Police came in several times when the owner returned. It was apparent after seeing him with Mike's hard drink in hand in the morning, that's the problem. This guy drives the tractor then and smashes a bunch of things including a picnic bench. I was scared he was going to hit my RV when he drove it. Then he starts trying to fix the road himself (it was fine when he came back). He starts dumping dirt all over it. Pete fixes it again after that. Oh yeah the dog park, they didn't put in a swing gate so the dog park is way overgrown and they can't get a mower in. Who wants to take their dog into a tick park? Then comes Friday and we see him go outside in the morning during the daylight and take a poop outside in public (bathrooms are across the street from him). Fast forward to when we are trying to leave and he's pouring mud all over the roads. Thankfully he didn't cover the one side and we were able to get out. The campground owner needs rehab, 100%. I don't feel he's a bad guy, just stuck in a drunken stupor. This is a quiet, no-frills campground. We never had any issues with the water electric or any hook ups. We definitely did not drink the water there as we never drink campground water anyway. Sites are pretty level. It rained heavy a few times and our site stayed pretty dry. As long as the owner is not present, things are ran and look great.

Rates are competitive. The grounds and facilities are meticulously maintained. Shower rooms are very clean. We leave our travel trailer here and come several times a month for a few days. That is one way to cope with the fuel crunch and not have your RV/TT sit in your driveway unused. I would recommend Misty Mountains without reservation.

We are camping in our RV. My only real issue is the ridiculous two adult pool rule if you are with kids. We spent all day at the rodeo. We came back ready to swim after being in the sun all day. Of course my toddler fell asleep so I stayed with him at the campsite and my husband took our other two kids to the pool. They were able to swim for 15 mins before the other people who were at the pool took off. So it was just my husband and kids left. The lady working in the office came out and told them they had to get out because "there has to be two adults and one has to stay on deck". Like, what?!? Seriously? That's the stupidest rule I've ever heard. So he gets my very disappointed kids out of the pool and they are just hanging out pool side hoping for basically a stranger to come swim so they can swim. They waited nearly an hour before they got defeated and came back to the camper. Stupid rule. I've never seen any campground ever have that rule. If you are that worried about a solo parent taking care of their kids, hire a life guard. Or make that pool rule known prior to booking. My kids had life jackets on and my husband is CPR certified. We more than likely not come here again because of this rule. Lame lame LAME.

Bottom line... IT WAS AWESOME. Elaboration time... We got one of the newer, fully equipped cabins, which came with A/C, running water and flaunted a private full bathroom. The cabin sleeps 6 (we put more people in there but, shhhh!), and was more than accommodating for say, hypothetically speaking, 6 adults and 6 kids with some blow up mattress support (the cabin limit set by the campground is 6). The cabin rate was $200 a day. The cabins have a private room with one queen bed (I think... I sleep on a king bed normally because I'm an American), a loft room with a double (Again, American, and I really have no idea, as I typically have enough room in my giant bed at home to lounge, eat a smorgasbord, practice calligraphy and also sleep), and a set of bunk beds in the common area. The one bad mark I'll award --and this is a mighty stretch-- is that the playground area, which wasn't great to begin with, was conveniently closed due to COVID, but was in shambles anyways. The playground should be upgraded ASAP. Having once lived in the area, I knew that this campground was relatively new. One never knows what…read moreto expect at a new campground, new store, new restaurant, etc. I was extremely, and pleasantly, surprised at what I found. The owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful in all aspects of my stay. I was personally directed to my campsite, which was perfectly level, no shims, no boards, no jacks were needed. The only leveling required was front to rear and that was easily accomplished with the hitch jack. The grounds were clean and well manicured, and quiet hours were enforced. There are a number of pleasant walking paths, and if you fish, be sure to bring your equipment. There were multiple ponds containing all matter of species. Bass, trout, sunfish, perch, and catfish just to name a few. I will definitely be returning to this campground on my next visit to the Olean area.

Not bad, not spectacular. The folks who do come here adore it and many have standing spots…read moreyearround with built out sections like porches or add-ons extending off their trailers. One might call it the poor man's lakehouse. The majority of the campground area is surrounded by trees so the sites are more dirt and rocks than grassy (bring an air mattress!). It's also along a creek so your site may not be too far from a lovely rolling stream -- a great spot to set up for the day with your beach chairs and a ice cold brew. I highly recommend a walk up the gorge. Bring water shoes or sandals with straps because you do end up in the water and your sneakers would end up soaked for the whole stay. The falls are beautiful and a great spot to cool off in the water. There's a rope that's been tied up to a few trees so you can scale the gorge up to the top of the falls. You can have day visitors - cost is $5 per vehicle. The sites overall are a little bit pricier compared to State Park sites (nearly double the price) likely because it's a private campground. There's a store at the entrance of the site where you can grab necessary amenities like papertowels, lighter fluid, garbage bags, etc. I probably won't be back for my own personal camping expeditions, but will join our crew again since this is where they've been going for years.

The cabin we stayed in was comfy for our family of 5 and included a full bathroom with shower. It is still a camping experience so while you have a sink and coffee maker, there is no indoor grill or microwave. Everything was clean. We utilized the outdoor grill and fire pit nightly. Quiet hours were from 10pm-8am I appreciated all of the space in the cabin and strong AC. My only complaint is our mattress was a little hard so it wasn't the best sleep I've had, but overall these are above average accommodations for a camp ground. We enjoyed the accessibility of the site. You could easily walk to all of the amenities. If you are seeking amenities and things to do HTR will have you covered. We enjoyed the pool, mini golf, laser tag, kayak rentals, craft making hours, pedal bikes, and trails during our 4 night stay. All of these activities were included! Our kids had a blast and had something to do all day. The staff were very kind and really made us feel welcome. We loved the location as it was very close to Niagara Falls and restaurants in the surrounding area when we didn't want to cook on the camp grill. Overall, very happy with our visit and would highly recommend if you are looking for a camping experience without the work.

Note-the tent sites didn't offer a ton of privacy, it was kind of open. It was very close to two bathrooms. It was very quiet. We were so impressed upon arrival. Everything was well marked and clean. The general store has a little bit of everything. The staff was helpful and friendly. They offered a lot of family friendly activities. We were there during their harvest festival weekend. They offered hay rides and cider and donuts by their bon fire the first night we were there. Almost all of their activities are included. They charge a fee for their zip lines. They offer free pedal bike usage alongwith boat usage. It is conveniently located to Niagara Falls. They offer late check-in and even check in for folks who don't have a reservation, if they have availability Saturday morning the store opened at 9 AM a little late for us since we were on the road by 845. We were hoping to buy acup of coffee (they have $2 K-cups).
