Furthermore, the female hygienist was extremely short and rude. Having a bad day, clearly not my fault. Lastly, I received an invoice for services I never asked for. It was just a cleaning but they decided to add more to it. I tried to be civil with billing rep Bryanna, but she too had an attitude and continued to speak over me. Clearly they knew they screwed up. Unprofessional, rude, and outright shady business on failure to notify me of out-of-network insurance. I'm glad I found a better Dental service nearby.

Dr Brar and team have been taking care of me for over six years and for that entire time my experience has been nothing but stellar. Today we completed the crown and bridge work that started three months ago with the installation of five implants. I spent 2-1/2 hours in the chair experiencing Dr Brar's uncompromising pursuit towards perfection which resulted in a most natural look and natural bite one could ever hope for. I brush and floss religiously, but as a poor grad student, I had neglected the regular cleaning part. Gross, huh? Once I made an appointment, though, I felt SO much better. Sonia sat me down for an initial free consultation, asking me about my oral hygiene habits (yes, I brush and floss; no, I don't smoke) and my appointment preferences (they offer sedation dentistry if needed, which I don't, but it's a good option to have!). She was so nice, and once I set up my initial appointment, my favorable impression of Modern Dental only got better. Modern Dental matches its patients to a hygenist, whom a patient sees each appointment. My hygenist is Kathy, and she is great! She is gentle, but she also doesn't BS, telling me when I'm not brushing long enough. Dr. Houghton is the dentist, and he is also very professional and does a great job. My favorite part of a dentist visit is the goody bag they give patients at the end. Goody bags at the dentist? Oh yes! Each time I go, they give me a tube of toothpaste--seriously the best toothpaste ever, made from all-natural ingredients and a wonderful cleaner. So it tastes like ass--who cares? It really works much better than anything available at the drugstore. They also provide plenty of floss, tongue scrapers, and other fun stuff. The office has also given me, gratis, trial-size toothpaste tubes for my travels. The prices are pretty reasonable--I would gladly pay twice as much for the oral care I receive at Modern Dental. I now don't hesitate to go to the dentist every 6 months.

After teeth are removed they then insist you have cadaver bone transplanted into your jaw, which can be rejected, and they wait for it to (MAYBE) heal, so they can then send you for more tests and see if you can have tooth implants installed that take another year or so to heal and hope for no complications which apparently most people end up with! For further info, look at the recent article published by the Head of Harvard University Dental Medical Health. Restorative dental care is healthier and much safer for everyone in both the short and long term. Kalil and Kress no longer do what is best for the patients long term health. We know, we were their clients in the first months they opened their dental office and in 2024 after consulting with our Harvard Medical/Dental MD's and MassGenBrigham, we left Kalil & Kress for a much healthier dental practice !

One would think that Kalil and Kress would find a solution to either provide a discounted rate or some sort of discount for the years of being a loyal customer but this was not the case. Much like Nashua Eye, they grew too big and it was time to leave and find another place to take our business to. Am I sad? I little bit. Could this been prevented? I am not sure. Reception informed us that they would put a note in the account to only schedule appointments with him. My wife had an appointment scheduled with the covered dentist but was informed during the appointment that he had left Maplewood. Subsequently Maplewood billed the insurance with an out of network dentist. No prior notice was given. Absolutely unprofessional and unethical. We will never be back.

Im trained Dental Professional. I was repeatedly lied to that Fluoride was mandatory by both Front Desk staff and Hygenist(C) who cant see very well and has awkward painful beside manners. My legs went into the air as she crushed my lip on both visits leaving me with a permantly cherry colored wound since 2025 spring . I m a retired hygenist. The Asian Dr. dosent seem to know to do a numbing Block on the lower mandibular jaw, thus Thrusting the drill into my tooth and making me pained. When I asked her School she wouldnt respond. Foreign trained Drs do not have the same training as USA. Id rethink this place bc the Dentist vehemently defended his abusive hygenist who was miffed over fluoride decline and his Asian Dr is not aware of proper mandibular anesthesia unless it was a targeted abuse again bc I would not take fluroride resulting in 100.00 monies losses to them.
