Comfy chair in room and we appreciated the art

Outstanding stay here at ARRIVE! From the moment we were greeted by the friendly valet (needed help die to the construction on the side street), to the creative comfy lobby, to the helpful check-in and the bonus of a great cafe in the lobby (food and coffee). We loved the decorating with the transformation of what must be a former warehouse. So many thoughtful touches in the room, giant windows, very comfy beds and fun art work. Yes, as mentioned, the room floors are concrete, but we just wore socks at night. When we had a question we could text and got an immediate response. ARRIVE was a 10 for us and would highly recommend.

I'm in town often for work and I've been to many of the nearby hotels. It's always the best experience here! My only regret is I forgot the name of the fabulous woman who helped me check in last visit (sometime around St. Patrick's Day). Every time I passed by the counter she had on a cool accessory I could compliment, and we kept a rapport the whole weekend. Very bubbly, personable, and went above and beyond to make sure I had a good experience. I don't leave reviews often, but I had to come to bat for her here.

We had an excellent stay here on NYE 2021! I loved this hotel! I loved the location! I loved the look! I loved the proximity to the trolley line! I loved how close we were to Beale St! I loved the interior design! I loved the amenities! I loved the concrete floors! I loved the sliding barn door that separates the room! I loved the mini bar! I loved the Marshall speaker in the room! I loved the mural in the alley! I loved the parking attendant! I loved the private parking! I loved the bed! I loved that badass electrical heavy light fixture in the hallways! I loved the funny communication style the hotel had, props to whomever came up with that! I loved that the window in my room opened for fresh air! I loved my wife loved this hotel! What I did not love... Front end hotel staff The unwelcoming check in desk set up and constantly closed bar No coffee in the room Other than that, fucking fantastic stay!!! I'll be back!

Another studio room. Industrial luxury vibe!

Beautiful boutique hotel. It was a factory way back when, then a museum and now a hotel, restaurant and bar. Industrial elegance at its finest. *huge bonus* secure safe parking garage for your automobile. Other hotels have good reviews but rife with stories of people's cars being vandalized on a frequent basis. Eugene the valet guy is awesome during the day and Parker is great as the night man. My only critique is they have cashless pay and no bell help to haul your luggage to and from your room. For that $$$ price they should have one. Having said that the staff was attentive and friendly and the hotel is gorgeous! Highly recommend!

Corner king with blackout blinds next to the railroad

Super cute and likely the best hotel in town. Location: a lil sketch at night but Memphis is just sketch in general. Be wise. Close to the river and to Lorraine motel, Central BBQ and Beale St. Home run! Parking: $27 overnight and it's in a closed garage around the way near the train tracks so request your car in advance as it takes time. And it's safe. Food: on a Mon or Tues good luck! Everything is closed nearby. Plan accordingly this was a big bummer and point of frustration. They serve tea coffee and a few baked goods at the hotel but that's it. Lobby: very cute areas all over at the bar or in general in and outdoor to relax, drink tea coffee or a beverage of choice eat a small snack, frolic, fellowship, or read a book. Spend time there so cute! The room: I was in room 401 which was a corner room facing the railroad with a beautiful bathroom etc. they provide all you need! Bed was super comfy as were the pillows. Cute old school radio which you can use the aux cord to connect to. Old school red refrigerator which has plenty of space. A great office desk and chair and huge TV. Loads of light and blackout blinds too. Couch was super comfy! Tiled floors require socks or slippers so bring them but very easy to roll luggage. Bed has a nice cotton heavy blanket as needed. Love this place! Advice for the hotel: Have a list of places to eat based on when things are opened or closed. Add hooks in the bathroom for towels and robes. The shower is stately, but the shower heads are tiny. Look into turning the lights into a rain shower head or change the current one to be wider and stronger.

Arrive was a stay at home! Since the pandemic, I've been feeling trapped because I cannot travel like I used to. I decided to book a staycation and Arrive was a great choice. The check-in process was seamless and covered all COVID-19 protocols. Don't be alarmed by the text messages you receive. This is how you communicate with the hotel. I am not sure if this is the case because of covid or something new. The king room offered a studio apartment feel, and I felt like I was at home. This room provides your everyday things- TV, remote, toiletries, etc. And the bonus was the robes! Because of Covid, there weren't any glasses or ice buckets. You had to get them from the front desk, which I thought was a great idea. The parking garage doesn't look like much, but it was free! There is a bar, lounge, and food area that offers bagels, muffins, and evening orders. You really got the overall experience of the downtown stay and relaxation. All in all, I would recommend Arrive if you're local and need a getaway. Excellent for out of towners too.

Like most people, I came specifically to see the famous Peabody Ducks make their grand entrance, and BABY, it did not disappoint! The lobby is absolutely regal, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I grabbed a seat, ordered a French 75 (which was REALLY good), and waited for the main event. Now, I knew the ducks were a big deal, but I wasn't expecting ALL the pomp and circumstance. LOL. The Duckmaster was fantastic! Personable, well-spoken, and entertaining. Even his explanation of the house rules was enjoyable, and surprisingly, everyone followed them! And then came the ducks! SO CUTE! I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. If you're visiting Memphis, this is an absolute MUST-SEE! Between the beautiful hotel, great atmosphere, and famous ducks, it's well worth the visit. I'll definitely be back, and hopefully as an overnight guest next time!

The dim lighting along with the dark woods just send you back in time. Our purpose to come to The famous Peabody hotel were to see the ducks. We came to late to see them come into the pool and too early to se them leave but just watching them splash around and have what looked like a really good time was fun. Our family came to Memphis for a professional project and interview, and we chose this hotel…read morebecause we expected the Hilton name to represent professionalism, security, cleanliness, hospitality, and a comfortable place to rest. Unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing, particularly at night. Our concerns started at check-in. The gentleman who checked us in came across as condescending, crass, and disrespectful. His demeanor, including what we perceived after my son and I walked away from the desk, immediately made us feel unwelcome. We were among a minority of guests in the environment at that time, and the interaction was uncomfortable enough that we questioned why we were being treated that way. I cannot speak to another person's motives, but I can speak to how we were treated: we did not feel welcomed or respected. The much bigger concern, however, was what happened to the atmosphere of the hotel at night. The large lobby/bar area became extremely loud and crowded, with many people coming into the property for music and nightlife. During our stay, we encountered strong marijuana and cigar odors, extremely loud entertainment, and public sexual/intimate behavior that we found completely inappropriate for common areas of a hotel. Some of the conduct we personally encountered near the elevators was sexual enough that we were shocked it was being permitted. This was NOT an environment I would consider appropriate for children or families. There is nothing wrong with adults listening to music, dancing, having a drink, or enjoying themselves. That is not my complaint. My concern is what happens when reasonable boundaries disappear and registered hotel guests have to navigate explicit behavior, smoke, crowds, noise, and an atmosphere that feels more like an uncontrolled nightclub than a hotel. Security did not make us feel reassured. From what we observed, personnel appeared more interested in blending into the nightlife atmosphere than establishing boundaries and protecting the comfort of registered guests. That is unacceptable. A guest should be able to walk from the entrance to the elevator and from the elevator to their room without wondering what they are going to encounter. The hotel also needs to examine access control. Its location near public transportation means there can naturally be significant pedestrian traffic nearby, which makes effective hotel security even more important. Public transportation is not the problem; uncontrolled access and inadequate security are. The smell at night was also unpleasant. Marijuana/cigar smoke and other odors were strong enough to noticeably affect our experience. I want to acknowledge that we did encounter a female employee during the daytime who was much more pleasant. I believe in giving credit where it is due. Unfortunately, that positive interaction could not overcome the larger problems we experienced. We are not writing this review because we expect everyone to share our beliefs. We don't. We do, however, believe that there should still be standards of dignity, modesty, respect, self-control, and appropriate public behavior in a hotel where families and business travelers are paying to stay. There is a difference between nightlife and lawlessness. There is a difference between welcoming everyone and permitting virtually anything. There is a difference between adults having fun and forcing other paying guests to encounter sexually explicit behavior in common areas. Those distinctions matter. From our family's faith perspective, what we witnessed was deeply troubling. A society does not become more compassionate by eliminating every standard of public decency. People of every background deserve dignity and respect, and that includes families who simply want to walk through their hotel without being exposed to overtly sexual behavior, heavy smoke odors, or an intimidating nightlife environment. Hilton and this property's management need to seriously examine what is happening here after dark. Review the cameras. Review security procedures. Review who has access to the property. Review the smoke issue. Review what is occurring around the elevators. Review employee professionalism. And ask whether a mother, father, or family arriving at night would reasonably believe this is the environment they paid for when they booked a Hilton-affiliated hotel. Our experience was that the property changed dramatically after dark, and we did not feel comfortable or secure. We came to Memphis for business--not for a nightclub or adult-entertainment atmosphere. A hotel should offer travelers a place of rest, safety, hospitality, and dignity. For us, this property failed that basic responsibility. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously rather than dismissing them. The property needs stronger boundaries, better security, greater professionalism, and much more consideration for the registered guests.

One downside: Lyft drivers seemed confused about where to drop off or pick up, usually stopping on the other side of Peabody Place. The back courtyard entrance of the hotel, near the parking garage, is somewhat hidden even when I gave the Lyft drivers directions. Clean - including the top of the shower curtain railing, I checked. Comfortable in the truest sense not merely adequate, but genuinely restful. The kind of bed you sink into and feel the day release from your shoulders. The kind of space that says you're taken A genuine hospitality that feels rooted in the city itself rather than scripted by a brand manual. Memphis has always been generous that way, and the Canopy reflects it. And then there's the catfish. I don't say this lightly: the catfish here is worth the trip on its own terms. To be perfectly forthcoming, a huge part of the enjoyment in staying here is the fact that I am a big Elvis Presley fan. Let's be real, you're gonna have a much better time staying here if you're already a fan. Having said that, I feel like this place is elevated enough that even a non-Elvis fan could find enough to enjoy here. Perhaps someone who actively dislikes Elvis wouldn't want to stay here, but if you have no opinion on Elvis or you're only moderately aware of him, you're probably going to love staying at the hotel. To begin with it's a very secure property. The parking lot is patrolled day and night, and there are cameras everywhere. It's well known that Graceland is in the middle of a not so good neighborhood, so it's a good idea that they are this vigilant. Literally every night they throw a party in the lobby with live music and a boisterous atmosphere in the bar. It's always upbeat music that you can tap your foot or even dance to if you're so inclined. Various restaurants are available at various price points. One of the restaurants even puts out complementary peanut butter and jelly sandwiches at 9 PM every night if you're so inclined. All of the usual southern cooking is available including barbecue, fried chicken, and other such comfort foods. The common areas are beautiful, and feature elegant furniture and lighting accoutrements. I've always felt like the lobby was something you might see in a place like Las Vegas or New York. The swimming pool is well maintained and includes various seating options with nice soft towels. I've only been out there once, but I enjoyed my time there immensely. The equipment in the gym could probably use an update, but it is functional and it gets the job done. They were smart to place it viewing the courtyard area rather than the main road. Every time I've ever stayed here I've put in a morning walk on one of the treadmills and it's always worked just fine. The rooms are elegant and make good use of muted colors. Expect to see lots of red and black in your room, along with wood grain finishing on most of the furniture. The beds are typically quite firm if that's your thing, in my case I could probably stand for them to be slightly softer but that's typically not what you find in an American hotel room. I've always enjoyed the showers in the hotel room, which feature a double head including a rainfall option. Bath products over the years have always been high-quality, and I'm pleased that they have resisted the temptation to go to the large communal bottles bolted to the wall. Overall it's a magnificent experiencing staying here, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Let's start with my arrival, because getting INTO the hotel was an experience of its own. LOL. The lobby doors were locked, so I pressed the buzzer. No response. Thinking I might have approached the wrong entrance, I walked around to the Starbucks entrance. LOCKED TOO! Eventually, I managed to get inside. Once I made it in, things started looking up. The building has some beautiful architectural character, and both the bellhop and front desk representative were extremely personable and welcoming. Now, let's talk about my ROOM! I stayed in a loft on the sixth floor, and I absolutely LOVED the layout. The space was impressive, thoughtfully designed, and made excellent use of every square foot. Definitely one of the highlights of my stay. HOWEVER, there was one issue I simply couldn't ignore. THE SMELL! There was a persistent, unidentifiable odor throughout the sixth floor and inside my room. I couldn't quite put my finger on it. Was it mildew? Mold? Or perhaps another guest cooking up an international feast that had the entire floor smelling like their kitchen? WHO KNOWS! Whatever it was, it wasn't pleasant. I eventually got used to it, but every time I stepped off the elevator or returned to my room, there it was again. And then there's BREAKFAST. BABY, WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! I've stayed at my fair share of Residence Inn properties, and this was easily the worst breakfast experience I've had at one. First, the breakfast area was extremely small and constantly congested. Trying to navigate the space while everyone was attempting to grab breakfast was an experience in itself. The selection was limited, and the food lacked flavor. Honestly, some of it was borderline inedible. The only saving graces were the prepackaged items and the waffles I made myself using the waffle maker. At least I could count on those! LOL. For a property carrying the Marriott name, I expected a little more, especially considering my experiences at other Residence Inn locations. Overall, I genuinely liked the property. The architecture, welcoming staff, and impressive loft were definite highlights. However, the unpleasant odor, disappointing breakfast, and difficulty accessing the building certainly took away from what could have been a much better experience. Would I stay here again? Possibly. But I'd definitely have some questions about that sixth floor before booking another room. And next time, I might just plan on getting breakfast somewhere else!
