Costco

Costco

Although I usually lack adequate space for bulk purchasing, my mother-in-law (and her large chest…read morefreezer) can rarely resist the deals available from Costco. For instance, a 5lb block of mozzarella cheese is about the same price as 1lb shredded from Tesco... now she has to put in the effort of grating it herself, but she has two days off a week anyway so she might as well take the time and save the money. Costco's housebrand is called "Kirkland" and is actually very high quality for affordable prices. I can honestly say I have been buying Kirkland products for years and would highly recommend pretty much anything Kirkland brand. We usually try to avoid this store on the weekends because the traffic from Lakeside can make for some pretty scary encounters however the parking lot is very large so at least finding a spot will be painless. Membership is £50 a year but allows 2 adults so if you're savvy, you can possibly share a membership between two families like my MIL (she shares with one of her sisters). If you are having a party, I highly recommend the cakes from the bakery here. We ordered the chocolate bundt cake and a carrot cake for a party we had and both were cheap, moist and sinfully delicious - especially the carrot cake! Definitely worth the membership if you have a big family or a big event to host but make sure you check the hours first because on some days they open early to business owners and not to the public until noon or later.

I tried to buy petrol at Thurrock last weekend and was unable to do so as I had the 'wrong cards'…read moreIf you have a Halifax card or Nat West the chances are the pump will not accept it.We spoke to the guy at the pumps and he said yes that's right it probably won't work - there's a dispute going on. So we had to buy petrol In Aveley which was 5p dearer per litre. When I got home and rang them and was told it's my banks fault. Totally not interested in my situation. Definitely not going to help customer relations WAS NOT IMPRESSED WITH THIS ATTITUDE Shame on you Costco you should sort your problems and look after your customers

I am a great lover of any Primark store, whatever it may be. However I think the Maidstone store is…read morevery good. It is located at the other end of the High St, near Woolworths, is set over two floors. The ground floor is mainly women's clothes and accessories, and the 1st floor is home to men's clothing, children's clothing, home ware and shoes. Every time I visit the Maidstone store it always appears to be very tidy and well organised. I hardly ever see items of clothing left on the floor for a long period of time, and it is all nicely presented in the shop. The staff at Maidstone are very friendly and helpful and always on hand to help if you need a different size when trying on clothing.

I love Primark! Granted, the children's section is upstairs, but there's a good sized, quick and…read morereliable lift. At weekends it can get a little frantic, with clothes being left on the floor and on the wrong pegs by people changing their minds with what they've picked up, but there's always a few members of staff doing their best to keep on top of the situation. I've always found the staff to be fine, polite and helpful if a little stressed! The range of clothes is great. The adult clothes can be a bit funny on sizes (no two size 18s are ever quite the same) but they're so cheap and provided you try them on first it's not really a problem. The kids clothes are great - bright and colourful and easy to mix and match when one of the little cherubs gets pasta sauce down the top from one outfit! Personally I think the clothes are very good quality for what you pay, and my 1 year old is still wearing clothes that were bought 8 years ago for my eldest and have been on my 3 year old as well! I find they wash just as well, if not better than some more expensive items, and if something comes home from nursery with orange poster paint all up one sleeve it doesn't really matter!

New Look in Chatham is now a huge affair with two floors full of fashion goodness…read more It offers ranges to suit everyone from the youngsters to the men with different departments to suit different bodies. For example the youngsters can go to 915, those from sizes 8-16 or 18 will go for the general wear and those with bigger sizes get another department dedicated purely to them. You can find a whole section dedicated to going out with items such as glitzy tops, dresses, cardigans etc. Then a jumper section with namely a lot of jumpers in it. Cardigans etc. Then a denim section where you will find a wide range of different styles and cuts to suit just about any fussy lady. If you're on the tall side there's a tall section and sleepwear. I have to say they don't offer a petites section which is quite annoying if you're on the small side like moi. Upstairs you will find the 915 section, larger lady section, shoes and a huge range of jewellery with designs to suit all. There are also a large number of bags and hair accessories, all at very decent prices!

This is my favourite newlook store due to the larger inspire range! This store has three levels and the best level is the top because of the larger sizes and shoes! There's also two tills which normally has no queues however the changing room is on the second level!

River Island is located right in the centre of the main High Street…read more I'm always lured in the wonderful window displays. I always like everything River Island sell, so when i see gorgeous shoes and clothes in the window, i can't help but go in and have a look. The store in Maidstone has a large ladies section on the ground floor, and the Mens section is located on the first floor. The prices in River Island are never cheap, sometimes thing can seem overpriced, especially when you have Dorothy perkins right next door, but the quality of the clothes makes the item worth buying. I buy all my jeans from River Island because they last me years. The best thing i love about River Island is the gorgeous shoes and handbags. The staff in Maidstone are really nice and friendly. They are all young pretty girls and are happy to take the time to find that special outfit, for that special night out. Thanks girls!

I love love love the clothes in this store. Good quality at a reasonable price. The layout is good…read moreas you can see pretty much everything as soon as you walk in and it is possible to push a pram around most of the store. There are two downsides though. 1. the mens section is upstairs so if you are shopping for hubby but have the pram with you then you are pretty stuffed in here. 2. The gorgeous shoes, boots and handbags are right at the back of the store on the ground floor which would be wonderful if you didnt have to go down about 20 steps to get to them, so again, stuffed if you are a shoe-a-holic ( like me ) !!! I still love shopping in here though so it can't all be bad can it.
