My one piece of advice would be, if you see a bargin, grab it while you can as it may not be there next time you go. The staff are friendly and helpful but don't know themselves what is going to be on the next delivery. There is a small car park attached to store but this is often full, there is a council pay and display carpark just across the road. A shop well worth popping into regularly to spot a bargin or two.

No, but it's only £8! What about a cool black and white print of John Lennon? No, but it's only £8! Not everything was £8, but it was all cheap. Incense - 99p per pack. Cushions (nice ones!) £3 - £7, depending on size. Furniture included kitchen table and chair sets, night stands, foot stools, comfy chairs and couches, and I don't think anything was over 500. Near the back were tonnes of rugs in various sizes and for various rooms. Smaller items like dishware (a full set for £8! ... Maybe they did a study and 8 is the price that sounds like a really good deal to most people), jewellery boxes and clocks were also cheap. The key is that nothing really looks like it's from a bargain bin - or, won't once you take it out of the shop. I say, check it out.

Costco's housebrand is called "Kirkland" and is actually very high quality for affordable prices. I can honestly say I have been buying Kirkland products for years and would highly recommend pretty much anything Kirkland brand. We usually try to avoid this store on the weekends because the traffic from Lakeside can make for some pretty scary encounters however the parking lot is very large so at least finding a spot will be painless. Membership is £50 a year but allows 2 adults so if you're savvy, you can possibly share a membership between two families like my MIL (she shares with one of her sisters). If you are having a party, I highly recommend the cakes from the bakery here. We ordered the chocolate bundt cake and a carrot cake for a party we had and both were cheap, moist and sinfully delicious - especially the carrot cake! Definitely worth the membership if you have a big family or a big event to host but make sure you check the hours first because on some days they open early to business owners and not to the public until noon or later.

This shop holds some stock which I haven't seen in other discount stores, namely some brightly coloured containers which have a 60s looking hippy pattern on and some moving noisy pictures (such as pictures of the ocean with ocean sounds which are quite soothing) which are ideal ornaments for living rooms. A small selection of tools and DIY materials can also be found on the shelves. I liked the smell of this shop, obviously the owners have burnt some incense to give the shop a nice, calming aroma and make it welcoming and comfortable. Despite the appearance of the shop, it is not a pound shop but it is still significantly cheaper than supermarkets and other household stores. It is small and not good if you have the kids with you as there is plenty which they can knock off the shelves and break. Parking is nearby at the bowling alley or pay and display around the corner should you wish to load your goods into the car as near to the shop as possible. Wardens patrol the area regularly so resist giving into that "I'll only be a minute" mentality which catches so many people out.
