Most of the doctors are good, some condescending at times. The major issue is the unfriendly, unhelpful office staff, cannot ever get a response from voicemail, or messaging, even when they tell me they will call me back -they don't. Not a lot of options available here in Los Osos. read more

Time for some new eyes, my pug found my glasses on my night stand and let's just say enjoyed the new chew toy. I had my previous pair as a back-up For me like going to a dentist it's not a fun thing just a gotta get done thing. So...checking Yelp I found this office in Los Osos actually next door to our vet office just off LOVR. Called Wednesday I had an early appointment on Friday, also open till noon on Saturday too. The usual pre lim questions for history and an exam by Dr. Wells, Bada bing done in an hour. Friendly-check, felt I could trust them-check, got a new pair coming in five days-check. Lost a due to limited selection, specifically limited to available frames covered by my ($150) insurance. My regular optometrist was unable to do a quick check of my left eye, which had been bothering me significantly, for three weeks! This office is just down the street from me, so I called and explained the situation. After some rearranging, they managed to get me in the next day! Dr. Hile is outstanding. He did a thorough evaluation, and explained what was happening in my eye. He took all the time necessary for me, and I didn't feel at all rushed, even being a last minute accommodation. Great manner. I will not go anywhere else. Am returning for a full eye exam, and any glasses I might need. This practice is what good medical care is supposed to look like. Highly recommend. read more

Dr Jio has been my excellent optometrist for many years but on a recent Saturday night I had an eye emergency. My eye hurt like crazy. Very good eye exam and communication around the health of my eyes. But their crafting glasses is the worst I've experienced in my lifetime. We're talking 15-20 pairs I've owned. After owning for a month, I've discovered very poor lens coatings, very poor frame construction, very little responsibility taken for selling interior products. I'd recommend them only for the exam and take the prescription to a higher quality frame and lens shop. read more

In addition, the staff in Los Osos is very kind and attentive with scheduling appointments. The business's most captivated asset is the optician area with two of the area's most attentive technical practitioners who with time allowing will go far and beyond to find glasses that will fit both your physical and fashion sense. The optometrist was great. He spent plenty of time testing my vision to accurately update my prescription and answered all the questions I had. Also, the ladies working in the frame shop were very friendly. They have a really good selection of designer frames. This was by far the most thorough eye exam I have ever had! The staff were super friendly even though I ended up being 2 hours early! The eye doctor was great, very helful on making sure everything was just right! When I called to schedule my appt, they were courtious and patient with me. I was sent here via CHC Cambria. All in all, would deffinatly go back! I like that they are inexpensive for an eye exam for contacts (which of course insurance wont cover lol). I have found my new eye doctor! read more

Dr. Wells is amazing! He is young, calm, professional, and genuinely excited about eye health! He walked me through step by step what he was doing, and what he was looking for in each exam. He was able to explain in plain English what was going on with my eyes, and what we were looking at in the eye scan. He is also approachable, and even though I had what may have been simple questions, he took the time to answer and explain everything I asked! The staff. put large amounts of drops in my eyes and sent me along my way without protection for my eyes on a sunny day. A few months later I developed a issue with my eyes that can't be cured. They are irritated and unattractive most days. The practice claims it is unrelated but I disagree. I think the over exposure to sun when my eyes were dilated damaged my eyes caused this condition. read more

Dr Major wins my vote each time I take my kids there. His engagement with my teenage twins is as impressive as it is with my special needs son. I can't say enough about the bedside manners of the doctors in this office. Dr Major officially won me over when he told my son that he sees kids all the time and it s finally nice to see someone "normal" which may sound silly.
