We have been very happy with all the projects he has done: * Built a 120 ft beautiful block retaining wall with a metal railing that will probably last longer than our house * Tore out our lower deck and built a larger trek deck in its place, installed a metal railing, rebuilt the stair on the other side of the deck and reinstalled our hot tub! * Built a 20' x 18' attached, permitted shop * Turned an ugly storage room into a beautiful office * Built railroad tie stairway with a landing on both sides of our house and placed 10 huge rocks just where I wanted them. Well my experience with them was not good. My new dishwasher…read morewas supposed to be delivered between 8 and 10 am this morning. I paid for delivery and haul away of old dishwasher. My old dishwasher was still working, but was making a lot of noise and was slowly dying. I removed my old dishwasher last night and had it sitting in my kitchen ready to be hauled away. At 8:15 am they called me and told me they accidentally sold my dishwasher to another customer, and now the don't have anymore. They apologized and said they might be able to deliver different in stock model soon if I wanted to change my order. I asked if soon, meant today. The sales person said probably not. We drove to their store, and looked at the other comparable dishwashers, but they all had features my wife did not like. So we asked how long to get another one of same model we had ordered. They said 1.5 to 2 weeks. I said, that since I didnt want to go 2 weeks without a dishwasher, I would have to re-install my old dying dishwasher and then remove it again in 2 weeks. What a PITA. I then asked for free delivery, install and haul away, since their F'up was costing a lot time and effort. The salesperson went to see if management would okay this request. Management did not. The best they would do was knock about $100 off their fees. I then canceled the order, and ordered from HD. With delivery and haul away included, it was about $60 less than Stover. Plus I could get it in 3 days. So, we got the model we wanted for less money and a much sooner delivery. So I'm not impressed with Stover's customer service, or really doing anything helpful after such a monumental F'up. I was specifically going with a local business because I thought they would have better customer service. I am very disappointed.

Here is my personal experience. I gave them a low rating based on their archaic business practices,…read morenon-transparent sales tactics, and overall operations and how it effects the customer. I like their homes, the designs, and some of the stated costs. I bought one, but be warned or wiser than I was.. When it comes time to sign the contracts, they will have added several thousand dollars in charges, and call it their "gold key service", which is basically their way of raising the price without having to tell you upfront the real cost of the home. Also, realize they can take however long they want to actually build your home. They may provide you with a guess but, if it takes them 2 years to complete, you really have no recourse but to just sit and wait, no matter how much that costs you. And just because your home has been constructed, dont be fooled into thinking its almost over...they can also take however long they want to deliver your home....could be months, while it sits completed in a yard waiting, and of course you'll never be provided with ANY updates or commitments of any kind from them regarding when you're new home will arrive and how many months it will take them to complete the on site work once your home finally does arrive....again, that can also easily take several more months. If you have any questions or problems, or request any kind of commitment you wont get it, and you'll often hear no response or someone telling you...um no, you need to contact this person or that department, I dont handle that. Had I to do it all over again, I probably wouldn't use them...its just not worth dealing with a company that operates like its the 1800's....there are so many other manufacturers that actually do a much better and more responsible job. My home has been sitting for well over 5 weeks, after being delivered, with absolutely nothing being done to complete it, and I have not received any response or reply to countless emails and phone calls.
