How would this make you feel? A contractor has to do repairs on your house that the bank is paying for, so you decide you want new floors. He's only responsible for a portion of the floor and you have to pay out of your pocket for the rest. So, the installers you have to pay tells you it all needs to be done at the same time in order for the floor to look right. The contractor doesn't want to wait for you to schedule the other installers because he can't get paid until his work is done so he tells you he'll just do it all at no cost to you. He comes out and has his guys do 90% of the work and leaves a small portion undone and 1st tells you that you can let the other installers finish that (after telling you he would do it and knowing they said it had to be done at the same, thus, putting you in a bind to try to force you to use him). He then attempts to get money out of you by saying he'll finish it for a fee. The price he asks is too much but you tell him you're willing to pay his per sq. foot price (he claims he didn't hear you). Several weeks later, you call him and ask about finishing it because the other installer won't finish someone else's work, and he tell's you he's going to charge you $350 to finish it, factoring in gas and travel. How would you feel, especially considering you offered to pay the sq. foot price while he was still in your home having no need for gas or travel at that time? Here's a pic of what was left undone....I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HP HOME IMPROVEMENTS IN LAWRENCEVILLE TO ANYONE!!!!!! Every price he quoted me was AT LEAST 3 times higher than what I ended up paying someone else for the work. Word of advise, when dealing w/a contractor, try to find someone who actually gets their hands dirty. The ones that are too pretty to get their hands dirty are charging you to pay them and the people they end up getting to do the work. We have a huge deck that needed treatment after I pressure washed it. Greg came out and looked over the deck and was very prompt in emailing us a quote. The price was fair and he helped me pick out a color. The job included taking off everything on the deck and putting it all back after the deck dried. Three men showed up and blew off the deck first and worked together to efficiently paint and roll the railing and diagonal posts. One man on one side and another man on the opposite side. Another man rolled the top railings. Finally the floors were treated. Our huge deck was finished in a day because of the efficiency of the men working. I thought this job would take several days but it only took one. We plan to use this company again to paint the outside of our home and do some home improvement inside our house. HP Home Improvements has just completed painting the interior of our house, repairing a ceiling in the garage and a couple of other minor repairs. They are fast, neat and prompt. The crew were pleasant to deal with and very patient with a couple of seniors who followed them around asking questions and chatting. We'll miss those smiling faces! These guys did a roof for me over ten years ago which is still in super shape. Now I had them paint the exterior of my home. They were fast and thorough - including some areas of siding that needed fixing and all those darn carpenter bee holes. Always reliable, but the best part is....near the end of the the job after the painting was mostly finished, I saw one of the workers climbing up a ladder with a board. It was in an area on my roof were a front gable falls into the roof line. Pretty much unseen. Well, there was bad wood there and I think most painters would have left it knowing I would never see it. Nope, they found it on their own and repaired it and painted it good as new. That is honest work for you! read more

Was contracted to do repairs on the house I purchased by the owner. Terrible, botched window trim, had to call them to come out to do it over, did my shower and left the glass 2" out of level had to call him, tells me $2000 for new glass, then sends a guy out and he cuts it correctly in 15 mintues. Was supposed to fixs the water damaged garage ceiling seams and repair the garage ceiling, HORRIBLE job, called him to come back out and do it right but had furniture from the move in the garage, he said they would do it when I got the garage cleaned out, called him a 2 months later and now he refuses do do the work.
