My first time with this practice. During the exam with the optometrist, he said my prescription didnt change hardly at all, when I can't see with my current glasses. That didnt inspire much confidence that i had with this practice to start. I still ordered glasses in good faith, and paid my portion up front. I waited.... and waited. 2 months later - where are my glasses? I called them, they told me, next week. 4 more weeks pass by, where are my glasses????? I initiated the call - again - and this time my glasses were back ordered and won't be here for another month or maybe 2??? By that point, I've gone 3 months without my glasses. A whole 1/4 of a year. And they made no efforts in communicating the status of my glasses - no one called to tell me that the date kept getting pushed back for my glasses, and now I was going to gave to wait 5 months for my glasses???? And when were they going to tell me???? This was likely a manufacture error and not in their control - ​But I wish they would have communicated sooner or at least - at all, so that i could have made an informed decision or pick out a new pair of glasses much sooner. I do not feel like i was a patient treated with care. Very unprofessional, and with how the front office handled me, I have zero assurance that my prescription was taken accurately to begin with. Tried out this optical office out for my son. It turns out they do not take our insurance but did not learn this until arriving at the appointment. It took several weeks to get the appointment so we followed through with the visit. After years of wearing glasses (and told to wear them each day) was told he did not really need to wear glasses. I am new to the area and found this Optomitrist through yelp. They got me into the office within two weeks. The staff was very friendly. I like the updated equipment they used to check my eyes. The doctor seemed knowledgeable and friendly. The office was clean. I may have more to say once I get my glasses in. read more

I had my first visit with AG Optometry on November 23, 2021. I had a pleasant visit with the doctor and was told I would need to see a retinal specialist. I was told that the doctor would need to call the specialist in order for them to call me and schedule an appointment. Additionally I needed contacts so trials would need to be ordered. By December 6th I had neither heard from the retinal specialist or from the doctors office that my trials were in so I called the office. The woman on the phone assured me the retinal specialist had been called and my contact trials ordered. By the week of December 20th I still had not heard from the retinal specialist or the doctors office about my trials. I ended up calling the retinal specialist on my own and made an appointment. They told me they never heard from my doctor. That week I also called the doctors office to check in about both items. They told me the doctor had called the specialist (which according to the specialist's office was not true) and that they had ordered my contact trials a week and a half ago. As of today (January 7, 2022) I still have not heard from the doctor's office. I called this morning and the woman on the phone told me my trials were not yet in and that she placed the order on December 28th. I'm incredibly frustrated by the service so far and confused as to why the staff is lying. I understand things come up and are forgotten (especially around the holidays) but please don't lie to me. I hope that my contact trials really were ordered on December 28th and that I will be able to get them soon. I would have gone somewhere else by now but I've already paid for this doctor and my insurance won't cover a second eye exam in the same year. read more

I don't usually write reviews, positive or negative, but my experience at AG Optometry was nothing short of phenomenal at every step of the way. I have been to AG Optometry once, about 2 years ago, and got a pair of distance glasses. I went back this year to get a new prescription and frames. I scheduled an appointment, the earliest one available was three weeks out. I mentioned I was leaving on a trip two weeks after that, and would that be enough time to get the new glasses, and they said it would be close but they'd put me on the cancellation list, so when someone cancelled they would call me to see if I could make it. While we were talking that very thing happened, so they got me in the next day! During my time there, I asked many questions about lens coatings, frame temple sizes, cleaning methods, etc. and they took the time to answer everything with great detail, helped look for frames, picking out many selections that were all great, going the extra mile to voluntarily call their laboratory and the eye Dr. regarding some of my questions, gave my old glasses a good cleaning, gave me a cleaning towel without me asking, provided the paperwork for my Health Spending Account right away, and throughout it all were courteous, professional, enthusiastic, helpful and informative. I highly recommend AG Optometry for your eye exams, lenses, frames, etc. They are truly amazing!!! read more

Dr Weitkamp and his staff are amazing! I scheduled 4 appts all back to back (myself and my 3 kids), which most offices wont do. The receptionist was friendly and very helpful. Dr Weitkamp was friendly as well. He was very knowledgeable, patient, and thorough. I like that he took the time to explain everything without feeling rushed. Even gave me advice on my insurance! What I really loved, was how he was with my kids(10,8,5)! He talked to THEM (not just me) and made them feel comfortable. Explained everything he was going to do before he did it. He made it fun! He let them all take a turn looking into each others eyes and explaining to them what they were seeing. I left the office with 3 happy kids, excited about what they learned! read more

My youngest daughter (5) needed glasses and I wanted her to have an experience out side of Costco optical- but I should of took her there. This place is nice, friendly and clean. But really no difference. The eye doctor was nice and patient but the connection wasn't there, I felt like we were being pushed through, I was not impressed. But overall it was a general experience, as I have had some pretty Awesome eye doctors in the 27 years I have warn glasses. read more

New to the area and so glad to have found this place...not to mention its close to home. I took a day off from work and initially didn't have an appointment as it wasn't on my agenda to have my eyes checked but figured better now than later. I called and they were able to accommodate me last minute. Dr. Weitkamp was very personable and did not rush thru my exam. As a new patient it was very comforting to know that he truly cares about his patients. Based on my exam I was sent home with sample contacts to try before I get my final prescription to make sure I get the right brand. When I think of samples I think of 1 or 2 pairs...but Dr. Weitkamp sent me home with 3 different brands and ample samples to try! In previous experiences with other optometrists I'm lucky if they are even willing to find the right ones for me (as my eyes are very sensitive to contacts) and they are usually quick to do my exam and send me on my way. I can't say enough nice things about this place and am just happy to have found it. If you're looking for a family owned optometrist or simply need an eye exam...skip the costco's the Sears, targets etc. and call this office...I promise you won't be sorry! Oh...and one of the brands I'm trying now is definitely the one for me...I'm seeing everything in HD and can't even feel I have anything on my eyes! read more

I had always gone to Costco, malls, or Walmart for my eye exams and glasses and this year I decided to try a local optometrist office. I originally had an appointment close by but after my boss raved about how great Doctor Weitkamp was, I cancelled and made an appointment here. I had ALWAYS been told in the past that my eye prescription wouldn't fit well with contacts (that they'd literally fall out and not hold in place every time I blinked), had this happen three different times in 6 years. Too my surprise I was told I was a great candidate yesterday! Finally an eye doctor who wanted to help instead of feeding me lies so I'd spend $400 on frames I didn't want. I am so very pleased with this office I couldn't imagine going anywhere else now. I recommend anyone who isn't 100% satisfied with their current optometrist to switch. They got me in right away, the Dr. was caring and gentle. He fixed my daughter right up. He advised that he is always available day or night. Dr. Weinkamp is great. I appreciate how thorough he is and the way he explains everything he is doing. I have taken my 4 kids 16, 11, 9, 3 to him. He is able to talk to them in a way they understand while being patient, even with a wiggly 3 year old. He also has updated equipment. I walked out feeling very educated.
