OK, I'll admit it. I don't like Niagara Region wines. Everything is just so sweet and fruity, one wonderful exception is Arrowhead. If you actually like wines give this place a try. It has a great selection of wines on the drier side. You will also have the bonus of being greeted my a friendly dog! Who can say no to that?! read more

Came here on a wine tour last weekend. Customer service and atmosphere - 5 stars The actual wine - 3 stars Take this review with a large grain of salt. I have a horrible wine pallet. I usually go up and just say "give me something sweet". The customer service was great though! I learned a ton about ice wines. The little tasting lodge was so quaint too! If you like dry red wine I would highly recommend Arrowhead springs. Another pit stop on the way back from cherry picking and boy was I glad I did stop in. These guys are producing some of the better wines in the Niagara region that I have had on this side of the border. Hitting up the styles of the major French wine producers, you can find a wine of similar taste to a fine Burgundy, or hefty Bordeaux, or an spicy earthy Rhone style all in one place. I didn't catch the name of the guy pouring for me but he made the experience all the more pleasurable. He had some great recommendations on what to taste based on what I normally like in a wine. His knowledge of the wine's production and taste descriptors was impeccable as well. He easily intermingled our conversation with normal small talk, while dropping some great wine knowledge. I left with a couple bottles of chardonnay as they were a BOGO deal that day. Also took home some Meritage and Pinot Noir. I can say I'll be back for sure next time I am in the area. read more

This place is adorable from the get-go. You drive a bit down a gravel road, past some grape vines, a garden and a chicken coop. When we pulled up, we were greeted by a friendly dog with a frisbee. The winery itself is small but very clean. The views from inside the winery are gorgeous. The wine itself isn't bad. They have a lot of reds, which is somewhat unusual for the area. Their meritage is pretty good. I actually gravitate towards whites, and they don't disappoint with there either. I enjoyed their reserve Reisling and their white blend. read more

This vineyard had some of the best dry red wines I have ever had. It is a cute tasting room and about to open up a larger tasting room. The tastes are 4 for $5. The Vintner is very knowledgeable about wine, she really cares about her product and is pleasure to speak with. The grounds are very beautiful. Have always been a fan of Arrowhead Spring wines but I haven't visited in a while...all I can say is wow. The new [to me] tasting room is huge and yet cozy. There is the sloping yard with adirondack chairs to look out over the vineyards. And let's not forget the wines by the glass, wine flights and nice selection of food. We stopped here on our weekend trip to Niagara Falls. The wines were very enjoyable and a very inviting staff. The winemaker was present and she extended the time at winery so we were able to spend some time enjoying the wine. Nice selection of beers as well from the NY area. Don't often give negative reviews because I try to give the establishment/ staff benefit of the doubt. I was extremely disappointed in the treatment our group received at this winery. I was the host of a bachelorette wine tour. Knowing we'd have a bus full of girls & its a Saturday I contacted the winery via email over a month in advance to ensure we'd be welcome. Walking we were greeted by an annoyed woman who did not believe me that I had made a reservation. They made it clear we were not welcome. Treated our group like children & nuisance. All of us were well behaved as per emails exchanged in advance. Never again will this winery be included on a wine tour nor would I suggest going there is you're looking for a good time. The people were rude, unwelcoming & condescending. read more

Best dry wine selection on the Niagara Trail. Atmosphere is nothing exciting, but worth a stop for the wine selection.

We were very pleased by our tour of the winery. Robin, the owner, gave us the tour and was very knowledgeable about the entire wine process, and was able to explain it to us in a manner we could understand. We were particularly interested in the ice wine, and she explained the whole process to us. The wine tasting was great along with the bread and cheese, and the tasting room was very comfortable. We went there right after Christmas and it was empty besides one other small group. The gentleman with glasses seemed annoyed that we arrived so I asked if they were about to close for the day and he said no. So we proceeded to inquire about their menu and asked if we could pay a flat fee and do our own tasting based on our preferences because the options that they had were not what we were looking to drink that day. He said that we couldn't do that. So then we decided that since there were 3 of us, and there were 3 varietals we wanted to try, that we would order those three glasses and share amongst us (so we requested additional glasses because we didn't want to share, covid of course). Essentially we made our own tasting for cheaper than what we offered. Seems odd that they wouldn't want more money considering businesses are hurting. As we waited for our wine, another group came in and again, the gentleman groaned as if he was annoyed. I was also very interested in purchasing a bottle of wine, but his attitude just turned me off. Id heard they were rather wine-snobbish here, & yes they seemed so when I visited before last Christmas, but it was a busy little shop -good sign. Parking was a challenge and not good for the handicapped, and the staff seemed detached -but maybe they were tired, was almost closed when we stopped by - my mom, sis & grandmother. We enjoyed most of our samples. Maybe arrogance and pride about a quality product goes hand-in-hand though-was good wine. Bit pricey in our area but you get what you pay for, too. Wine was OK. I'm more into the sweet wine and they had more of a selection of dry wines. Depends on your taste, otherwise a nice place!

From the moment our group walked in the staff was looking for a reason for us to leave. Before going to the winery we checked their website and saw that it was open until 6 p.m. When we walked in it was around 5:30 p.m., we asked if they were still open and they said they were only open if we weren't drunk. One of the staff already had her jacket on and looked like she was ready to be out the door. They were not friendly and we felt that they were more interested on leaving than doing their job. read more
