It's a pity that this Five Below business is unclaimed, because they are missing out on all 5 star…read morereviews (including mine!). I had never been into a Five Below and had no idea what they sold. I was picking up fancy refrigerated dog food next door at PetSmart and thought I'd wander in and see what they sold. Was it refrigerated items? The name Five Below made me wonder. As I popped in, a very friendly guy said hello and welcomed me, but not in an insincere way. (I'm always a bit sus about that) I started to realize this was an upgraded 99 Cent store with a $5 limit, and was curious to explore. I really responded well to the nice lighting, cool oversized signage and clean feel of the store. I saw items that are at better prices than other stores, but I wondered how people knew what to purchase here. I think you must just go in and endeavor to buy stuff you would normally buy elsewhere for more. Although I left without a purchase, I will go back when I want to stock up on items we regularly use. Also, the guy that works there literally had his teeth sparkle when he said thank you for visiting us - I'm easily swayed by genuine appreciation.

I have been going to the La Quinta Hobby Lobby since it opened. I decorate for weddings and…read morebirthday parties, and I am so thankful this store is close by. I am in this store at least three days a week. They always have a great supply, and their weekly sales really save me money! There is always an employee stocking nearby if I need to ask a question. Michaels not only has limited stock, but their prices are high, and they usually have only one employee at checkout while the rest is self-checkout. My favorite employee at the La Quinta Hobby Lobby is Lindsey. She is always upbeat and helpful. She knows the store inside and out, so I always look for her if I'm having trouble locating an item. So many times I have had an issue making something, and thankfully Lindsey was there to suggest an item to solve my problem. I have a Christian upbringing, and one of my biggest problems with some Christians is how they judge others by the way they look. Lindsey dresses differently and has a different style than most of the employees at Hobby Lobby, and it makes me so happy that the Christian management doesn't judge her by her appearance. She is a true asset to the store because of how well she treats customers and other employees.

I was immediately greeted by the very wonderful, specific smell that wafts through Hallmark stores and my senses took me back to childhood shopping excursions with my Mom to buy holiday cards at our local Hallmark. The store is chock full of cards and wrap, which makes it worth stopping here to get something unique. There are all kinds of decor and licensed products displayed in a weaving pattern which made the floor pattern interesting. I have continued to shop here for my wrap and cards since first stopping in last year, knowing that there will be a selection of cards for nieces and nephews that I just can't find anywhere else. On top of that, the ladies who work there are so cheerful and seem like they are having the time of their life. It is so wonderful to be around such good energy!

I am writing because I would like corporate to take notice of a very disappointing experience at…read morethis HomeGoods location. I tried to return or exchange a defective ice tray that cost $4.99. I had the receipt, and I simply wanted to exchange it. However, the manager, Steven/Stephen, told me he could not process the return because the item was purchased at the Palm Desert store. I find it unreasonable that HomeGoods would refuse an exchange for a defective item purchased at another HomeGoods location, especially when the customer has a receipt. I have been a long-term TJX/HomeGoods customer, and I have never had an experience like this before. I do not know whether this is a company policy or a store-level decision, but either way, it reflects poorly on the brand. A customer should not be turned away over a defective $4.99 item with proof of purchase. I strongly suggest that TJX review this policy and ensure store managers are trained to handle basic customer service issues in a reasonable and customer-focused way. (Time: 3:40pm 6/9/26)

What I appreciate is that it is always in good order and things are easy to find. Today I went in to find battery operated candles for a display and had plenty to choose from for $1.25 for a single flickering taper or a set of 3 tea lights. As I was shopping I could hear the cashier interacting with all of the customers with great enthusiasm, having something positive to remark about each person. I watched as one by one, people would leave with a huge smile on their face. When it was my turn to check out I got a look at his name tag and said "What's up, Tony?" which lit him up like a Christmas tree! He talked about how much he loved working there and I was so impressed with his positivity that he generously gave away to all that visited this store.
