although there are many kitchen designers, the one that can be trusted with your dream is not easy to find. My advice is to find a designing company with not just good designers but also reputable cabinet manufacturers. Remember, everything in the kitchen can be updated with new materials, except the cabinets. Our old one lasted 60 years: it was made with solid maple. I expect mine to last another generation. It was a pleasure to work with Kristin. I will be sending friends to her as she is experienced, careful, detailed, and easy to work with. Kristin's kitchen cabinet design met our aesthetic vision, budget, functionality, and schedule.

I absolutely loved working with Julie at Artistic Kitchen on our kitchen project. She was very knowledgeable and knew how to make our project happen. What I admire most about her is her ability to work around any problems and come up with even better solutions. Her attention to detail was key to making our kitchen look unique, beautiful, and functional. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Going through a remodel is no easy task for anyone, but Julie made my experience a lot lighter by taking care of our kitchen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I felt at ease knowing that she was looking out for us and had our best interests in mind. Artistic Kitchen has a variety of products to choose from and in different budget ranges, but the value that Julie provides is invaluable! Will always recommend her to any of our friends and family who are going through a remodel, and I hope we are lucky enough to work with her again.

When we embarked on our journey to remodel our 1980s Kitchen we shopped around at a lot of cabinet vendors. Most vendors came short on their ability to customise the cabinets to what I wanted or they didn't seem to have great problem solving solutions for us. We happen to stumble upon Artistic Kitchen and boy are we so happy we did. I loved their show room set up. I saw all the configurations I wanted in my new kitchen and for the first time since I started planning the remodel I was excited! We worked with Kristin and she helped design out kitchen layout for us. I absolutely loved how she gave us options as to how we can attain all my wish lists items and still have a beautiful layout. She came to the house to look at what we had. Took all the measurements so she would be able to draw up the designs. Then asked me the most important question. What is it you don't like about your kitchen? That for me was heart warming as I felt finally some one wants to understand why I want and better understand our needs. She had us come in a few times to the shop And work on the design layout until we were happy. I seriously appreciate that we had time to figure out what we wanted as it's tough to decide everything in one day. Plus We didn't feel pushed or pressured to making a decision right on the spot. Kristin helped us pick the right cabinet manufacturer and I am really glad we went with crystal cabinets. The feel of the cabinets is amazing. Solid wood and beautiful craftsmanship. I absolutely love them. We unfortunately didn't have a good cabinet installer and he made lots of errors. Kristin was quick to put me in touch with her contact "Robert" and he was able to come out and fix all the installation mistakes the other guy did. I can't say Thank you enough times on being part of our crazy journey and helping us get this fantastic result in the end. Thank you ever so much!!!

We worked with Julie to pick and design cabinets for an addition to our home. It took us awhile to make up our minds with all the possibilities, but Julie was there every step of the way to make sure the final choices we made turned out amazing!

Vendors: Artistic Kitchen (Mike Ryan), HomeWise (Janelle), Bedrosians (Jenny), Rubenstein Supply Wise team: The 3 A's: Aaron, Alex and Allen. Israel was our day to day supervisor. Estimated Time: 3.5-4.5 months. Wise met this timeline. Positives: Demo: Quick and efficient. They had the place cleared out in 2 days. Prior to demo, their team helped us move our large pieces of furniture into our storage pod. I consider this above and beyond helpful. Flexible: As they started the prep for electrical and plumbing, we made changes and add-on's. For any unforeseen issues, they were responsive. Media niche: The team built out the area exactly to my husband's design. The owner dropped by to view the project and gave us an idea on how to build out the space for our TV mount. We are happy with the result. Fire place: The stone ledger was installed by Oliver per the design. The final product is gorgeous. Kudos to Oliver! Bathroom: Although small, the demo process was challenging as we have a concrete subfloor. It felt like they were grinding for days to prep for the shower. Once we selected our tile, their installer (Jesus) helped us with the layout and it came out beautifully. Kitchen: The prep work for the cabinet install, plumbing and electrical was completed in a timely manner. Wise's cabinet installer, David guided the team through the install process. David is meticulous and skillful at his craft. Allen: This was my first large remodel project and I wanted to have a designer to help guide me through the process. Allen came out to meet us and learn about our style choices and helped us with the challenging process of picking a lot of materials. He kept a spreadsheet which we could update ourselves. I had inspiration photos and he collaborated with us to bring it all together. Allen's design drawings gave us true picture of the final product. So much so that we ended up changing our bathroom tile because we didn't like how it looked in the drawings. Allen was patient, helpful, responsive and has a keen eye for design. Areas for Improvement: Communication, Attention to detail, Slowing down. These things came up throughout the project and mostly corrected to our satisfaction. I will list a couple of examples: Flooring installation: We were considering having our floor vendor do the installation but the savings in our Wise bid was not that much and Aaron assured us that his team was experienced with installing engineered hardwood. We asked the team to pick the planks with the least blemishes and lay them in the open areas while the others could be installed under the cabinets or closets. I don't know if there was a language barrier during communication but my husband ended closely watching the team and picking out the planks himself. This took a fair amount of his time and shouldn't have. We also noticed in the front entryway that some of the planks squeaked and flexed. We could not accept this because it was in a high traffic area. The solution they came up with was to drill small holes and inject enough glue so that the planks would not flex. We were nervous about this but figured it would be better than tearing up a portion of the floor and reinstall them. Thankfully, it worked and there is only a tiny hole which is not noticeable. The ovens needed to be wired for 240V but was wired to 120V. This was clear in the oven's instruction manual. It was corrected. We purchased very expensive outlets for our kitchen island and requested that they be installed flush to the panels. My husband even sent a PDF with instructions in WhatsApp to be communicated to the team. Either it never made it to the team, or they didn't follow instructions. We couldn't redo them because the damage to the panels was not acceptable to us. A couple of cabinet doors had the wrong size hole drilled for the handles. I did map out each door with specific handle size. They corrected this at no cost to us. I created a final TODO/correction list after final inspection and they completed everything to our satisfaction. Overall I am excited with the final results, especially with my kitchen. The Wise team were cooperative, courteous and professional. See my before/after pics.

Going into this, we were absolutely terrified--especially after hearing so many horror stories about year-long delays on major renovations. Because we had to live in an Airbnb with our two small children during construction, timing was everything. Choosing Eli and his team was the best decision we could have made. They completed this massive project in just four months, beating their initial six-month estimate. More importantly, they turned what could have been an incredibly stressful ordeal into a smooth, streamlined process. Eli walked us through each and every step with detailed weekly updates, keeping us entirely in the loop. We were actually out of town for two of those months, but because of his proactive communication, his team made lightning-fast progress while we were away. We are thrilled with the final result. There have been multiple unresolved issues with the quality of work and follow-through. One example is an LED light that continues to flicker. It has been more than six months, with many calls and text messages, but the issue still has not been fixed. Another example is damage to our garage cabinet, where a hole was created during the work. We are still waiting for this to be repaired as well. Overall, the lack of timely resolution and poor communication after the project has been extremely frustrating.

Overall, the project went well, and we're happy with the final results. Bryan, our foreman, was a strong asset to the project. Even though he was managing multiple jobs at the same time, his responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to address our concerns made a big difference. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.

We went with Greenberg because they knew how to do modern houses and how to deal with the City. We went from horrible hideous uninsulated shack to a gorgeous gem where we can Age in Place! Every single person who has walked in says, "WOW! It's beautiful! It's incredible what you guys have done!" We have friends & professionals who have built/renovated many houses all exclaim what a high-end luxe job this was! We could not have done this without Greenberg. In particular, we worked with the wonderful Ohad Sherion throughout the process who managed all the subs, city departments involved, neighbors, vendors, etc. Our attention was elsewhere as we were very busy with our work, caring for our elders, so it was invaluable that Ohad kept us up-to-date throughout the process. Ohad was able to make our wishes come true, including bathrooms with custom tiles that were no longer available--so he found us an artisan who recreated them by hand. To make the small space look and feel spacious, we went with an open concept which left few walls to hang art. From the beginning, we worked with Ohad to create a design to showcase our art collection. Ohad is persistent and works to get projects not only functional but beautiful. For example, we have a unique front door which needed to be tweaked and he patiently worked with subs to make it happen. My husband was thrilled that we ended up with a house with superb insulation (including sound), up-to-date plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems. He feels great about the new roof and solar panels. But I am in love with the amazing personal details that make this place a home (finally). We are so grateful to Ohad. He'd worked with one of our friends previously, and so we knew he'd do a great job for our project. We also loved Greenberg's integrated approach. The architect, constructions, design and management was all done by Greenberg. This meant that the project from top to bottom was aligned with the team actually doing the construction work. My top priorities were 1) a modern home design 2) a job done with high quality 3) low stress. Ohad / Greenberg helped deliver on all of these aspects in spades. The last thing I wanted to do was have to coordinate with flaky contractors, have to re-do low quality work after a long day at work. Ohad kept the project on track and handled all the hassle of dealing with subcontractors & inspectors. Greenberg probably won't be the cheapest contractor you'll talk to, but as the saying goes - you get what you pay for. Quality work, up to code, and no drama is well worth the cost. Ohad worked with us throughout the project to consider different budget options, and gave candid advice about where he thought the budget would be best spent. Overall, highly recommend. I was referred by a friend and have put multiple friends in touch with Greenberg for their projects as well. Everyone is floored by house nice our remodel turned out and will 100% be in touch in the future for any future projects we have.
