This shop holds some stock which I haven't seen in other discount stores, namely some brightly coloured containers which have a 60s looking hippy pattern on and some moving noisy pictures (such as pictures of the ocean with ocean sounds which are quite soothing) which are ideal ornaments for living rooms. A small selection of tools and DIY materials can also be found on the shelves. I liked the smell of this shop, obviously the owners have burnt some incense to give the shop a nice, calming aroma and make it welcoming and comfortable. Despite the appearance of the shop, it is not a pound shop but it is still significantly cheaper than supermarkets and other household stores. It is small and not good if you have the kids with you as there is plenty which they can knock off the shelves and break. Parking is nearby at the bowling alley or pay and display around the corner should you wish to load your goods into the car as near to the shop as possible. Wardens patrol the area regularly so resist giving into that "I'll only be a minute" mentality which catches so many people out.

What I'm getting at here, is that I needed a cheap... CHEAP piece of cloth, that was red, would suitably cover my, ever-growing, man boobs and didn't make me look too ridiculous (which is pretty hard). Primark was just the ticket... After dodging the minion-emblazed beach t-shirts and the tweety-bird 'gangsta' tops, I found what I wanted. A t-shirt... That was red... And pretty much fit my boobs. All for the princely sum of £7. Lovely. This is the sort of situation that makes Primark shine. Don't get me wrong. The staff STILL hate working there. They all look like they'll kill you with a clothes hanger if you dare ask them a question. AND they still take an age to serve you at the till. But you know what... I don't care. It's free for disabled blue badge holders in any bay. Alternatively there is on street parking around the other side of the shopping centre if coming in from where the old Zens nightclub used to be. Inside the centre there are many varied shops like the 99p store great for bargains as is Wilkinsons, then there's a great Greggs for getting some lunch, there's a cheap card shop, a thorntons, a Peacocks love that store, supadrugs, McDonalds (yuk), as well as much more ie shoes, household, small stalls, nail and beauty shops, furniture etc. Well worth a visit, plus there's an indoor market area with quite a few stalls selling pet foods, clothes, shoes, mobile phone stuff etc it's small but the stalls have been there years.

Price wise it is the same too. The only difference is the quantity they stock. Occasionally you might have to wait for a film to come back into stock if it is popular. The shop is small and has a real local feel to it which is a big attraction to me. If there is little difference in price and quality I would much rather put my money into the pocket of a local business than a large multi-national. Parking is available in spaces directly opposite the shop. Conveniently there are a range of take aways and a off licence on the other side of the road too so you can get everything you need for the ultimate night in in one trip out.

Small and on a side road or parade of local shops. The downside is they don't always have many of them, so you can find it hard to get that latest release you really want to watch. The up side is they have a lot of films to choose from and you can call and reserve films so when they do come back you can get them. Plus they are cheaper than you Blockbusters. I love supporting local shops whenever I can, but to be honest we started going to Blockbusters again as it was just too frustrating not to be able to get the film you wanted to see when you wanted to see it.

All of the usual big name shops are inside with fashion, music, stationers, jewellery and electronic stores making up the bulk of businesses. You won't find everything you want here but for the basics, it is alright. Footfall appears to have fallen since the opening of Bluewater a few years back meaning that it isn't as busy as other malls. It can get busy during the school rush as Bexleyheath is the changing point for practically every route home in the Bexley borough. Plenty of parking is available in the multistory on site meaning you can shop and drop your goods off in your car before continuing shopping. Buses run to and from the whole Bexley borough although it is worth noting that The Mall is nowhere near the train station. The place has undergone a refurbishment recently which makes it look a lot nicer than it used to. It has public toilet facilities upstairs as well which is very useful for when you are spending whole days in Bexleyheath. For cold, horrible rainy days, The Mall sure beats the local High Streets.

Price wise it's not bad for a convenience store. It doesn't massively overcharge its customers and it has a handful of money saving deals. Alcohol is also available with all the familiar brands often included in the deals. It's normally quite quiet and peaceful which makes it easy to browse. Parking is not available directly outside the shop as it is located next to a bus stop, but there are plenty of spaces in the surrounding roads.
