What a cute little gem in the Third Ward. The Home Market was recommended in the Design Sponge…read moreMilwaukee City Guide and so I just knew that I had to check it out. This place can be described as a very expensive upscale flea market. It also reminds me of Anthropologie's home products. If anything, it may be a little bit more pricey than Anthropologie though. Since it is an independent shop, things here are so special and there is something special about purchasing things that you have to go in-store for and cannot be purchased or viewed online. I loved the selection of textiles, the dishes, the apothecary items, and the unique trinkets. While I know that I could certainly not afford to outfit my house with things in here, there were plenty of things that would make thoughtful and unique gifts for friends, or occasional splurges for yourself (there were a few blankets that I LOVED). The style is just my cup of tea- a mixture of vintage and modern. Stop in, and I'm sure you will find at least a few things that you love!

The Home Market is a wonderful little store with the most amazing finds. There are so many things…read moreto look at that I keep going back. Whether it's an accent piece for the bedroom or bathroom, new linen napkins for the dining table or furniture - there's so much to see. The quality is incredible and the prices are fair. The best thing I found (at least on this visit) are the Albert & Dash rugs! They are wonderfully made in beautiful colors. I cannot get enough of them. I want to fo back for more. This store is a great place to shop for fine things.

Love my new couch from Bachman! High quality, super comfortable, and large enough to fit humans,…read moredogs, and the cat. Their showroom is so lovely, spacious, and inviting. They have a great selection of unique furniture and accessories. I was told their furniture is made in North Carolina, which is fantastic. After a failed online covid couch purchase, I spent months looking for a new one that met my specific criteria: 100% comfortable, pet friendly, modern, easy to clean, large enough for everyone to lounge on, and not made in China. I'm so grateful to have found Bachman! I ended up buying a floor model and received it within just a few days of purchase. Communication around delivery was perfect. Everyone at Bachman was very helpful and friendly. Ashley was wonderful, and a big help during each of my (three) visits. She also set me up with packaging to return the couch I'd bought online. And she has since sent me options for additional pet-friendly seating for a specific nook I'm looking to furnish. While their online inventory may not be as easy to navigate, I highly recommend visiting Bachman's showroom the next time you're in the market for quality furniture and excellent service. The location is convenient with plenty of parking, which is definitely a bonus. I'm looking forward to going back again soon myself. Thank you!

It's right on 9th near The National - FYI, 9th is a one way street so you may have to go up 10th for a block and loop back around. The name on the door is "BC Modern Furniture" and they're open Fri-Sun from 10-4. In addition, they run estate sales and host one day flea markets so check their website for upcoming events and sales. If you visit the store, know that it's mostly mid-century furniture with some same era collectables thrown in. It's not a huge place but it's very, very well curated. This is some of the nicest looking vintage furniture I've seen in town - lots of sideboards, dressers, end tables and some truly glorious sofas. Prices are commensurate with the quality - a big 2 piece sectional sofa with immaculate original upholstery was in the $600 range. That said, they're willing to negotiate so if you see something you love, have the conversation. The Mister grabbed a fun Maifest stein and a vintage German decor mag from 1964 for $10, so we left happy. They are adding things all the time so if you're trying to up the hipster cachet on your sweet Bay View bungalow definitely check them out.
