When we visited on a Monday afternoon, the shop was not overly busy, but there was a steady stream of customers walking in and out to get drinks, sandwiches (or maybe burritos?), and gifts. I'm not sure it's the kind of place I'd sit and hang awhile or work in my laptop though. My iced matcha with oat milk was so refreshing and just sweet enough--I actually asked for a bit more sweetener and they graciously added some syrup without charging me extra--and this drink hit the spot on a hot summer day. I purchased some cute stickers and tiny cards from a local artist as well. They had a neat selection of gifts and coffee accessories. It's located just next door to Sage Bake House where we had lunch, and this was a nice treat afterward.

There is a nice, spacious patio outside on the side of the shop as well as a patio outside in back, so plenty of seating in addition to places to sit inside the cafe. My father-in-law also went here a few times while we were in town, and he said there was only one barista working each time; this was the case when we were there as well. They could definitely use another barista or two to handle the busy morning crowd. The interior of the cafe had a big roasting machine and some art and merch to look at while we waited. They also have a small pop-up location inside the Santa Fe airport, and though I did not order coffee there, I grabbed one of the green chile and cheese croissants they are known for, and it was delicious. This place definitely falls into the first category. This morning I went with the single origin Guatemala drip, and it was exactly what a solid cup of coffee should be. Smooth, rich, and balanced with a nice chocolate note that hangs around just long enough to make you take another sip. No bitterness. No burnt taste. Just a clean, well-roasted cup that says someone here actually cares about the beans. The shop itself has a personality, which I always appreciate. It's decorated with fishing lures, fish artwork, and sculptures scattered around the place. Naturally this leads to the obvious conclusion: the owner is either an avid fisherman... or coffee roasting is just the side hustle between trout expeditions. Either way, the theme works. The space feels relaxed, creative, and comfortable. The kind of place where you can sit with a cup and not feel rushed out the door. There is ample seating both inside and outside, had I not had my toddler with me I would have loved to sit out front but it is right by the road so a no go with a rambunctious little boy... They have an array of coffee and the service is absolutely phenomenal! Spoke with two baristas they were so informative and super welcoming! The coffee is really good as well. My husband got their regular drip coffee and he said it was very good, I got their iced brown sugar latte with 3 shots of espresso, so good and the right amount of caffeine. Definitely will be back, when we're back in Albuquerque.
