Every time, I drive by here, I tell myself, I wanna walk over there. It looks so pretty and…read morepeaceful. One day, I became adventerous and hit the trails. Here's what I discovered. There's a limited amount of parking spaces. I encourage you to carpull, if you can. Water fountains are available for you and your dog. There's also an airpump station. It's really busy in the evening with families. There's a mixture of everything. Walkers, bikers and kids. The paths are pretty wide with uphill and downhill slopes. Depending on the route you take. It can lead you to a shopping and dinning experience. Theres two things I disliked about this area. Number one, there's lots of tiny gnats around that makes it uncomfortable. Number two, There was a horse poo on the side walk. I'm glad I got to venture out and enjoy the scenary. This area is nice for photography. I hope the next time I go the gnats and poo are gone.

This area starts off a nice, easy walk or hike along the Trinity Trails. The parking lot for it is…read moreimmediately before the Waterside development at Bryant Irvin and Arborlawn, with the lot actually being right off Bryant Irvin. I'm being so descriptive because google maps, waze, nor Siri herself was helpful in getting us here. You'd think as many times as I've been to the Whole Foods (at waterside development), I would have noticed it, but alas I did not. LOL! There's a decent sized parking lot here. If you are going to walk/bike/hike out far, you should download the free Trinity Trails app. It will help a lot with navigation and letting you know about the terrains of different parts of the trail. It was an absolutely gorgeous day when we were out. Surprisingly, this part of the trail was not packed. The few folks that were out were very friendly. I love it when "trail folk" acknowledge each other with friendly smiles and chitty chat. Almost everyone we came across had a cute dog on a leash. Folks out here were actually respecting leash laws. Presently, there is no shade along this part of the shade. That wasn't a problem this day because the weather is still cool, but I can definitely see it being an issue when our "beloved" Texas summer is in full swing. It's pretty cool that you can walk along this part of the trail and then head over to waterside for some food (there are some restaurants there besides the grocery store). See you on the trails!

I was super impressed with this park! There's a gate to the entrance, which is open as of right now…read more8-8pm(sunset). After the gate is closed if you need to be let out, you have to call the police. But there's so much to do here! Not just the swimming area! There's a hiking trail, playground and walking trails. Beautiful views and plenty of space to social distance yourself. The trails are available for no fee as far as I could tell, but the swimming area near WhoaZone is $5. They do not take cash, only debit/credit card. The swimming area has a playground and picnic areas. I think there's a spot to cast your kayaks off over there too, but I stayed near the beach and didn't explore anything else. I saw vehicles with kayaks going over on the other side. If you have water shoes, I'd say bring them and a beach umbrella as there's no shade. The sand isn't too uncomfortable to lie in, there's just cigarette butts here and there. But I definitely recommend visiting for the day or even camping if you're into it!

Someone recommended this to me as a "sandy beach". It is a beach, and there is some sand, but the…read moreshore is probably a 50/50 mix of packed dirt and sharp pebbles. OUCH! The rock bottom extends out a couple of yards into the water, where it turns to clay. For swimmers, the rockiness is less of an issue - get past the rocks and swim/float your heart out, but the rocks along the shore make it significantly less enjoyable for babies. Running along the shore and splashing in the shallow water is painful without water shoes. For a true SANDY BEACH, check out Twin Points Park at Eagle Mountain Lake or Little Elm on Lake Lewisville instead. Twin Points is nicer, if you're deciding between the two. Pros: it's a pretty spot, with nice views. Plenty of parking - $5 per car. CREDIT/DEBIT ONLY. There is a dock for jumping off (which we didn't notice until we were leaving, sadly!). Not very crowded on a Saturday in August. Pretty clean, other than the bathrooms. Alcohol permitted (or if not permitted, certainly not regulated). Days swimming at the lake are SO MUCH FUN! Aside from the rocky shore, the only big negative was how gross the bathrooms were. We were there pretty early, so clearly they aren't cleaned daily. Also, the whoa zone is SO EXPENSIVE!!!! It looks fun but I cannot wrap my head around the fact that people pay that much to be there. It's $22 a person for ONE HOUR! Mon-Thurs they also offer a $50 all day pass. For our family of 7, I consider that cost prohibitive. Overall, it was a fun day at the lake, but Meadowmere Park is just not the best DFW has to offer.

Aaaaamazing!!! This…read morepark checks every box. Walkable, bike friendly, and perfect for a solid run. The trail is paved and lined with mile markers, which I always appreciate. Each bridge has clear street signs and access points with stairs or exits, so you can hop on or off wherever you need. There are also location markers along the trail, (for emergency purposes )which is great for safety in such a large park. Playgrounds are scattered throughout, and there is even a basketball court tucked under a bridge with really cool graffiti that gives it some personality. The park is clean. Like noticeably clean. Restrooms are mostly portable, but many are enclosed in small structures so they blend in better and are not an eyesore. And yes, they were clean. You will find kayaking launch areas, fishing spots, picnic tables, and benches everywhere. There is plenty of space to spread out without feeling isolated. It is not overcrowded, but you are not alone either. The crowd felt easygoing, and cyclists were respectful. I felt completely safe the entire time. There are multiple paths to switch things up, plus a few shorter gravel routes if you want a change of pace. I even spotted e bike stations along the way. Honestly, this park sits right in the heart of Fort Worth and makes it feel like you do not even need a car in this part of DFW. One of the best runs I have had in a while.
