The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. They are honest about the insurance process and helpful with estimates. Dr. Weener is straightforward, honest, and charming. He is extremely helpful in determining a path of care as well I highly recommend if you are looking to switch or were nervous to jump back in to dental care after a long time away like I was. They take really great care of their patients and you can tell they love their jobs which creates a warm and inviting atmosphere!

How does this magical place not have a sea of wondrous reviews?! It blows my mind! I started going…read moreto this establishment of dentistry about three years ago when it turned out that my college diet of awful cafeteria food and soda ruined my already weaker-than-paper teeth. Since that fateful day, I have gone back every time I needed a filling (okay, fillings. Lots of fillings) or any other dental problems I've had over the years. I also really need to mention why I returned time and time again: everyone here is a fabulous and friendly person! For me, someone who is quite a pain at the dentist and makes their job 10x harder, they try to make me as comfortable as they can and work with me to get the job done. I'm actually very sad that I no longer live in New Hampshire because it means that I have to find a new dentist. My heart is still broken because I miss the beautiful faces of Krothapalli Family Dental. But I thought I could heal by writing them an excellent review, which I told them I would do at my last appointment back in May. This is, in my super professional opinion, the best dentist's office in the entire world (at least for me).

They didn't take any time to talk to him and let him know what they were going to do. They don't use nitrous, only chloral hydrate (which made my son very "drugged", but did nothing to help calm him), and they expected my husband or me to physically restrain him. The last time we were there I was told that we would have to take him to a hospital in Boston to have him put under general anesthesia just so he could have a cavity filled. I took him to another dentist instead.

I was surprised to later receive a bill as my insurance covers 2 cleanings a year. The woman I spoke with, Michelle, advised my husband received a deep cleaning. This confused me because 1. when my husband had his appointment he came home and told me they barely cleaned his teeth and only cleaned the front 2. I scheduled an appointment to have a routine cleaning, why extra services were performed at that time does not make sense to me at all. I feel like we got scammed to be honest, and my husband never even got a full FREE cleaning, just a half ass "deep" cleaning. Keep it....

I brush and floss religiously, but as a poor grad student, I had neglected the regular cleaning part. Gross, huh? Once I made an appointment, though, I felt SO much better. Sonia sat me down for an initial free consultation, asking me about my oral hygiene habits (yes, I brush and floss; no, I don't smoke) and my appointment preferences (they offer sedation dentistry if needed, which I don't, but it's a good option to have!). She was so nice, and once I set up my initial appointment, my favorable impression of Modern Dental only got better. Modern Dental matches its patients to a hygenist, whom a patient sees each appointment. My hygenist is Kathy, and she is great! She is gentle, but she also doesn't BS, telling me when I'm not brushing long enough. Dr. Houghton is the dentist, and he is also very professional and does a great job. My favorite part of a dentist visit is the goody bag they give patients at the end. Goody bags at the dentist? Oh yes! Each time I go, they give me a tube of toothpaste--seriously the best toothpaste ever, made from all-natural ingredients and a wonderful cleaner. So it tastes like ass--who cares? It really works much better than anything available at the drugstore. They also provide plenty of floss, tongue scrapers, and other fun stuff. The office has also given me, gratis, trial-size toothpaste tubes for my travels. The prices are pretty reasonable--I would gladly pay twice as much for the oral care I receive at Modern Dental. I now don't hesitate to go to the dentist every 6 months.
