*I was in the midst of planning my friends Bridal Shower. Two weeks to the day I forgot the most important detail....THE FLOWERS. A coworker recommended Arthur Avenue Floral since my job uses the shop occasionally. I went to visit the place and the owner Sandra and I completely hit it off from the start. I showed Sandra the theme I was going for which was a Kate Spade theme of White, Black, Hot Pink and Gold. I showed her my ideas as well as my floral selection and she schooled me on what would work and what wouldn't. She was absolutely correct. The Gerbera Daisies I wanted wouldn't work well with the vases I had. Over the next couple of days I purchased four large floral centerpieces. A few days before the party we discussed the venue's set up and we opted that since the tables were large, smaller centerpieces would be ideal. So we went from four to eight centerpieces. She suggested I use green votive candles on the table to make the centerpieces pop. I will admit I saw the Green Votive candles and although they were nice, I was a bit skeptical and thought the color would throw off the theme. But I thought hey let me try them if anything I can always take them off of the tables. Fast forward to the day of the event... The Centerpieces were a HIT! The Green Votive candles did EXACTLY as Sandra stated, they made the flowers and the decor pop! The Venue had a Rustic Wine Cellar look. EVERYONE wanted to take a Centerpiece home. I got to keep two of them! Sandra did such an excellent job with the Centerpieces, that I used her again for my brother and sister in laws Wedding. It was a simple wedding at City Hall in Manhattan. I wanted to gift my sister in law the bouquet so I hired Sandra. I sent Sandra a photo of the material of my sister in laws wedding dress and showed her a photo of my sister in law so that Sandra could match the size of the bouquet to my sister in laws body frame. Sandra created a gorgeous, romantic and simple Cream colored Rose bouquet and a single cream Rose boutonnière for my brother to wear. The bouquet and boutonniere were beloved by my brother and sister in law and our families alike. Sandra did a wonderful job. I would recommend her work to everyone! Sandra provided me top notch service, excellent quality flowers and she oozed Confidence in her Craft! If you're on the market for a Florist, Sandra is your person! I was extremely satisfied as well as delighted with Sandra's help today at Arthur Avenue Florist. First of all, a competing florist does not deliver to the children's school where my friend works, but Arthur Avenue Floral cheerfully delivers there. When I called Sandra about one hour ago, she said they would do their best to try and make the delivery today. One hour later, they are about to deliver--amazing. Sandra also went out of her way to customize and beautify the arrangement that I selected, When it was done, she sent me a digital photo as well as additional texts, to make sure the arrangement met my specifications (which it exceeded) and to ensure that the flowers get delivered to the right person or to the right desk, in case the recipient was unable to meet the driver at the door. No better floral shop in the Bronx...every time I'm in Arthur Ave Floral I feel like I'm on 5th Ave in the heart of Manhattan's finest and exclusive premier establishments. And since I've lived in Manhattan's Greenwich Village and Chelsea very near the flower district I can say firsthand that Arthur Ave Floral is a cut above all the rest... No one anywhere in the Bronx can arrange flowers like Arthur Ave Floral...and I have gone to many and left disappointed seeing the same boring carnation arrangement, rose bouquet with baby's breath, just no sense of arranging different flowers of different complimenting hues together. Unfortunately back in January my cousin passed away tragically at a young age and his wake was in Queens. Being a neighborhood guy, I like to support the local businesses and reached out to Sandra who really went out of her way to accommodate me. Not only did she build a beautiful stand up arrangement and text me a few pictures of the finished arrangement, but she personally delivered it to Queens instead of using a queens store like most other shops would. I just attended a St Patrick's Day party at the venue above (and owned by) Arthur Avenue Floral and it was FABULOUS. Arthur Avenue Floral did an impressive job and the party was festive and energized. The decorations were so creative--the minute we walked in the door we were greeted by little green leprechauns and shamrocks; the tables were abloom with green and white floral arrangements; and the food was beyond gourmet. I called Arthur Avenue Floral the day before my dad's memorial service. I spoke with Sandra and she was so so very nice, considerate and understanding. I didn't know what to ask for, or anything. She patiently asked me questions, and had no problem if I didn't have the answers. When I didn't have a person to accept the delivery at the hall, she said they would take of it and not to worry. The bereavement process is never easy, but Sandra did an amazing job at putting together a memorial service package which allowed us to celebrate my Mother-In-Law's life with much dignity and elegance within a few days notice.
