If I could leave negative stars I would. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!!…read moreI purchased a skirt from this place on a Saturday afternoon to wear the next day at church. When I put the skirt on the next morning the zipper slider fell off. I needed the skirt to work so I tried to zip the skirt which was working and then the zipper split open. The skirt was the right size but the zipper malfunctioned. Unfortunately I was unable to wear the skirt. I was able to carefully undo the busted zipper. The next Wednesday I took the skirt in with the zipper pieces, tag and my receipt. Initially the owner would not allow me to exchange the skirt because side she said I broke the zipper. I told her the product is defective and I just wanted to exchange the item. The lady finally calmed down and agreed I could exchange the item. This should have been a no brainer since I was within the seven day exchange window. As I'm looking for a replacement item, the lady decides to charge me $10 for the exchange. I told her I would NOT pay her anything to exchange her defective product. Thats price gauging!!! I left with the skirt and will have the zipper replaced at my local cleaners. Trying to support black owned businesses is often not worth the headache. DO NOT SHOP HERE!!!!

Horrible customer service Treat your own people badly!…read moreA shame they are more about the money. Sad because I went there to support Black business and on the first day of Kwanzaa and all they care about is the money... CAPITALISTS!!!!! Dec 24th I went shopping to buy our family's 1st Kinara for our first Kwanzaa Celebration. We found one but I wanted my Sweetheart to see it first and he was at work. The owner told me they would be open until 10pm the next day and he would hold it. The next day I went there at 6pm with a sick child and the mall was closing and they were already closed. I called the number on the door and the owner apologized and said they messed up and didn't realize they were closing early and said they would come in on Christmas to sell it to me and call me since I was only 10 min away. NO CALL! Gave your word but Ok no problem it's Christmas. Today Dec 26th at 10am she calls me and says she has it and apologized for not calling Christmas Day. I said ok we want it please hold it and we will be there today before you close. She said okay she would put it away. We get there at 5pm and it's gone. Owner says well We called at 10 this morning and someone else wanted to buy it. WHAT!!! Just say you won't hold it. FOUL!!!! Don't give your word if you are really all about the money. And had the nerve to have a dismissive attitude. No KINara for our first day of our first family Kwanzaa. How we do our own. Sad part is we were going to get it from someplace else but I gave my word and they were holding it for us.... damn shame! No INTEGRITY

How would this make you feel? A contractor has to do repairs…read moreon your house that the bank is paying for, so you decide you want new floors. He's only responsible for a portion of the floor and you have to pay out of your pocket for the rest. So, the installers you have to pay tells you it all needs to be done at the same time in order for the floor to look right. The contractor doesn't want to wait for you to schedule the other installers because he can't get paid until his work is done so he tells you he'll just do it all at no cost to you. He comes out and has his guys do 90% of the work and leaves a small portion undone and 1st tells you that you can let the other installers finish that (after telling you he would do it and knowing they said it had to be done at the same, thus, putting you in a bind to try to force you to use him). He then attempts to get money out of you by saying he'll finish it for a fee. The price he asks is too much but you tell him you're willing to pay his per sq. foot price (he claims he didn't hear you). Several weeks later, you call him and ask about finishing it because the other installer won't finish someone else's work, and he tell's you he's going to charge you $350 to finish it, factoring in gas and travel. How would you feel, especially considering you offered to pay the sq. foot price while he was still in your home having no need for gas or travel at that time? Here's a pic of what was left undone....I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HP HOME IMPROVEMENTS IN LAWRENCEVILLE TO ANYONE!!!!!! Every price he quoted me was AT LEAST 3 times higher than what I ended up paying someone else for the work. Word of advise, when dealing w/a contractor, try to find someone who actually gets their hands dirty. The ones that are too pretty to get their hands dirty are charging you to pay them and the people they end up getting to do the work. Just cut out the middle man and pay the actual worker!!!!!!!

We have a huge deck that needed treatment after I pressure washed it…read more Greg came out and looked over the deck and was very prompt in emailing us a quote. The price was fair and he helped me pick out a color. The job included taking off everything on the deck and putting it all back after the deck dried. Three men showed up and blew off the deck first and worked together to efficiently paint and roll the railing and diagonal posts. One man on one side and another man on the opposite side. Another man rolled the top railings. Finally the floors were treated. Our huge deck was finished in a day because of the efficiency of the men working. I thought this job would take several days but it only took one. We plan to use this company again to paint the outside of our home and do some home improvement inside our house. The quality of their work is stellar!

I hired Parkview Restoration for a kitchen remodel and was really disappointed in the lack of…read morequality workmanship and detail - too many examples to list in a review but have attached some pics. Dee said I was "particular" and I totally am. Especially, when I am paying someone $20k. I expect quality workmanship. Don't intermix raw and stained molding. Nail the molding all the way in, not leave nails out 1/8" to catch on things and then be told they will not take responsibility to floor damage if they nail all the way in. Really??? Two small examples of many. Also, found them to have no regard for my personal property. Many existing things in my house damaged and when I brought this to Dee's attention he referred to a paragraph in the contract that states Parkview Restoration was not responsible for any property damage. Wow! Cabinets are of good construction but scratched in several areas. One the drawers had wood chipped out at the dovetail and I was told it would not be replaced as no one would see it. Not acceptable in my mind. After the job was 99 percent done and only the punch list left (I had paid all monies owed accept for 10% which equated to about $325), I asked for a completion date of the punch list as I hadn't heard from Dee in 5 days after picking up the final check. He said he was having health issues and wouldn't be able to compete the punch list and that I should hire someone else to finish. I told him that was unacceptable and he must have someone on his team that could finish up. After going back and forth he sent a contractor out to finish the job. In summary, if you are not "particular" like me you will probably be happy with their work. But if you are detail oriented and particular like me, you won't be happy.

The owner, Dee Giarratano is a crook!…read more Halfway through our project he quit after causing over $18K in damage to our house and refused to honor the contract that he provided to us. We then found out that he was in the process of declaring bankruptcy and owed every sub we talked to over $10K (at least 7 companies). Part of the damage he caused was weeks of water damage after not being able to tarp our house properly after removing the roof. He kept telling us that he had run a mold remediation company and that we didn't need to hire anyone to inspect the house since he would do it. He then sent a guy that he picked up in a Home Depot parking lot (probably) with a gallon of spray under our house for 15 minutes and said we were good. Dee never went under the house himself to inspect it. After he quit we called the company that Dee said was the best and would confirm his assessment. They found massive mold, especially under my kid's rooms, and we had to pay $3,000 to fix. Dee (and his lawyer) refused to answer our calls/emails despite the fact that Dee's contract stated that he was responsible to fix this. He also provided a fake certificate of insurance to us and our bank, which we found out after calling the company that was listed as issuing it and they told us they stop covering him in 2014 (it's now 2016) because he owed them $16K.. thankfully our house didn't catch fire or we would have lost everything. Besides all that, his idea of "quality work" was embarrassing, and after he quit we had to replace a large amount of the work he did. Sadly, in some places we didn't find the problems until too much other work had been done and for the rest of our lives we will have to live with reminders of what a terrible job he did. We found out that he was fired within weeks on the next job after removing flooring (mistakenly?) and selling it without permission from the homeowner for pennies on the dollar and pocketing the money. He then asked the guy that bought it to lie on a call with the homeowner to cover his own ass. Under no circumstance hire Dee or whatever fake company he starts to hide his bankruptcy and debts.
