Tom was great, nice van to take us to vineyards, food was good, wine was amazing. All in all a good time

Anne D.

Our wine tour experience was extraordinary. Tom was customer focused from the beginning where he picked us up from our hotel through the time he dropped us off. His knowledge of the Valley and wine was educational, and he listened to our interests to make our wine tour as customized as possible. The wineries selected were amazing, especially at Tomi Cellars where the wines were delicious and high quality. Tom made sure he picked up lunch for us and was very attentive throughout the day. Highly recommend Artisan Excursion Wine Tours if you are in the Valley. Tom is so wonderful, so try to join a tour with him. Thanks to Tom for an awesome day of wine tasting and exploring the Valley.

If you are looking for off the beat winetasting this is the tour for you. Tom is going to take you to the smaller "farm to table" places in the area. The first place we visited was in a family home and we sat in their backyard as they described to us all of the local wine makers in the Santa Ynez Valley that are associated with the wine collective they have created. Gabe jr was knowledgeable and personable and we enjoyed learning about his family history -- as well as the local region. The second place we went to wasn't that impressive at first sight because it is in an industrial park, but once we went inside and learn more about this local family's history we were immediately enchanted. The wine was delicious, the pours were generous, and we got to taste local wine direct from the barrel. Such a special treat! The final destination was a lovely farm/ranch where we got to feed baby carrots to a cute horse, and sip a lovely glass of Chardonnay while overlooking a lush vineyard, enjoying the slight summer breeze. The sandwiches and salads were delicious and Tom was an exceptional host, albeit a little quiet at times. Not the most gregarious of characters but lovely all the same. We ended up buying a few bottles of wine at the various wineries and wrapped up our day with absolute delight. Highly recommend this tour for those looking for an intimate wine tasting experience with a local flavor.

Booked this wine tour as a date day for my husband and I on the small group tour. We went during "off season" so when we met our tour driver we were pleasantly surprised to find out it was just the two of us for the day! We have been going to Solvang for years and this was the first time we had gone on a tour. Our driver was so nice and knowledgeable. We went to 3 wineries, all very different. First one was at the home of a wine maker in their beautiful back yard, the second was in Buellton (which was our favorite, we even bought a wine club), and the third was at a bigger winery. We had ample time at each destination and the lunch was delicous. We cannot wait to come back and do this again with a group of friends. If you are considering taking this tour, DO NOT HESITATE!

My partner and I had a great time on this tour. We were slightly concerned about touring, because of Covid restrictions and safety, but the tour was small (6 people total on mine) and every winemaker we visited was outdoors w/ hand sanitizer, masks required, etc. Tom took great care of us. I had to call and reschedule a couple times due to changes in plans, and he was super helpful and made the whole process easy and uncomplicated. The wineries and vintners we visited were varied and tasty, from larger, beautiful vineyards (LaFond) to small-batch winemakers like Esfuerzo where sometimes we were trying wines that only had 900 bottles in existence. And we got to drink out of the barrel as well, which was a unique experience. On top of all this, Tom picked us up and dropped us off directly in front of our hotel. Really worth every penny.

We had the best experience today! The van picked us up at our hotel and off we went on our adventure. We visited 3 different wineries for wine tasting and had a preordered lunch. The all inclusive fee is worth it! Tom is a great host and shared many stories about the region, recommended places to see and eat. The van is very roomy and comfortable. I can't wait to bring friends and go again.

A very happy and joyful experience at all 3 Wineries!

Artisan Excursion Wine Tours has amazing service! I used Expedia and it was very easy to book. All the information was provided to make to sure we were prepared for everything. Tom, was very personable and warm, yet professional. He opened the Van doors for us, placed a stepping stool and provided excellent customer service. Tom was also an awesome tour guide and provided a very fun wine tasting experience! Our experience at each of the wineries (3) was very pleasant and Tom knew exactly the right places for us. His driving was very smooth and comfortable. We felt safe and I had no anxiety like I usually do when I'm in a car not driving. Oh and not to forget that I accidentally forgot my Oakley sunglasses in the Van and didn't realize it until 2 days later (I blame the WINE) lol. I text messaged Tom and he checked for me. Thankfully my sunglasses were in the back seat and Tom recovered them for me. He offered to mail them back to me via UPS. Now that's what you call GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Artisan Excursion Wine Tours has 5 star service and I HIGHLY recommend them. See you again soon Tom!

This was THE BEST wine tour my fiancé and i have ever been on! Tom was beyond knowledgeable, helpful, and professional. It's definitely worth it because of the simple fact that we weren't familiar with the area so Tom was about to recommend different restaurants and activities that we wouldn't have been able to find on yelp. He picked us up from our hotel in Solvang, took us to three amazing wineries that were very private and comforting, then he dropped us back off at our hotel. Worth every penny, we actually would've paid more. Thank you for the great experience Tom!

I don't usually leave reviews anymore since everyone is saying the same general things. However, Tom should know that he did a great job with the 3 wineries he chose to take us to on the tour and it was great to be able to do the tastings without feeling rushed. Great unique wineries that I probably wouldn't have found in my own. We also got to feed goats and horses!

This wine tour was fantastic and Tom was excellent. We were a small group and it made the experience very personal. Tom took us to three wineries where we got a firsthand education on the wine making business, tasted exquisite wines, and then got to stroll the grounds. The first winery was our favorite because it was a small estate and we got to meet the owner and sit in his backyard. Talk about an intimate tour. On our second stop we had lunch. The sandwiches were so delicious and Tom provided everything we needed to complete the meal. The best thing about Artisan Excursion is that it wasn't a big commercial tour of the huge wineries, with a huge crowd of rowdy people. Since my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary, we were looking for something special and that is exactly what we got with Tom and Artisan Excursion. I highly recommend this tour. We will definitely be back.

From the very beginning, Eric, the owner, was such a pleasure to work with. He was incredibly accommodating and flexible, especially since our Airbnb was located in a more mountainous area of Santa Barbara. Our driver, Tom, was absolutely fantastic. He was a great driver, extremely knowledgeable about the area and wineries, and shared so much interesting information throughout the day. Another great perk was that lunch was included, which made the day even more enjoyable and convenient. A great little unexpected touch was a stop at a little olive oil and balsamic vinegar stand between wineries. It was such a nice addition to the day and made the tour feel even more personalized. If you're looking for a stress free wine tour with wonderful communication, I highly recommend looking into Stagecoach Wine Tours. The pricing is great and it was truly an amazing experience. Will definitely be booking with them the next time I am in Santa Barbara/surrounding areas!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I felt compelled to share my experience at Sunstone Winery…read more The problems started before we even arrived. When I called to modify my reservation a week prior to our visit and add additional guests, the staff member I spoke with was rude, sounded annoyed by my questions, and ended the call abruptly without even saying goodbye. Looking back, I should have taken that as a warning of what was to come. When we arrived for our 11:00 a.m. reservation, the host stand staff were not welcoming or friendly. I was informed that because of the size of our party (12 people), two tables could be pushed together, but we would be charged an additional $50. This had never been communicated to me during my phone call. Had I known there would be an extra charge simply to accommodate the size of our group, I would not have proceeded with the reservation. I then asked if our group could be seated at two separate tables, but was told no because the tables were in different server sections. There was no effort to offer alternatives or find a solution. The interaction felt very transactional and unaccommodating. What made this even more frustrating was that the winery was not busy. In fact, we were told it was "graduation season" and a slower weekend, so the lack of flexibility was surprising. Eventually, I suggested that we sit at one table and have a few people stand. As it turned out, the table was actually large enough for our entire group, which left me confused as to why the additional table and fee had been suggested in the first place. As we were being seated, we were informed that because of our group size, we would be doing bottle service and would not be permitted to participate in wine tastings. This was another policy that had never been mentioned when I modified my reservation. Since this was our first visit to the area, wine tasting was the primary reason we chose to visit Sunstone. At that point, we were seriously considering leaving altogether. The hosts repeatedly asked who I had spoken with on the phone, which I couldn't remember. I explained that I wasn't blaming the individual helping us at that moment, but I was disappointed that important details regarding fees and tasting restrictions had never been communicated. Thankfully, Aaron stepped in. He interrupted the conversation and offered to accommodate our group with tastings. Aaron completely changed the trajectory of our visit. He was kind, professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in making sure we had a great experience. Thanks to him, we stayed, enjoyed the wines, and ended up purchasing more than 20 bottles. The wine was great, and Aaron was exceptional. Unfortunately, the rest of our experience with the staff left a lasting impression. Customer service starts long before the wine is poured, and every interaction before Aaron felt dismissive and unfriendly. The only reason I'm giving more than one star is because of Aaron. Without him, we would have left before ever tasting the wine.
