Our second stay at this Wingate location this weekend was a huge success. Let's talk COVID first:…read morethey are doing a great job with regulations, cleaning, and adhering to policies set forth by NYS. Hand sani at every turn and I didn't see a single unmasked person throughout my stay. I should also note that the hotel was only at a third capacity, so we really didn't see much of anyone other than the staff throughout our one night stay. We felt safe and at home throughout, and this hotel put cleanline at top priority even before the pandemic. Onto more fun stuff! The staff here is top notch. So friendly and helpful and a pleasure to interact with. We brought our dog, Freddy Sue, this time around, and I would absolutely recommend this hotel to fellow dog owners looking to take their pup to a dog friendly town. It is a $70 charge which is steep, but was worth it to us in terms of peace of mind, especially with the off peak rate of this hotel on a Saturday to Sunday being $140. The beds are SO comfortable and I had such an awesome night's rest. Of course, the location cannot be beat. In the non-COVID times, we bopped from restaurant to restaurant drinking our way through the town and it was amazing to be able to come right back to the center of town as home base. For the price and guaranteed positive experience, I doubt we will ever stay anywhere else when we come to visit Ellicottville. Happy exploring!

First, they are in the middle of renovations so I can appreciate that. But, the room was 450.00…read moreand included breakfast. The room was laid out wrong with a tv above a fake fireplace and a couch about 6 feet away meaning you had to look up to watch tv. As for the breakfast, it is cool food like vending machine muffins and bulk cereal. No hot food or waffle maker. Even the orange juice was little per-filled sealed cups like it came from a hospital cafeteria. They are remodeling the lobby but they should be doing something with the dated rooms. No charging stations and the couch was old and ratty. We will not be back to this place. UPDATE: I complained on my survey and was contacted by a customer service representative and they gave the company response "sorry for your bad experience we will try hard" which I replied, typical response, I don't believe you even read my additional comments. I said that there was a time when customers were compensated for bad experiences but now it is , we got your money, sorry. About a hour later a got a reply that half my money was being refunded. So at least they are trying so I changed my rating to 2 stars for the effort.

We couldn't have been more pleased with the ambience, comfort, food, and hospitality offered by Martin and Phillip. This is an elegant, first class, traditional Bed & Breakfast with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The mansion is less assuming on the outside than the White Inn, which I've stayed at many times before, but is much classier, far more comfortable, and much higher quality. Martin and Phillip create a peaceful and cozy home away from home with glowing fireplaces, soft music, bottomless cups of tea/coffee, and impeccable and creative Farm to Table meals that alone make the stay worth your while. If you are looking for an elevated experience to rest your soul and lift your spirits, you need not look any further than this quaint and charming treasure.

The beds were comfortable and soft. The shower water was super hot. The entire house is filled with Victorian period antiques. For breakfast she had the included gingerbread pancakes and I had the frittata. Delicious! The coffee was hand-pressed fresh and the juice & muffin were tasty. Downtown Fredonia and its National Registry twin commons has a variety of pubs and eateries an easy three blocks away. Highly recommended for a Fredonia Village stay.

To me this price is pretty steep considering it's not really convenient to anything but the thru way. This hotel has been recently remodel top to bottom. The lobby and common areas are modern and inviting. The hotel is very clean. The rooms are tastefully decorated with nice modern finishes. The beds were pretty comfortable, but I hated the pillows.... But I'm very picky about pillows. They offer free continental plus breakfast. The plus is for the hot food selection of omletes and bacon...buffet style. I was not a fan of either selection so I opted for a bagel. Can't really mess that up. The staff was very friendly. Everyone said hello or asked how we were doing. Even with all the positives I still believe the price to be too high to warrant another stay. Good for out of town, families, couples, passing though.

It smelled strong of cigarette smoke, and there was two twin beds in the room and one head stains on it on the top blanket and so then I went back to the office and somebody else was dealing with the guy that ran the place and he was bringing Lysol to their room and I said is there any non-smoking rooms I asked for a non-smoking room he was like not really then I told my cousin in Buffalo where I was staying and he said you're staying where he said all the homeless people live there. I said what that makes sense so I was not told this when I booked or when I called or when I went to the desk when I got there so then when I went to get my money back, they fought too the nail, so I never got a refund because I didn't even spend the night there. I stayed at my cousins. It was handled very poorly, and I will tell everybody about all the hotels in that area are taken up by homeless people and the people that booked the hotel are not told about it very wrong sneaky and I won't feel bad when you close down someday.
