This shop holds some stock which I haven't seen in other discount stores, namely some brightly coloured containers which have a 60s looking hippy pattern on and some moving noisy pictures (such as pictures of the ocean with ocean sounds which are quite soothing) which are ideal ornaments for living rooms. A small selection of tools and DIY materials can also be found on the shelves. I liked the smell of this shop, obviously the owners have burnt some incense to give the shop a nice, calming aroma and make it welcoming and comfortable. Despite the appearance of the shop, it is not a pound shop but it is still significantly cheaper than supermarkets and other household stores. It is small and not good if you have the kids with you as there is plenty which they can knock off the shelves and break. Parking is nearby at the bowling alley or pay and display around the corner should you wish to load your goods into the car as near to the shop as possible. Wardens patrol the area regularly so resist giving into that "I'll only be a minute" mentality which catches so many people out.

The prices they set are unbelievably low compared to some other well known charities. You can pick up designer jeans for £3 and designer tops for as little as £2 each. There's a huge stock of books, dvds, videos etc a large mens clothing and shoes area and lots of toys, gifts and bedding etc. The baby clothes are from as little as 20p per item, I've kitted out my wardrobe from this shop. It is so busy and a real community area where people meet and chat and everyone is friendly. All the staff except the manageress are volunteers and it's for a very worthwhile cause. One of the great things about this shop is that they don't overprice items, recently I have noticed charity shops have been becoming very expensive and sometimes it ends up that you're better off buying something new in a cheap shop such as Primark than a second hand item. This is not the case in here, items are always very fairly priced. Look out for the bargain rail which is usually outside the shop when the weather is good enough - it is filled with items of clothing for 75p which have been in the shop for a set period of time - a sort of a clearance rail!

The stock varies from biographies and historical artifacts (mainly right wing paraphernalia- a Daily Mail series on the modern monarchy, an enormous hardback on the Third Reich and a Thatcher biography) Amongst all the military-themed bits of tat, there are actually some very good finds- there were some cool old 1950s Christmas cards, some 1960s newspapers in excellent condition and some beautiful vintage postcards. They were also selling bars of Toblerone and three packs of Kinder Bueno for 99p each. Simply marvellous. Price wise you should not expect to part with a few pounds for most items in the shop. A majority are cheaper than you would find them in most other shops and aren't great quality but will probably last long enough to say you've had your moneys worth. Parking outside the shop is a big no-no as that section of Bexley Road is very narrow and even the slightest obstruction brings the whole village to a standstill. The best place to park is the pay and display car park in Mill Road just a short walk away.

Perhaps you don't normally wear red and you just want a t-shirt you can wear once and then either use to paint, or maybe to mop up spilled drinks. What I'm getting at here, is that I needed a cheap... CHEAP piece of cloth, that was red, would suitably cover my, ever-growing, man boobs and didn't make me look too ridiculous (which is pretty hard). Primark was just the ticket... After dodging the minion-emblazed beach t-shirts and the tweety-bird 'gangsta' tops, I found what I wanted. A t-shirt... That was red... And pretty much fit my boobs. All for the princely sum of £7. Lovely. This is the sort of situation that makes Primark shine. Don't get me wrong. The staff STILL hate working there. They all look like they'll kill you with a clothes hanger if you dare ask them a question. AND they still take an age to serve you at the till. But you know what... I don't care. If I want to feel like the sun shines out of my arse while I'm buying a t-shirt... I'll go elsewhere. If I want a pretty decent top, for basically no money. Primark is where I go.
