Dr Firouzi is fabulous and provides excellent care. He listens thoughtfully and takes into account the things I know about my body and my thoughts on what may be off whenever I have an issue or infection. I can tell he truly cares and does his best.
Similar to other reviews, I have had nothing but problems with the way they run their practice. Every time I have an appointment, I find myself fuming with anger at the experience, but continue to put up with it because the doctor is great.
I am a very understanding person. I don't send my food back at restaurants, I hold service workers, healthcare professionals, and administrative staff in very high regard. I can completely understand when someone is not to blame in a situation. It has taken me A LOT to feel the need to compose this review. I really am not sure who is to blame here, but whoever is in charge needs a serious reality check about the type of business they are running.
- Every time you have an appointment, you have to fill out the SAME three documents by hand about your FULL medical history, emergency contact, and insurance information (even if you have the same exact insurance.) This is extremely archaic, a waste of time, and quite frankly I think they continue to do it because of how ridiculously long the wait time is. If the information must be updated EVERY time, at least let me do it electronically before the appointment or even while I'm there. I do not understand why full medical history is needed every time - I have told you about my previous surgeries/conditions over 15 times at this point, nothing has changed. Put it in your system!!
- I have never had an on time appointment. Not once. You will wait MINIMUM thirty minutes past your appointment time. I am aware of the fact that this is an OBGYN office - that is no excuse. SPREAD OUT YOUR APPOINTMENTS OR HIRE MORE PROVIDERS. I am a very patient person and understand that not every appointment will be on time. It is a different story when the norm is to be severely late. People who work have to take time off for their appointments and it is extremely inconsiderate.
- The MA will ask me very simple questions about my medical history - such as when my last pap was. Similar to their paperwork, their charting is simply archaic. This past visit I was asked if this was my first visit - I have been going there for 7 years. This information should be front and center when you are taken back to the room for the appointment. The efficiency is not there, and we are wasting time reviewing things that should be looked over before walking into the room.
- I have had to get into a literal argument with a staff member over prescribing the correct medication. Story time: I was tested for both BV & yeast infection. We were leaning towards yeast infection, so Dr called in a prescription for yeast infection ahead of time (love that he does this, it is very helpful.) Unfortunately, this time it ended up being BV, meaning another medication was needed. I had to call the office three separate times to get ahold of someone. They then proceeded to argue with me telling me that my prescription had already been filled, and would NOT hear me no matter how many times I had to tell them it was not the right prescription. I finally told them to speak with the doctor and call me back. They did, and finally the correct prescription was filled. No apologies for the rude or dismissive behavior towards me either.
- Most recent exam, the same thing happened as above, but in reverse. Thought I had BV, called in BV prescription, ended up being a yeast infection. My appointment was a week ago and I still have not heard from anyone at the office. I'm sitting here with an infection for over a week. Luckily I had the yeast infection medication from the last time this happened that I will now take since I have not heard back from when I called them.
I can imagine that it would be mentally taxing to work at an establishment with such inefficient processes and practices. I'm sure people are CONSTANTLY as frustrated as I am, and they take it out on the admin staff. That is why I am not even surprised that the front desk staff seems miserable, I can't blame them. I know it is not their fault, so I can't even be upset at their rudeness towards me either.
I hope you can tell I am trying to come from a fair and grounded place. This place needs a SERIOUS OVERHAUL and if you can't tell, they will no longer be getting my business.
Save yourself the grief and stress sweat at every appointment - find somewhere else. I truly hope the doctors find a better place to work - I can't stress enough that it is not their fault! read more
