The catalog Is lovely, very tempting, lots of teas and tea-type goodies. They do a nice job of describing the flavors too. I ordered one tea to try, a beautiful airtight container to keep it on and a cute little tea spoon. Everything arrived quickly and I am really enjoying being able to treat myself in such a delicious manner. Since then, I have placed another order, and plan to continue. P.S. This shop is adorable. But more importantly, the tea is crazy good. I could've bought so many different flavors but I had to restrain myself! I purchased the earl gray and the lavender mint. I've made two batches of cold brew iced tea with the mint tea and every time I drink it, I feel delighted. It's the best iced tea I've ever had! The earl gray smells so good. Earthy and strong but not at all bitter. The tea is incredible. I had my cuppa with a smidge of honey and cream but this tea is so good I want to have my next cup straight so I can enjoy the flavor. I live in Los Angeles so I won't be able to drop in to this Santa Fe treasure again, but I'd you're lucky to be near the Plaza, I highly recommend you stop by and treat yourself to the best tea you'll ever have. read more

This is a cute little tea shop with a nice aesthetic inside and kind staff. One thing I love about this place is that they offer single serve tea bags of their flavors so that you can purchase a sample to try before committing to bulk loose leaf. They offer a lot of tea ware and tea accessories but I was not super impressed with the selection of actual teas. The selection wasn't huge and none of the flavors really stood out to me. A lot of the teas were also named in a way in which you can't tell what the flavor is, for example, "Tuscan Sun". The ingredients were not listed on the front of the tea bags/cans so in order to determine what flavor something is you have to pick up and read the back of every tea can. It's a small inconvenience but something that stood out to me as other tea shops I've been to clearly display ingredients on the front. I ended up purchasing two tea bag samples of Ceylon and Coco Loco (a black tea with coconut and cacao nibs). The Ceylon tasted sub par and poor quality but the Coco Loco was delicious! This wasn't my favorite tea shop but I'd probably return to try out more teas. read more

This is the greatest tea shop! Lots of variety, and very friendly staff. Some of my favorites are Earl Gray Francais, Raspberry Lemonade, Summer Romance, Sandia Sangria and Santa Fe Sage, but I switch it up and try other teas regularly. They also have plenty of accessories for tea drinkers. A little out of the way now, but make the effort to visit if you like tea. I live in Missouri, but my SIL took me there on a visit to Santa Fe. I like this place and the tea I bought there so well I order it by mail. Definitely recommend! read more

Like a fancier, boutique, small business version of a David's tea. They have all varieties of tea and house blends. So far I've gotten the black tea blended with jasmine pearls and vanilla and their herbal blueberry pomegranate-and both have been delicious hot or cold. Definitely a pricier establishment but nice for a splurge. read more

As a tea lover and avid tea drinker, I visited this store twice before writing this. The first time, I browsed and received if nary an acknowledgment of my presence. The second time I returned it was with the intention to replenish my rooibos chai stash. I walked in and asked about the rooibos chai and how it could be packaged. The sales girl told me it came in 4 ounce containers either in a paper bag or a tin can for $2 more. I told her that was probably too much and I really wanted 2 ounces. Having purchased teas all over the world, I had never experienced a salesperson tell me that I could only buy four ounces of each blend. Nothing more and nothing less. Wow. What a shame that this store is so rigid in their offerings. Seems offering customers however many ounces they want of a particular tea would be a better business model ensuring customers get what they want and return for more. read more

I stumbled into ArtfulTea wandering around Santa Fe. As a tried and true tea lover I was truly impressed with their blends. I took 2 home; (1) oranges and apples, and (2) strawberry and mango. They both have bold, sweet flavors, and a beautiful dark pink color. I also bought one of their tea tumblers. Its perfect for loose leaf tea on the go, to quickly brew a 16 oz tea at home, or, if like me, you want to easily drink loose leaf tea at work. I don't live in New Mexico, so I'll have to order online but I'll be back (virtually) to sample more of their handcrafted teas. read more

It says a lot about the owner of this shop, that I didn't find what I was looking for and my reflection on the experience was outright terrific. I wanted a place to grab a cup of tea and lift a pinky and relax in Santa Fe. This place is a retail tea store, so no, even my Yelp check-in deal for a sample of tea didn't amount to a liquid of any kind, but a small package of what I can only refer to as high grade, chronic tea. The owner was terrific, she answered all of our questions, we bought a hefty supply of organic cooking grade matcha, and we left with a smile. The tea selection was pretty impressive, the venue was super clean and obviously we learned a lot about this obsession that seemingly impacts the lives of every human being on the planet, aside from Americans. What a pleasure it is to shop in a warm and inviting specialty store where the owner's passion for tea in all its forms is so evident. Although we are well-served by our Dallas tea suppliers, once we crossed the threshold of Artful Tea, we couldn't resist. The organic Lapsang Souchong we sampled last night was splendid, and we look forward to breaking in our new teapot as well. We were impressed as well by the logic of the layout and by the many varieties of teas on display. The expansive selection of small-sized tea samples offers a way for even an advanced tea drinker to expand her palate. Like Macarthur, we shall return whenever we return to Santa Fe. read more

I love loose lave tea leave. My problem is that the organic blends have natural flavor, which mean artificial flavoring that does it for me. If you have a great loose tea leaf then don't add artificial flavors or sell it like organic and pay a premium. read more

The tea here is wonderful, so wonderful that I joined their rewards program. But here is where wonderful turns to disappointing. Artful Tea rewards customers with 1 star for every $10 spent. That day I spent over $100 on tea and received far less than 10 stars. When I asked them why I didn't receive 10 stars they told me that the stars are awarded per transaction and not by dollar amount and the only way for me to receive all 10 stars would be to ring up items individually in $10 increments, which would have taken a very long time. I was very bewildered by this unfair system. The shop clerk told me that the program was designed to encourage customers to return on a regular monthly basis. This is fine but why penalize larger transactions? I would strongly recommend to the owner of the shop to reward high paying transactions as well as your regular transactions. It's a broken system that may hurt many of your loyal customers in the long run. read more

I have been drinking a select number of teas from Artful tea for years. Her Masala Chai and organic Genmaicha are my two favorites for winter and she has several fruit versions that are nice in the summer for ice tea. Just bought gift which was put in a ripped bag. They obviously knew the bag had a hole in it, as it was covered by a piece of scotch tape. So tacky. As someone who works with herbs, I can attest to the fact that the mark up is ridiculously high, even for their non-organic blends. After spending an absurd $50 on a tiny bit of tea I expect gift wrapping to include a bag without holes in it. I will definitely NOT be returning to this shop. Absolutely superb tea and a jaw-dropping selection (something like 70 varieties??!!). The staff -- especially the owner -- are extremely knowledgeable and always have a couple of varieties to taste. (I used to think I knew something about tea until I walked into ArtfulTea.) I also love that they've clearly put a great deal of thought and care into every aspect of the business including their logo design, their packaging, and the lovely ambiance of the shop. I am a pretty avid tea drinker and I have sampled teas and tea blends across the world. Being a local I had been pretty hard pressed to find a wide range of quality tea blends at fair prices. Outside of that - it's hard to find teas to introduce non tea drinkers to the beverage. Well - no longer do I have to fret about either problem because Artful Tea has AMAZINGLY delicious blends (like seriously y'all gotta try "Winter Forest" because it will knock your socks off with or without sugar) and a large selection of quality teas. Artful Tea also has a wonderful selection of rotating samples for the unsure shopper AND a varied selection of tea bags for those who don't want to commit just yet unless they LOVE the product. I haven't even gotten to the part that brought me to love this little store: fabulous customer service! The customer service wasn't too much, but was rather on point helping making selections or answering questions. Made a repeat customer out of me! Everyone should take a chance and take a look inside!
