Kinokuniya is a great, authentic spot for those who love all things Japanese. From manga, anime,…read moreanime goodies, anime soundtracks, art books, CDs, novels, gundams, language books, and even cute stationary. If you like to collect manga and want to see a huge variety of selections, this is the place. I really like that they also have a selection of manga in Japanese! The art book aisle is awesome. It's hard to find art books in other bookstores, and even places like Barnes and Noble won't have a selection as varied as Kinokuniya. Despite the endless aisles of manga, I've surprisingly noticed that they're missing a few decently known manga. Unless I keep missing it, I've never seen The Case Study of Vanitas in their aisle, but they have the author's other work, Pandora Hearts, in there, for example. I would also say Kinokuniya is limited with their selection of anime goodies. I like that they're all very much authentic and different from your typical anime store selling pop figures and easy to find Bandai/Banpresto stuff, but their blind box selections are also becoming easy to find in other places because it's all the mainstream shows. Overall, if you're looking to expand your collection, this is the place to go.

I just completed my first-ever drawing classes with artist and art educator, Tina Cauller. One word: phenomenal. It is hard to find beginning drawing classes for adults in the Dallas area, and I couldn't find many reviews of Tina's classes before joining. Now, having completed the course, I wonder if the few prior reviewers had even turned up to class?! I loved her traditional teaching format, which incrementally built lessons on subjects that drawing students have studied for centuries. The excellent and thorough technical instruction, along with a relaxed and supportive art practice environment, gave me time for trial and error. The amount of growth in every student in the class from first to final class was outstanding. Tina has extensive experience and translates it into interesting, engaging, and supportive learning-to-draw lessons, making me believe I can draw anything I set out to. So satisfying and highly recommended. If you have been looking for a beginning drawing class, treat yourself, and don't wait!

The staff was so helpful and did their best to help you create the masterpiece you wanted! You can do tumblers, and different size canvases and they even have special classes where you can make some of the more complicated specific art such as a beach with rocks. I want to go back and make one of those. Definitely a cool activity to do with your kids, or even as an adult! Go check them out!

And that is what separates good teachers from bad teachers. Yet another hallmark of a good teacher is the ability to teach children how to think, not what to think. Good teachers are not thought dictators. And that is part of my personal philosophy with my grandchildren, to put myself in their shoes and to teach them how to think. That's why I love places like Lakeshore Learning where I find educationally valuable gifts that equip my grandchildren how to learn - and gifts that are fun too. Next to giving experiences, that's the best investment I can make in them. And I am an investor in important things, not crap. - "Success is a choice; you choose it and work it out!
