The single pickleball court is in excellent condition, practically brand new. The main feature of the park is a huge skate park area and I'm sorry that I don't really know the terms for the equipment but there is a decent amount of things to roll down, slide across and skate through. A picnic shelter with tables and a grill will definitely get some use. The entire park has a chain link fence around it to keep the little ones from wandering off and so you can see strangers approaching. Always a good thing. The park has a goodly number of trees for shade as it definitely tends to get hot in the summer in this part of Texas. [Review 16054 overall - 239 in Texas - 1559 of 2021.]

Marine Creek Lake is a 250-acre no wake lake (more tranquil waters) which provides a welcome, peaceful respite from hectic city life. The 6-mile trail adjacent to the lake offers walking and running opportunities. At the lake, boating/kayaking/canoeing, swimming and fishing--with catfish here and there and bass on the riprap--are some of the main activities people participated in. After researching various parks in and around the Fort Worth area for a recent visit, I decided on Marine Creek Lake. Although unconventional in the park area, I also think the Marine Creek Lake area has everything I enjoy re: parks like verdure, beautiful landscapes, lots of trees, cool people, places to relax and interesting activities. Personally, one of my favorite activities was just walking along the deck and looking out at the lake waters and everything in the background. I met, rather serendipitously, two cool people who were also visiting Marine Creek Lake. One guy was there mainly to fish and let me borrow his fishing pole but all I caught was some seaweed-like aquatic plants, which he said is more than what he caught. (Haha) In the beginning of each try, I could feel something substantial and heavy underwater, but no dice. Another person was there walking his Chihuahua-Corgi mix named Finny. Parking here was easy, as I recall. The Marine Creek Lake area wasn't crowded, so the adjacent parking lot had lots of spaces available on a Saturday morning. I am kind of glad its existence seems to be a well kept secret of sorts. It is definitely a hidden gem. [5/5], Highly recommended!

I think my only concern here is that there isn't a gate or fence around the parking lot so parents are going to need to pay extra special attention to the little ones. The "fixed" cornhole was pretty neat. I couldn't help myself and threw the bags. I actually got TWO in! [Review 16034 overall - 220 in Texas - 1539 of 2021.]

There's a neat little miniature train that has two depots in Forest Park- the ride is $4 for adults and a bit less for the kids. The track winds through several bridges and underneath overpasses for a 45-minute ride. There's one stop where you can stretch your legs, buy some popcorn or just stay put. It's a great ride for the kids (and others of all ages really). We spent some time visiting the park in mid-April and the weather was beautiful. Low 70 degree weather with a slight breeze, and the sun poking out of some clouds. The grounds were preparing for MayFest sometime later in April. Overall, this is just a great place with picnic areas, rolling grass areas, endless treelines, and several playground areas. There's ample parking but it can get a little ugly driving in or out of the area on certain times of the weekend, especially if there are events going on.
