I am a real ball buster! I'm very difficult and hard to please, I have a "three product" maximum rule. Not to mention my hair is to my waist, EXTREMELY thick and course. I've been seeing Ashlee since 2006! She has taken my natural honey bronze hair from black to blond to brown to red and finally back to my NATURAL COLOR! Did a lot of internet research before I picked a salon, happy to say that I've been coming to Array Salon to see Katie Neville for almost two years now. I really enjoy the atmosphere (always offered a drink, never waiting, accommodated for my frequent bathroom breaks), and the place is really nice and clean. The other stylists that work there are very friendly with each other and their clients. I always feel welcome when I come in - the front is always nice! :) I also work a very sporadic schedule, which means I've rescheduled almost every single appointment I've ever made. They have always been very understanding about it! I got randomly paired with Katie when I called in for the first opening and I'm really glad that I did! I've always loved my hair when she's done with it. It feels healthy and looks great, and I think she's excellent at envisioning what I want. I've honestly got to say since I've been seeing her I actually like doing my own hair. I love it. She gives off good vibes, so it's never an awkward appointment where you have long periods of silence or forced conversation. She's always remembering stuff that I told her my last visit. I always have a blast when I come in! It's important to note that most of us ladies take our eyebrows very seriously, and I waited over a year and a half before I got mine done because I've had horrifying experiences at other salons in the past but they turned out fantastic! I was so nervous about going to a new salon, just moved here from Cincinnati, also I've only had my hair done by one stylist in my life! The salon is outdated and dark and dirty. The wash stations are just cheap cushioned cots that you have to lay down on without the option of sitting and then reclining. Really difficult for older clients who may not be able to climb up on to a bed. The music they play is questionable with lyrics that could be offensive to many clients. Most of the stylists are really nice but they don't stay at the salon for very long, which makes you question what the environment is like for them. My guess is that it isn't a great place to work. If you find someone that you like, be sure to take one of their cards because you'll want to follow them to their next salon. Once a stylist leaves Array, the owners won't share their forwarding contact information. read more

My daughter and I were in desperate need of haircuts and we were not disappointed coming to Array. Tyler did my hair, which is pretty short. Love how he took my idea, which of course was super ambiguous, and ran with it. Love my hair, the perfect summer cut and it's super easy to handle, thank goodness! My daughter has been through a series of bad to worse cuts. Melissa, I think, did her hair and for the first time in two years it actually looks like a pro styled it. So cute, she went with a short in the back, little longer in the front style, and my daughter loves it. They were very professional, friendly and willing to work with us, which is exactly what you want when coming into a new salon, at least for me being new in town. Array Salon is hands down the best salon I've ever been to. For years I traveled from stylist to stylist. Every single time I seemed to be disappointed. Luckily, one day in a panic I saw Array Salon and asked if they did "walk-ins". That is a decision I will never regret. Array Salon is staffed with vibrant and cool stylists. You are offered drinks when you wait, they play fun music, and not to mention, you leave the salon looking better than you ever have before. I look forward to going to get my hair done every 3-4 weeks. My personal stylist is Tonni. She is a hair wizard!! I have recommended her to all of my friends and several have gone in to see her and been blown away. She is quirky, friendly, and insanely gifted. You will not be disappointed if you go have your hair done by Tonni. She can create any vision, help you decide what would look best, and send you on your way looking incredible. Best of all, she is not afraid to give you her honest opinion. I have gone to Tonni for almost two years now. I am lucky to have such a phenomenal stylist :) If you are ever wanting to try something new or fun, or are needing a good stylist, Tonni is your girl. I have never had any of the other stylists from Array Salon work on my hair but I have sat in the chair long enough to know that they all deliver quality work. The atmosphere is great. I've been going to Melissa for 6+ years, when she started working at Array I was extremely happy they use top of the line products and keep up with the latest hair technics. Every time I go they ask me if I want something to drink and sometimes we order food (my hair usually takes 3-4 hours) I make appointments every 6-8 weeks. All the girls at the salon are extremely friendly, talented and have hair integrity. I've gone from thick mid back hair to a short A-line bob I can always trust Melissa to do a good job. read more

Array salon is the absolute best salon in Salt Lake City. Ashlee and Bryan are the owners and they are both amazingly talented stylists! And the prices are affordable compared to other salons I've been to all over the country. They always ask you about your hair and treat it accordingly- they love their products too! They love to explain what different products do for your hair - how it will benefit your hair! And their products work so great! My favorite new hair product is the Surface Bassu oil!! I went for the big bottle last time I was there after buying the smaller bottle the last couple times. It makes my hair so soft and shiny. Ashlee and Bryan swear by it! And if for whatever you don't love your hair when you get home after the salon - just call and let your stylist know! They will fix it because they want you to love your look! read more

Bryan is a hair magician! When my usual hairstylists gave me a terrible coloring job and had no interest in fixing it (my color faded in 4 days to a horrible color), Array (and Bryan) saved the day. Based on recommendations, I called Array in the morning and requested to make an appointment for a color correction. I was lucky that Bryan had some availability that afternoon. When I met Bryan, he carefully listened to my frustrations and explained the options to get the look I wanted. I immediately felt comfortable that he understood what I wanted (a dark red-violet) and that he knew how to fix my hair. Bryan did a great job fixing my color and I'm pleased with the results. Tonni at Array is great for men's hair that is short and straight (and I'm sure everything else but that's all I can speak to). I bounced around barbers and stylists for a couple years in salt lake before finding Tonni and I've been very happy since. I know I can trust her not to mess up my hair and I leave happy every time. I went in to get an ombre done and in a nutshell, I think they did an okay job -- they did select colors that made my hair look like a rainbow and it didn't really go together. She really took the time to ask what problems I had with my hair so she could figure out how to cut it in a way that would solve those problems. I was very happy with my cut and style. Overall experience was extremely disappointing and put a bad taste in my mouth. I do have to say that the staff is lovely and VERY personable; always making sure that I was comfortable and caffeinated. I have no qualms about the customer service. The reason they get two stars and not one is because of the phenomenal customer service. My big issue with them was their inability to actually do my hair. I went in for a cut and color (please make note that I was well prepared with photo referenced of both cut and color) expecting good things after being referred here by many friends. The cut was the correct length... but that's about where the positives of this visit stop. The color was literally the farthest thing from what I was looking for being about two shades darker than planned. I was upset by this but my stylist chalked it up to looking so dark because of the lighting and all. excuses excuses. Of course I was upset with the color but at the moment I couldn't think of a worse idea than letting them process my hair even more to try and fix their own mistake. I just couldn't imaging them being able to fix it and I wasn't about to pay them to mess it up even more. Needless to say I'm not planing on coming back again and in case you were wondering I found another salon that was sympathetic to my story to fix my hair for a very fair price. With the money they charge here they should be able to hire people who can at least match color to a photo. read more
