The pictures that I've seen online of this place makes this place look better than it really is. I think one of the things that rubbed me the wrong way was when we checked in for the tasting. We didn't have a reservation, but clearly they had lots of space to accommodate us. However, don't make it seem like that they couldn't fit us in. That's how the hostess presented themselves to us. Don't be pretentious. When we parked, there were instructions in the parking area to find a red umbrella for check-in. I still think the best thing about this winery was the live entertainment. I really enjoyed his singing. The point was to do the wine tasting, but it was just okay.

Absolutely LOVE this vineyard and the team, especially Robin who always takes great care of us! The ambience is beautiful and relaxing and the wines are amazing.

    Tasting wines at Lincourt

We stopped at Lincourt on Saturday for a tasting. We had a lovely sitting area with an umbrella. Blake poured our wine and shared lots of information. The outside area is very picturesque and the service was great. We really enjoyed ourselves and bought several bottles of wine.

An absolute gem! The staff is amazing--warm, knowledgeable, and passionate about their wines, making the tasting experience even better. Their Cabernet Sauvignon is hands down the best in the area--rich, smooth, and full of depth. The peaceful setting adds to the charm, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a great glass !

It was a rainy day, but we found a rainbow for a little bit!

Holiday at the Estate is put on by Foley winery and the Foley Society. In the valley, customers can go to Foley, Firestone, or Lincourt and receive a wine tasting and food pairing. The food options at Lincourt this year were really good! They had different pizzas, but not your standard toppings. My favorite was the butternut squash pizza! It was raining outside, but the staff handled it really well and made sure customers were covered and heaters were provided. The staff helping us actually offered more tastings when we finished the ones provided. Being a member of the Foley Society, we were able to get 4 complimentary tickets. Just be sure to book your reservations in advance. The event booked up so fast that we couldn't get tickets to Foley- only Lincourt and Firestone.

    Walk ins NOT accepted.

If you don't accept walk-ins you may want to take it off your sign. We have been foley family members for 15+ years and the last 3 times we've been to Lincort, we've been turned away. What happened to the days where you could just show up and enjoy your tasting without being on a tight schedule? When I tried to make reservations I had to pay. We came up to pick up wines from Firestone, they are closed due to the fire. Thought- let's just swing into lincort instead, nope!

With the memory of Tatiana ten years behind me I should re-review Lincourt. The staff is now nothing short of amazing and I love that it is a historic "Sears House" purchased from a catalog over 100 years ago from the Sears Catalog. There is a registry of surviving Sears Houses. Quite an interesting historical story. Lincourt is one of a dozen or more Foley wineries and being a member of any gives you membership privileges at all the others. They are open arms to me in Sonoma, Napa, the and several Within 40 minutes of me. Consistently great wines that seem to improve year after year. I'm excited that this long overdue updated review will raise their Yelp score a tiny bit. They deserve it.

Beautiful scenery among new vines and rolling hills

As a Foley Society wine member, Lincourt Vineyards was the only local family property I hadn't yet been to. Now I am asking myself why I waited so long! Perhaps it's because I'm not a huge fan of Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs--which the Santa Ynez Valley is predominantly known for and they offer at Foley Vineyards in Lompoc. To my surprise, Lincourt is hidden in the beautiful Ballard Canyon among the few remaining farms and stables. Upon our group's arrival, I was surprised by the fact that they were pouring a Carmenere, Rosé, and ending with a Cabernet Sauvignon. Very different from my expectations. We sat under a gazebo and we spoiled to have Julian be the one helping us out. He was super welcoming, knowledgeable about the Foley properties, and great all around. After all, he dealt with our questions and silly banter which was much appreciated. If you seek a pleasant property outside of downtown Los Olivos with approachable wines and an affordable price point, be sure to make a reservation at Lincourt Vineyards.

Staff is so friendly and willing to share their wine knowledge. They have fabulous Wines including their Chardonnay and Cabernet. At this time they only offer reservations so plan ahead. You won't be disappointed. One more plus they are dog friendly.

    Nice ambience!
    Nennette F.

What a beautiful winery and vineyard and dog-friendly with its covered patio and lawn chairs and green grass! As for the wine, we are not big on white wine, but after tasting the Three Sisters Chardonnay, let's just say, we're not ready to be converts just yet, but we are definitely convinced! It's the best white we've ever tasted! The service is good, but disappointed to find out they were out of stock on munchies, which I absolutely need whenever I go wine tasting (or else my stomach will revolt) so keep that in mind if you have that issue. Overall, it was a fabulous experience and we loved all the wines we tasted, but most of all, our dog really enjoyed it! We might even be able to off-leash him (wink) and they probably wouldn't mind. Just kidding--just another way to say everyone there is dog-friendly! A big plus for us dog parents (and the only reason we chose this winery in the first place).

Lincoirt deck tasting area. Rose wine.
    Claudia M.

I love Lincourt. Every time I come the customer service is so good! Welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable. The scenery is nice. Love the Sears house and there's always a nice area to sit and enjoy your tasting. Kid and dog friendly too. I'm not a big Rose person but their Rose is perfect blend. I always grab a few bottles to enjoy at home. Specially in the summer. The Chardonnay in steel barrel is a must if you don't like the rich buttery taste. If I'm in Los Olivos, Lincoirt is a must.

    The views are wonderful

What a wonderful experience. Robin served us and she was fantastic! She was so nice, fun and very knowledgeable about the wines and the history of this property and the other properties they own. I highly recommend tasting here. All their wines are excellent.

It was the first of five tastings we did during our weekend in town, and the wines were, admittedly, the least impressive. They went down easy, though, and we had a pleasant visit. We checked into our hotel on Friday around 5:30 and quickly realized that all the wineries on our list were closed. We asked the receptionist where we might be able to do a tasting, and she said Carhartt was our best bet. It was quite open when we walked in, almost intimidatingly so, the live music loud as we rounded the sidewalk outside the enclosed patio. Jack welcomed us into the tasting room and suggested we do a vibe check on the patio before deciding where to sit. We peeked outside and it seemed fun in a way we weren't looking for, a bit of a party atmosphere with a live band and a lot of people. We took our seats in the quieter tasting room, where we were able to enjoy the music from a distance while we drank some wine. We both did the house tasting, which came with five pours of Carhartt wines: the 2024 Top Branch, the 2022 Sin Nada, the 2022 Sangiovese, the 2022 Rebel Roan, and the 2020 Northerly. Jack also gave us a taste of the 2021 Graciano. They were all nice wines, but we particularly liked the Sin Nada, the Sangiovese, and the Graciano, and took home two bottles of each, getting one $25 tasting fee waived with each purchase of three bottles. Jack was a great host, and he told us all about the wines and winery as we went along. (He pre-empted our first question, saying that yes, they were the same Carhartts as the Carhartt clothing label, but not the same company. I guess just the classic generational wealth to winemaking pipeline.) It was a helpful introduction to both the Carhartt wines and Los Olivos, and Jack was good company. I said Carhartt was the least impressive of the wineries we visited, but it's also worth noting that it had the lowest price point. Carhartt isn't gunning for Robert Parker ratings. The wines are accessible and tasty, and I have a feeling we'll go through our bottles very fast.

The place is casual and not tiny, but it definitely fills up. I don't think they were taking walk-ins while we were there. The tasting room--or tasting patio, I suppose--was really pleasant, a breezy outdoor space in front of a charming brick-red house with a strong Los Olivos aesthetic. My only complaint is that the bathroom was a porta-potty, though it was the nice kind, with running water. We got our own table and a friendly, knowledgeable young server brought us our wines and explained what we were drinking. He was busy, so this was one of the less in-depth tastings we did on this trip, but the experience was easy and enjoyable. There were two tastings on offer, the classic estate flight and the "fresh and esoteric." Since this was our first visit, we both went with the estate, and it was a great introduction to Stolpman's wines. We tried the 2025 Sauvignon Blanc, the 2024 Chenin Blanc, the 2024 La Cuadrilla, the 2023 Sangiovese, and the 2024 Angeli, the label's flagship Syrah. They were all excellent and very well priced--the Cuadrilla goes for $26. It's also a delicious wine with a cool provenance, a red blend made by Stolpman's vineyard workers on a designated block, in what looks to be a successful profit sharing project. The tasting fee was $25, waived with a three-bottle purchase. We snapped up three each of the Sauvignon Blanc and the Sangiovese, which cost $24 and $36 a bottle. Tremendous value for such outstanding wines. I have a feeling we'll go through these quickly, and may be tempted to join the wine club if we do. Either way, though, I hope to go back to Stolpman. I'm definitely curious about that second tasting.

This place was recommended to us by Gary Burke, owner of Costa de Oro Winery in Santa Maria, and uncle to Jessica Gasca (Story of Soil's owner/winemaker). He mentioned that she likes "experimental, natural style" wines, which didn't sound like our palate, but we thought we'd pop in and give it a try anyway. Oh wow, are we glad we did! The tasting room is quaint/comfortable, and there's a nice outdoor seating area. Brendon poured for us and was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about what we were tasting and the whole operation. Their wines are not 100% natural, but they like the "low intervention" approach. I would describe the wines generally as dry, crisp, and on the lighter body side. They're not your typical big, oaky, California wines, but much more elegant. We tasted and purchased a '23 Sauvignon Blanc, a '22 Grenache, a '21 Syrah, and a '21 GSM. Unfortunately, we didn't get to meet Jessica on our visit, but we'll be heading back for a return visit soon, so maybe we'll get to see and chat with her this time. I'll be able to provide an update shortly.

It's windy, narrow, and steep. Poor June was car sick from the drive. While the drive had some great views, we were anxious to get to Cambria. Upon arrival we noticed that the tasting room was uphill from the vineyards, providing a great view. I will say that the tasting room was cut into a little crevice so the views from the deck are limited. However, there is a beautiful private tasting area on a hill (when you turn into the winery parking lot) that would be a fantastic spot for good views. The wine was nice, plenty of variety. We'd had one of the pinots at a fancy restaurant a few years back and knew the place had a good reputation. We also appreciated the easy walk-in situation on a Saturday afternoon. The tasting room was casual and charming, part "mercantile," selling wine, of course, and sundry gift items and home goods. There was plentiful seating, some of it at the bar and some of it in what felt like a large living room, homily decorated with lots of art on the walls. It was pretty busy while we were there, but not in the least bit crowded. We sat at the bar, which was run by an enormous former football player (if I eavesdropped correctly) and a woman from New Zealand on the verge of retirement. I'd watch that movie. We were helped by the woman, who was friendly and knowledgeable, a great guide to the house wines. The flight started with the 2025 Rosé of Mourvédre, then went to Liquid Farm's Chardonnays and Pinots. There was the 2024 White Hill Chardonnay, the 2024 Golden Slope Chardonnay, the 2023 "SBC" Pinot Noir, the 2023 Fiddlestix Pinot Noir, and the 2023 Four Pinot Noir. The wines were fantastic across the board. The tasting fee was $40, on the steep side, probably because the space invites casual drinking. It was easily waived, with one flight waived per two bottles purchased. The wines were all between $30 and $94, so this was easy math. The kind of easy math that had us leaving Los Olivos with a trunk--and back seat--full of wine. We were told we could taste at Epiphany, Fess Parker, or Fess Parker funk zone in Santa Barbara. Our next visit was in April to their Santa Barbara funk zone location. It was a windy day so we had to sit indoors. It was semi busy but we were able to get seats at the bar. That's where it started to go downhill. The gentleman at the bar was quite arrogant and basically told us we could only taste a select few wines, unless we wanted to 'upgrade' and pay an additional fee. Never have I had to 'Upgrade' a tasting at a winery I was a member of. It did not give us a very welcoming feeling. We ended up buying a few bottles, as did our friends, but the experience did not make us want to return. Our next visit in June was again to Epiphany. We arrived at about 4:10 and the young man at the counter said he could not serve us a flight as it was too late. I mentioned that we were members and he did give us 2 pours and gave us our shipment. Again, a very unwelcoming feeling overall. We did not feel like members typically feel. Not sure if we will bother to go to Fess Parker or just cancel our membership.
