I am a very honest reviewer and honestly honestly, I'm a very difficult reviewer. I have done so many reviews of various places, and I've usually been disappointed with a service in this country and the level of food for example . Let me do a review of this place now and I hope you listen as I am not sponsored in any way shape or form for this review . I need difficult time finding other places to watch my dog. Too many of the dog kennels had people running it. They were running, ragged, unprofessional, and unwilling to work with me. Then I came upon this place . I visited the place looked at the reviews, and actually had a chance to talk to a customer that had used them in the past.. The customer had glowing reviews of this place . I was still kind of hesitant, but we decided to board our precious dog at this place. She is my service dog as well, but I could not take her with me on this long journey that I went on. I had changes and requests beyond normal. I thought they would become angry in response and it was my fault. I was pleasantly surprised with how quick and direct the communication was. They were soooo accommodating and it eased my mind. They helped and were so kind in how they responded. Our dog also eats a raw diet, which is about twice the amount of food as normal due to digestion because it's raw she needs to eat more. We do this diet, not just because of health reasons, but because it keeps her teeth perfectly white and clean. they were able to accommodate her special diet. I think they were not used to doing before because most people feed their dog kibble. Even when we picked her up, everybody was so nice to us and how they spoke with us and treated her very kindly as well as us. We will definitely be using them again. I can't say that about the other places we've used in the past of all. All those other places actually treated us like they didn't need us. They were unwilling to accommodate in any way shape or form, and we're demanding. Please consider using this place above the others and yes, we even visited the place down the street and we're unwilling to deal with that place with how they treated us. This place is not very expensive, but even if they raise their prices some we would still use them. Thank you! read more

We have taken our dogs to Arrowpoint Dog Kennel for a couple of years now. They're located in Woodland CA Although we live in Sacramento we prefer to have them watch our dogs for when we're out of town. They attend to our families needs and offer walks and grooming services The staff are very polite and respond to your calls for updates about your dog. I'm grateful and thankful to them for watching our fury family members. read more

This place has always did a decent job taking care of my two dogs, one of them for close to 10 years. While I know that the kennel isn't an ideal place for your pet, if necessary, I know I can count on the Arrowpoint to be there for me and my dogs. Pricing is reasonable and I never had any major issues or miscommunication with the folks at the kennel. I do recommend it to my friends. Just make sure it that your pet is current on its vaccinations. read more

I highly recommend this Kennel. Deena and her staff are spiritually committed in making sure that your love one is loved and well taken care of. Deena's kennel is always cleaned and organized. I sincerely appreciate how she went over and beyond in purchasing an extra large air conditioner so that your love one spends these HOT days/nights living comfortable and I would like to mention that her rates are VERY generous considering all that she and her staff do in order in making sure that our love one is safe. Brought my 17 year old cat here for a couple days (Saturday/Sunday night, picked up on Monday morning) and she was healthy and happy when I got her. I also asked for the bathing service and she seemed clean. The cages in the cat kennel were small, but that's expected (the litter and the food/water is on one side and there's a little carpet for your cat to rest on, I brought her own bedding). I've posted a picture. Overall I think the value was really good and the prices on the website are accurate as of May 2015. The staff is enthusiastic, friendly, and professional. As someone born and raised in Davis, I grew up using Arrowpoint for all our family dogs. They used to have a great time playing in the grassy area with the old livestock and other dogs. I got a new dog about a year ago and have taken him there three times since then when we went on trips. I was saddened to learn that they no longer let the dogs play outside due to the risk of foxtails, but I understood. the first time we took my dog there, I was impressed and happy with the service. The second time we took our "boy" there we paid for two walks a day, but when we picked him up, he had only been walked twice instead of the six times he should have been walked. i gave Arrowpoint the benefit of the doubt and we took him back. Big mistake! I just picked him up this morning after an eleven day trip out of the country. We bring our own food and also paid (again) for two walks a day. When we picked him up the bill did not reflect the additional fee for the extra walks, so we inquired. HE HAD NOT BEEN WALKED EVEN ONCE FOR OVER 11 DAYS!!!!! Furthermore, we had brought enough food for 13 days, but there was almost half the food leftover and given back to us. He lost 7 lbs in 12 days. All of this was especially distressing as I has called to reconfirm his food portions and number of walks per day two days after dropping him off (as they totally messed up the last time). Needless to say, I will never take another pet to Arrowpoint Kennels, where you can expect abuse of your animal by a friendly, but clearly incompetent staff. I really wish there was more I could do to make sure that Arrowpoint doesn't do this to any other dogs. It happened twice to me (two times in a row) and therefore must be happening to other dogs. It is cheap, but my dog's well being is not worth a few bucks off. ARROWPOINT KENNELS IS THE WORST! DON'T TAKE YOUR PET THERE!!! read more

SERVICE (5/5): The people who work here are super nice and just delightful. They're very nice and accommodating. HOURS: It's important to note the hours when you pick up your pooch and when you call to check on your pup. If you leave a message, they say they'll get back to you promptly, but I chose to call repeatedly during their open hours to check on our puppy. If you call them, they'll give you a quick update (e.g., your dog is well-behaved, likes going on walks, etc.) and note that "no report" is a good report. KENNEL: The kennel is a temporary home to dogs (in one area) and cats (in another area). From the office, you can go straight into the dog area and you'll be greeted by a ton of dogs barking, whining and crying. Sometimes the employees who work at Arrowpoint have to wear thick headphones to cancel out the noise from the dogs. In any event, the kennel consists of one long, sterile hallway filled with concrete kennel rooms (maybe 30 or 40 kennels?) with a fence as the gate/door. Apologies for the lack of a better term, but the kennels were very prison-like. Each kennel was a small space (but could fit two medium-sized dogs) and had a small doggy door that leads to the outside, which is another small enclosure fenced off from the rest of the dogs. Also, the kennel area is a long, concrete enclosure that smelled really sanitary. I feel like the smell must burn the noses of dogs because it's pretty strong, but it's necessary because Arrowpoint tries to keep its kennels clean and sanitary. The sides of the floor are bordered by a drainage area so that any water (or accidents) can run down the floor without getting onto the walkway. Arrowpoint writes the name of your dog on a small whiteboard outside each kennel and leaves any goodies with the dog or attached to or on top of the wire gate. THINGS TO BRING FOR YOUR DOG: - Food That's it! I would not recommend bringing a mat or toys because those items will SMELL. They'll smell dirty and like they were soaked in a strong cleaning agent. Just don't bring it. There's no good way to "cozy" up this environment. It's a no frills kennel-- your pooch is just going to have to make the best of it. PRICING: Very reasonable. I think it's $21 for dogs under 50 lbs and $22 for dogs over 50 lbs. DOGGY: When we got our pup, he was... FRANTIC to leave. haha. He was like... wailing... but maybe because he missed us so much? I think he was desperate to get out of the cage/kennel, and as soon as he was back in the car, he was exhausted and sooo relieved to be out of the kennel and back home. To be fair, I think this was mainly because he was away from us rather than the actual treatment he experienced at Arrowpoint. Haha. In any case, our pup looked healthy, relieved to be out of Arrowpoint, smelled a little like the cleaning agent used to sanitize the kennel, and well-fed. read more

We've been bringing our dogs to Arrowpoint for the past 15 years. The best recommendation I can give them is that our dogs are always happy to go inside - no dragging feet or drooping ears. And when they come out, I can bring them home and not feel like I have to get them right into the bath - they smell fine. We originally chose Arrowpoint because it was one of the few kennels in the area that offered air conditioning, which we felt was a must in an area that can be very hot in the summer. But we've continued to come because our dogs get great care, the kennels are clean, the personnel are friendly. I do agree that it would be nice if they were open for bit on Sunday afternoon, since that's when everyone comes back from vacation or long weekends. But I appreciate that they are now taking credit cards. read more

Our puppy Atlas has had such great experiences here! He loves all of the staff here, loves his walks and being groomed! The environment is very clean, they feed them daily- even medications if needed and clean their living quarters daily, they'll give walks and baths if requested, very low prices to! Definitely recommend this place and rate it as 5 stars. The staff is extremely friendly and genuinely cares for your pets. I've brought my dogs to Arrowpoint for fifteen years. My current dog is seventeen and the staff take really excellent care of my senior citizen! She's always clean and happy when I pick her up. She also is always glad to see the staff members. Over the years they've always told me about how the dog(s) did while they were there. I appreciate the reports. We often board go out of town and just started using Arrowpoint Kennels on the recommendation of a friend! They were very friendly and accommodating to our puppy and older dog! Both dogs are very excited every time we pull up to the kennel which is a great sign that they are happy there and treated very well during their stay. On the recommendation of a friend, I left my two elderly dogs w Arrowpoint Kennels in an emergency situation. They were awesome. Thus I took them back several times in the last year. What stands out for me is that my dogs come back happy and healthy each time. Their response to being boarded is key. They are happy. Pre- Arrowpoint, I had been unable to travel for seven years. This due to two shi shi doggie spa experiences. One of the 'spas' blamed my dog for escaping. One was returned with infected puncture wounds, emaciated and depressed. The other aced him without looking at his file and nearly killed him. While things may have looked glam from the human perspective at the other so called 'spas', my dogs had been abused. I TRUST my dogs' well-being to Arrowpoint whole-heartedly. The owner runs a tight ship as does her staff. Arrowpoint speaks very good dog and ministers not only to their guests physical well being, but their mind and Spirit as well. And most importantly, my dogs come back reflecting balance. Instead of being tolerated as tenants, they come back happy & LOVED. read more
