We have been calling and emailing DeckPro for weeks trying to get them to replace the center board of herringbone pattern they did on our deck, per terms of the contract. (With the herringbone pattern, centerboard was to be replaced after the wood dried out, to eliminate gaps left by shrinkage.). They have not returned calls, and the couple of times that someone actually picked up when I called, the response to my request was, "l'll check with Frank and get back to you." No one has called back to date. Hiring another contractor to finish their job at this point will cost more than the final payment that was tied to getting that board replaced. Wesley was awesome! DeckPro staff communicated with my family and I from start to finish. The project (Deck) began and ended on time. Their were some minor hiccups that were rectified immediately. I plan on utilizing their services for a future project. read more

We had agreed on stairs for the deck. Pictures and sample drawings. When finishing they tried to not install the stairs. They wanted hundreds more for what we had already paid. The owner pulled out religion, yelled at my wife and told her shes going to hell. Do not use. read more

Please read before hiring them. I tried to do a half star but couldn't. I made a deck purchase with them. The sales pitch was great but that is the only thing that was great. Signed the contact paid them and things went down hill from there. I will try to make it short but for the full story look at homeadvisor.com they delivered wood and said someone would be by to start the deck. They did not show nor did they call. Then we got a surprise visit at 8 am on memorial day. They were there to start, tried calling office and no answer. The 2 day project took approx 2 wks. Again during which time they were not showing up on time. When we called to complain Tamara listened and thank us. We also asked for a sales Rep to call before all of this as we wanted additional projects, but I guess they don't need the work. Never called us in fact I called several times and decided to forget it. Now time for the stain, we called to set up a time. We asked about the deck getting 2 costs the guy mark? Said let me check, came back and said yes. Made the appt. The guys comes and puts the 1st coat on and said I will be back tomorrow for the other coat. We waited all day with several calls to the office and no answer. Then at 5 Tamara answered and I asked about the guy. She said he's coming. I said it's 5 she said I know but he will be there, her only had a little to do. Needless to say, he did not show. The next day he shows to touch up the frame and leaves. He did not put a second coat on it. So I called to ask why Tamara said we only do one coat. I told her at the beginning I called and they said 2 coats. I told her my frustration from the beginning to the end. Tamara said I asked the owner and we could put the second coat on for 1,000 she must have thought I lost my mind. In addition to all of this we find out that they have used a stain that on the can says in door use only. But Tamara claims to be an expert on stains and said it's fine. So I guess she knows more than the manufacturer Why on earth would I give them another penny for anything. Why don't they complete the job at hand. Not to mention how much is stain? Certainly not 1,000 I asked for the owners name she said Frank Fore. She then said thanks for the feedback, I said why you don't do anything about it. After reading everything Frank Fore teaches the habits. Whatever you do don't sign a contact. Shame on me for not researching because now I have and I would not have used them. Hopefully people will start relying on the web more and more. Shame on them for taking advantage of people. They could have had a lot more business deals. I hope Karma catches up to them. read more

Update: Due to shoddy install, now my deck build has started to leak into the wall of the house. What a mess. After several attempts they have not returned phone calls. Avoid this business like the plague, they are now called dickpro in my house. Steer clear of this contractor. Check BBB, they are an F rated business. Be aware this contractor staffs using work release people just out of jail/rehabs which of course is not mentioned. Deckpro was eager to start on my job, but were not committed to finishing what they started, especially once they got most of money agreed to in the contract. They claimed good understanding of the local building code, but failed inspection then disappeared for a week once red carded, promising to show each day and then never did. I could not get them to answer status questions honestly or return phone calls consistently after they failed inspection. The deck build was of good quality, but not great. For what I paid (and I paid too much) they did not do all the needed finishing work and the lack of honesty on the dates and times they said they would show up and status of things was off putting. The other vendors they hired to do some of the add on work did not do a good job and left work unfinished. I had to hire another vendor to redo or complete the remaining things. read more

The owner, Frank Fort Sr., seems like a nice guy when you first meet him, but once you hand him the final check you wont see or hear from him again. He made numerous false promises to finish my deck and has not followed through. Deck Pro is a dishonest company that exhibits inferior craftsmanship, and abominable customer service.
